Kyungsoo hyung,

You were right, Jongin did visit me at work today. We had a chat, and you were right about that too, we really did need to have a talk about what happened. We discussed our friendship before we got together, and then about our relationship and how it progressed over time. And then he told me something that I didn't even notice. He said that the way I looked at him started to change, and that he felt like I wasn't present in the relationship anymore, like I didn't want to spend time with him. How we didn't speak nearly as much as we did in the beginning and whenever we did spend time together, I was always distracted.

And he said it's not an excuse for what happened, but part of the reason why he developed feelings for you was because he felt like I didn't want him anymore. I was hurting him without even realising it. He also said that I broke his heart whenever I used to look at my phone instead of at him.

Even when he broke up with me, he said that he would've given us another go if I had just tried to fight for it. And then I thought to myself: why didn't I fight for it? Why didn't I just swallow my pride and ask him not to go? Why did I just let him walk away? Maybe, deep down, a part of me knew that I didn't love him as much as I thought I did. I think at some point, something changed between us and so he moved on and it was probably the right thing to do. I wouldn't want him to be with me if he wasn't happy, if I wasn't able to make him happy. I don't even know if we were really happy together anymore. I mean, even seeing him today, it wasn't the same. My heart didn't skip, and I wasn't angry or upset.

All this time, I thought it was all his fault. I thought he was the one who broke my heart. I didn't even realise he was hurting as well. He cried, and I've never seen him cry before. It's funny how you don't realise these things until you address it directly. I thought there was nothing that could be said to make me feel better, but strangely enough, I do, I don't feel broken anymore. Maybe it's just closure or whatever, but I'm glad that I had that talk with Jongin, because now I can move on.

Sorry that I haven't been in touch, I've need some time alone to process with what's been going on. I still don't think I'll be able to be friends with you though. I'm sorry, hyung, but I think it would be best if we cease all contact. I know this is probably not what you want, and maybe it's selfish of me to ask this of you, but I would like for you to pretend that I never texted back in March.

I don't regret our friendship or anything, and I don't hate you for what's happened. I know it wasn't your fault, and I don't blame you for anything. In a way, it was probably all my fault. But I want to pretend like none of this ever happened, you, me, Jongin, none of it.

Take care of yourself, hyung. And I wish you and Jongin the very best. And I really mean it this time. I realise now that me and Jongin were never meant for each other, maybe he was meant to be with you all along.
