Good Bye Stars

Milk Chocolate and Dark Kisses

"So we will go back to Liu, and you guys return Min Jung," said the silver haired man. She had just woken up, tired from playing with Mr. Thao's dog the night before. She couldn't deny that she was a bit sad to be leaving, but happy that she'd be able to see her dad again.

"Yes. It's been three days, Sehun-ssi is tired and Minseok is soon to become a criminal, wanted if we don't."

The large man entered the house, shaking his head.

"Good and bad news. Liu retreated back to China to prepare his legal team. Word is, the president is launching a full out war against Liu." He took a seat, accepting the drink that Minseok gave him.

"You mean, he's going to file a lawsuit against them?"

"Yes. Not only that, with it, it'll bring to light the amount of deceit the Liu corporation has done to others all throughout its history."

"Okay. Then. What's the good news," asked Mr. Thao. His voice was calm, but his face said otherwise.

"One of my people reported that he plans to use Luhan as the perpetrator, after all, he practically owns everything in the Liu Corporation and the money. The good news is that Min Jung and Minseok won't have a problem anymore. He had planned to expose Min Jung. They've caught the traitors that I was supposed to work with and they don't know about Minseok-ssi either."

Mr. Thao shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"At least we know that it's safe to return Min Jung and Minseok however, it's not going to be safe for you," said Mr. Thao, pointing his chin towards the silver haired man. He nodded in return.

Min Jung was confused about all that was going on. She didn't understand why Luhan was going to be blamed for anything. Especially when he's been gone for so long.

"Min Jung, we're going to be bringing you back soon. Eat your breakfast okay? You'll see your dad."

She nodded without a word, following after Minseok. Her eyes lingered onto the silver haired man's exposed eyes for a while. Not once did she see him without his mask. She understood at that point, she'd pass on being a spy in the future. It was too difficult to understand what was going on and it was too hard being a secret. She wanted to talk to everybody. Adults ran the world, but she was going to be there to enjoy it, she thought.

"Is the silver man going to eat breakfast."

"He's already eaten while you were still sleeping. It's going to be a long ride."

She nodded, taking a seat by the table. She noticed, the dying bouquet of white roses. Though starting to brown, it made it that much more beautiful. She stared at the flower while she ate her breakfast, taking in its weak scent.

The blue car stopped in front of Minseok's home. There were no signs of entry nor attempted break ins. He waved goodbye, sadly standing in front of his lawn and looking at them.

Min Jung watched as he gave a hug to the silver man through the window.

"If this is, indeed, the last time, I hope you the best. Be strong my friend. I believe in you and know that my door will always be open if you need a place to be."

The silver haired man nodded, wiping at the tears. Min Jung's grip on his hand became tighter, her own heart constricted with sadness.

"Goodbye Minseok. My star," he said. He waved as Mr. Thao drove off, going towards a very familiar path. Min Jung stared out the window ahead, looking between every man inside the car. There was a heavy air and she all of a sudden became sad that they were all parting. Those three days she spent with the silver haired man and the rest were one of her best, though if only her uncles and dad were present as well. She watched as they drove past her father's company, her bottom sliding up to the edge of her seat. Mr. Thao parked off to the side a block away. He turned to look at her.

"This is it. Thank you for working so hard Agent Oh. You're a wonderful spy...and daughter." He chuckled, looking at the silver haired man.

Min Jung saluted, her back straight as a board. "Yes sir. Min Jung is glad to have worked with you Agent Thao, Agent Big Head, Agent Minnie and Agent Silver Man!"

She unbuckled her belt and waited until the silver haired man got out before scooting over the seats to get out.

"I-I'll make sure she gets there safely. Get ready to drive off once I come back."

They nodded, and he closed the door. Without much thought, she held his hand, skipping every now and then. People were too busy trying to return from their lunch break to care. It felt as if after three days, people didn't care about the missing, letting the burden fall back onto the family. They crossed the large intersection, nearing the company.

"You know, your hands are very soft and warm, just like Lulu's. Your eyes are sparkly and pretty too."

The silver haired man laughed lightly, reaching the parking lot of the building.

"You know, Min Jung, I'm going to miss you a lot after this."

She looked up at him, her unknowing eyes asking. "Why? Are you going far away too? Just like Lulu?"

He nodded. She didn't miss the tears.

They entered the building, receiving shocked gasps from the receptionists. Luhan looked at the woman. "Call Oh Sehun down please. I've brought Min Jung back." She scrambled to her phone, being the only one working at the moment.

Time around the two froze, washed out by whiteness. Their focus only on each other. Min Jung stared for what seemed to be an eternity into his light hazel eyes as if searching for a deep mystery hidden within them. The silver haired man had been a mystery to her the whole time she was with them. He seemed familiar, but it had only dawned onto her now who he might be. She felt her own tears hanging by a thread, breath hitching into a hiccup, daring herself to hope it was who she was thinking of. She watched as his hand, seeming to be in slow motion, made its way up to his face. His hoodie had been down the moment he stepped in. She watched as he slid the mask off, his smile bright. Her lips folded in, eyes crunching.

"Lulu..." she said, voice instantly soft. Her charming eyes falling victim to the many emotions she was feeling. Hurt, happy, sad.

He nodded.

"Yeah. Hey Min Jung."

"Are you an angel now?"

He didn't answer. "I think this is going to be the last time I ever see you again."

He stopped and wiped her tears. He held the back of her head and brought her in closer to kiss her forehead where he knew she liked being kissed most. Though it was a special spot reserved only for her dad, she let him. Luhan was special too.

"Why? Why can't you stay?"

"Your dad, your uncles and you are going to get hurt if I do."

"But without you, Hun Hun is sad and, and so is Min Jung!"

He nodded in understanding. "I know, Luhan is too. Luhan was extremely happy to be here with you, your uncles and your dad. Before, I was so lonely and sad, but being with you all, it made me extremely happy, I wanted to protect you all from evil, even though I was supposed to be evil and help the bad guys. Luhan almost died, but I recovered because I didn't want to leave doing nothing to help. I have to go. It's for the best."

She wiped his tears as well, hugging him in the process. "No. No! Please, don't go! Don't go, mothers, no, dads don't leave their children behind! Even though Min Jung wasn't made and sleeping in your tummy, I still love Lulu like he did! Tell the Best to find his own Lulu!"

Luhan's smile disappeared, holding her tighter in his embrace. "I know. I know. I'm a bad person. But I have to leave so you don't get dragged down with me! So you don't get hurt either! I'm so sorry baby girl!"

"Min Jung!"

The surreal whiteness disappeared, bringing them back to earth. Time chimed awake, to continue.

"Who are you?!"

Luhan let go of Min Jung, her protesting cries becoming shrill and loud. He turned and ran out of the building as fast as he could. He knew this wasn't supposed to be how it went. This wasn't it.

Sehun stared, holding Min Jung. She pushed and clawed away from him, something he wasn't expecting.

"No! Let go Hun! Let go!" She broke free, nearly making it out the doors. Her face was red, both eyes and nose running while she screamed and cried. Sehun held her by the hand, crying as well.

"Where are you going?"

"We have to go! We have to go! It's Lulu! Please!"

At the name, Sehun let her drag him off running off towards the intersection. The light turned red and they were forced to stay. Sehun's eyes scanned anxiously within the crowds, blinking hard to rid his vision of tears. People watched as she jumped in place, from far off, looking like she was throwing a fit. But she was desperate. Once she lost sight of the silver head, she finally retreated into her father's arms. She cried. Strangers finally now realizing that this may be the reunion between the father and kidnapped daughter. Sehun kissed her forehead, wrapping her in his hold. They stayed put even though the light turned green. Spectators were forced to rip their eyes off and move along.

"He's gone daddy! He's gone! Lulu isn't coming back! He left! He left! Lulu's gone!"

She repeated. Knowing that he had missed Luhan as well made him angry at himself. What made him even more emotional was that he had caught a glimpse of the very person whom he thought was no longer alive. Luhan was alive, but he'd no longer be a part of his life. That was enough to hurt and emotionally scar him for what seems to will be an eternity.

Why, was all he could ask. Why.
