Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 26
Jaejoong didn’t know it but to Tiffany, he had uttered the magic words. He loved her. He needed her. Only god knows how she wished to hear those words from him again, even though it was wrong. He was hurting from his past & she had never been one to put her own needs first. She was a strong girl liked her mother always said. She had to help him get his life back together. Jaejoong had proved he loved her by the way he treated her in the last eight days. Her heart admitted it even though her mind tried to deny it. He treated her as his princess, ‘One hug with Sunny can’t destroy your romance that easily.’ Her heart reminded her.
She looked at his figure disappearing slowly from her sight. She called him loudly with a racing heart, “Jaejoong Oppa!”
He stopped without turning his head & waited.
Tiffany ran to him, putting her arms around his waist tightly, “Don’t go.”
He was shocked. Hesitating, Jaejoong turned his body to face her, “I do understand if you don't want me but I want…”
“So, we understand each other.” Tiffany quickly interrupted him. She blinked & gave him a beautiful smile between her tears.
He smiled back & shook his head in disbelief, “You don’t know what you’re talking about. As you said, our game is finished. You…”
“You are cheating, Oppa.” She tried to ease the tension between them.
Jaejoong raised his eyebrow dumbly, “What?”
“Today is the last day. It’s true but we still have another three hours to go to finish this game & you can't go off now.” She smile again, trying to make him believe her.
Taking in a deep breath, he said gently, “You don’t understand what I’m talking about. You should…”
“Give me back my ring!” She demanded, reaching out her hand.
Jaejoong stared at her in silent. When he saw her tears behind her gorgeous smile he understood. She felt the same way as he do, ‘Thank you, god. Thank you.’ He muttered, under his breath endlessly. He closed his eyes, muttering his gratefulness again. He finally grinned back. Reaching down, he took her hands gently, pushing the ring on her finger again. They both stared at her hand.
“This is so lovely, Oppa. Thank you.” Tiffany whispered. She couldn’t do much to fight back her own feelings about him. She realized now how deeply she loved him. It wasn’t sympathy or that she pity him. It feels great when she hears the magic words from his mouth. He loved her. She didn’t want to think whether he uttered those words to trap her & she didn’t care if he was only playing a game with her. However, deep inside her heart, she believed Jaejoong was sincere. She believed he told her the truth. She could tell from his eyes when they were staring at hers. Eyes never lied.
“Fany.”
She turned her gaze from the ring to his eyes.
Jaejoong watched the light from the bedside lamp flicker over her face, noticed the way she had angled her chin up slightly, ‘She is really the most beautiful creature in the world.’ His heart said, “Is it a dream, Fany?” He muttered in a trembling voice.
She grimaced & laughed. She pinched his arm hard.
“Ouch.” He reacted instantly.
She laughed, showing her perfect teeth, “Now you know it’s not a dream okay?”
Jaejoong shook his head again, with a dazzling smile on his lips. He slowly moved closer to hug her. His fingers caressed the softness of her face with a butterfly-softness that stirred answering flares of need inside of her.
He watched as she colored with embarrassment as she met his eyes.
There was silence for a moment.
Tiffany reached out her arms to lock them around his neck slowly. Their eyes met again. They could see love had come between them.
True love.
Suddenly, he lowered his eyes. He seemed to gather enough energy to say something to her. After a few seconds, he lifted his face up & stared at her seriously, “Fany, I want to tell you something. It’s important for you to know. I don’t want to keep this as a secret.”
Tiffany knitted her eyebrows. She watched his eyes darken slightly & took in a deep breath secretly, “What is it? Don’t look so serious, will you? You are making me nervous.” She looked over, trying to read what he had been thinking of.
Still circling both of his arms around her waist, he said, “I admit I have a few girlfriends before you. My last fiance, Sunny, left me on the day we met at the first time in my father's office. That’s why I was so rude to you on that day. Sorry.” He pleaded, with his eyes.
Tiffany nodded, caressing the back of his neck.
“Why didn’t you marry her? I heard you cancelled your wedding all of a sudden.”
Jaejoong raked a hand through his hair, “Eight days before the wedding, I found out she betrayed me.” His voice trailed off, “Honestly, I did care for her. I loved her.” He paused, taking in a deep breath.
His words made her heart turn over. He admitted he loved Sunny. She glanced away from the intensity of his eyes, not wanting to think that far ahead
