Chapter 1

A gorgeous young man with a designer black suit on his body walked more rapidly to the tallest building in Korea. He gave his sour oval-shaped face to everyone who greeted him since the main entrance. He was the only son of Hyunwoo Kim, the legendary top lawyer in Seoul. His name was Kim Jaejoong, a genius & brilliant lawyer like his father.

Jaejoong, who was speeding down the highway towards his father’s office, couldn’t hide his anger. His life was shattered. Only last week, he had everything, a perfect career, perfect family & a perfect fiance. He was twenty-eight, the future owner of Kim & Son Law Firm, the number one ranked in the country, with a lot of envy & admiring friends & with a prospect of marrying a famous movie star, Sunny Lee Sunkyu, next Sunday. Then today, it had all vanished.

A sudden cancellation of a business trip had left him free to buy a bouquet of white roses & a box of chocolate for his lovely future wife. With a smile curved on his soft, round, plump pink lips, he stepped foot on her apartment without calling her. He just wanted to give her a big surprises as he always did but he found her with Park Yoochun, his ex rival in law school, entangled on the sofa.

He couldn’t forget the most hurtful scene in front of his hazel brown, almond-shaped eyes. He didn’t say any word & kept his mouth shut while his eyes stared at his fiance in disbelief.

“Joongie Oppa!” Sunny shrieked in horror, while buttoning up her linen big blue shirt quickly.

“What a coincidence, Kim Jaejoong.” Yoochun said, breathing hard to get his normal breath.

“It’s nothing, Oppa. It’s just a fling before our big day this week.” Sunny quickly said, letting out a deep sigh. She glanced at Yoochun, pleading him to help her.

Jaejoong kept staring at her & Yoochun in anger. She was expecting him to understand but he hadn’t. She & his rival had kicked his heart & pride into the dirt.

She was a liar. She was a big liar, , monster & all other dirty words that came into his mind.

“I don’t understand what you are talking about, Sunny. Our relationship is finished. It’s turned to rubbish like these flowers.” Jaejoong said, squeezing the flowers in his hand harshly.

“Oppa, don’t be too serious. Really. It’s only a fling. Believe me, darling. We have a big day this Sunday.” Sunny tried to persuade him with her beautiful smile.

“There are no longer a big day. It’s finished. I believe you’re not stupid to understand what my words meant!” “Kim Jaejoong! I can sue you for breaching of promise! You promise to marry me & it has to be done this Sunday!” She raised her voice, losing her patience already. Jaejoong was usually a kind-hearted man & she knew he loved her too much to refuses all she wanted. All this time, he always agreed with her without arguing.

“Hold your breath, sweetie. I’m not scared. Just file a suit & I will fight you in court.” He said, while walking towards the door.

“You bastard!” She yelled at him, throwing her black flat shoes at him.

Jaejoong just laughed bitterly.

“Don’t forget to close the door, my friend.” Yoochun said in a relax position.

“Chunnie Oppa. Don’t make him anymore angier okay?” Sunny said, frustrated with this incident. She didn’t expect Jaejoong to visit her. He should have had a business trip to Australia but who knew he would come to her house & catch her with her secret boyfriend, Yoochun “You stupid! We lost our treasure. He won’t give me money. Our plan is destroyed.” She whispered into Yoochun’s ear.

“I have another plan to deal with Kim.” He whispered back.

Jaejoong slammed the door & walked towards his white lamborghini & then speed all the way home.

Jaejoong opened the front door & found his mother crying again. He took in a deep breath. Lately, his mother was crying without any reason. He tried to persuade her to tell him what made her upset but she refused to. His mother had a soft heart, ‘Something terrible must have happened.’ He thought.

“Mom, what’s bothering you?”

Jimin Kim turned her head, looking at him. She shook her head, trying to hide her sadness.

“Don’t try to lie to me. It won’t work. I know you.” He paused, forcing a smile on his face. He had a bad day & he went home, hoping to get a mother’s touch but now, he found that he was the one who supposed to cheer his mother up.

“Your father has a scandal.” His mother said softly.

He was shocked, ‘Scandal? My father?’ He wondered.

“Mom, what do you mean?”

“He’s having an affair with a girl now.”

His eyes widened. He raised his thick eyebrows. He stared at his mother in disbelief, “Are you sure? Dad isn’t those kind of men. He’s loyal to you, mom.”

“But not anymore.” Mrs. Kim said, between her tears, “I’ve hired a private investigator because I found him acting weird lately. The detective gave me a full report this morning, saying that your father has an affair with a young girl.”

He heard the words & stared at his mother in horror, “Oh, god.”
