Six.

Let's Camp!

(A/N: If you've not read the previous chapter, go back as this a double update)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“It only takes a minute, girl, to fall in love~ to fall in love~” cue humming where the words were not known.

Sehun groggily opened his eyes to see Luhan already sitting up and getting ready. The elder’s hair was damn – clearly he’d been for a shower – and he was now sitting there dressed in a plain blue tee and boxers, towel drying said hair and singing-slash-humming along to Take That.

Leaning over and grabbing his phone, Sehun groaned at seeing it was only seven in the morning.

“Why are you awake?!” he groaned to Luhan, who jumped at the sound of Sehun’s voice, “And why are you so happy?!”

Luhan laughed, “Well, for starters the weather is awesome! So I can wear shorts today. Second, I have signaaaaaaaal!” he waved his phone at Sehun, “And third, I just got the cutest text from my friend Yongguk!” he giggled, “So that’s why I’m happy. I’m up so early because you were really warm and it’s hot out and the heat woke me up and I couldn’t get back sleep, so yeah....”

“Oh...” Sehun said, feeling a little uneasy for some reason. He just passed it off as left over embarrassment from the kiss the night before, “What, uh, what did he say?”

Luhan grinned, throwing his phone over to Sehun before starting to dry his hair again.

Frowning, Sehun picked up the phone and read the message;

From: Gukkie
Luhannieee!!<3
How’s camp so far? Guess who I’m stuck with? Teacher Park Yoochun.
The guy is so weird, I swear. Who have you got?
I’m tenting with Himchan, so yay!
I should stop sending long texts, but oh well, I know you love it!!
Make sure you keep smiling, cutie!
I looooove you!!!!<3<3

Sehun frowned a little. It was a harmless message, but why did he feel like he wanted to punch someone for it? It must have been the grogginess he felt because of waking up early. He glance over at Luhan who was now singing;

Let it gooooo, let it goooooo and I’ll rise like the break of dawn! Let it gooooo, let it gooooo, that perfect girl is gone!!!

Sehun didn’t feel like telling him he was singing as though he were the girl... But then, he had to smile because, come on, Frozen was a pretty damn good film.

Looking back at the phone, Sehun scrolled down to see if Luhan had replied to the guy. He had.

MegaMaaaaaan!!!<3
Yoochun? Urgh, good luck! Did you have your check in yet?
I’ve got Kim Junmyeon, so it’s pretty good here. He’s so cute~^^
I’m sharing with Oh Sehun, you know him right?
I do love it, I really do :3
Awwww, Gukkie! Stop it you~ You’ll make me blush, kekeke
I love you more!!!<3<3

Sehun’s frown deepened as he scrolled to see what ‘Gukkie’ – he scoffed at the nickname – had said back.

06.32

From: Gukkie
Oo, Mr. Kim, eh? He’s a sweet guy.
Good teacher too.
Oh Sehun? Oh the lispy kid? Ha, have fun. Don’t you hate him?
;) I love you most!!<3<3

Sehun tried his best not to outwardly scream at the phone. Who did this guy think he was?! Lispy kid?! Who was he calling lispy? Sehun’d seen him around and he was pretty sure the guy had the gummiest smile on the planet, so he could just... shush.

Scrolling down again, what he saw made him smile slightly. Only a little though, like, it wasn’t a big deal to him or anything.

06.35

To: Gukkie
Haha, he is, but don’t be like that! So not my type!
He is a good teacher though. He has to be to deal with Chen :’)
Yes, but hey! Don’t make fun! His lisp is really cute >//<
I don’t hate him! It’s... complicated, we’re sort of, friends(?) now...
Not possible! D: <3<3

Realising he probably shouldn’t be looking through Luhan’s messages, he quickly clicked off of them and went back to Luhan’s home screen. He didn’t know what he was expecting, maybe a picture of Luhan himself? Because Luhan struck him as the type – although, Kai did that too, so... – but it wasn’t what he saw.

Luhan’s background turned out to be a picture of some of the guys. It was a group shot taken whilst they’d been camping. Luhan was sat next to Chen, who had Xiumin sitting on his lap holding up a peace sign. Kris was behind them, grinning with his arm slung around Tao, who was smiling with pink cheeks. Lay was squishing his face up to Luhan’s and pouting cutely. But what made Sehun smile was how Luhan had purposely angled the camera so that the others were in the photo too. In the background you could see Suho, noticing they were taking a picture, so smiling with a peace sign next to his face and a clipboard in his other hand. Then Sehun saw his own friends; Chanyeol was smiling widely, with Baekhyun on his back, kissing his cheek. Next to them, Kai was looking sheepishly at Kyungsoo who was flashing him a heart-shaped smile and then there was Sehun himself. He was stood next to Kai with a small smile. His hand on Kai’s shoulder as he said something he couldn’t remember. It really was a nice picture.

“Are you done? Or are you doing to stare at my wallpaper all day?” Luhan asked cheekily.

Sehun looked over and noticed the guy was dressed now, in that blue tee and now a pair of white and blue shorts and his hair was pretty much dry and styled.

“Right, sorry” the younger coughed, handing the phone back to Luhan, “So uh, how did you shower when I wasn’t awake to buddy you?” he asked before he could stop himself.

Luhan looked a little taken aback but quickly composed himself, “Oh, Yixing was up, so we went and showered together” he said. “I didn’t want to wake you” he smiled softly, “But I can be your buddy now if you like?”

“What? Oh, no, it’s fine. I’ll get Jongin to come with me” and with that, he grabbed his toiletry back, his towel, some clean clothes and made his way out of the tent.

He didn’t bother to be quiet as he opened Kyungsoo and Kai’s tent and popped his head in. He found that Kyungsoo was already awake and playing a game on his phone.

He looked up and smiled at Sehun, “Oh hey, Sehunnie, what’s up?”

“Came to get Kai. Need a buddy” Sehun offered in terms of explaination, letting himself into the tent.

Kyungsoo frowned, “It’s still pretty early and he’s sleeping... Can’t you wait?”

“I can, but I’m not going to” Sehun said before diving on his best friend and continuing on to punch and kick him until he finally started to fight back.

“ing hell, what do you want?!” Kai said, shoving Sehun off of him and sitting up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

Sehun grinned, “Get your , we’re going to shower” he grinned

It took a little while, but Sehun finally had Kai out of his tent with his things and they headed over to the showers, making a quick stop to brush their teeth first.

They hung their things up on hooks, grabbed their shampoos and soaps and walked over to the largest shower cubicle and the water.

“Just so you know, you’re the worst best friend ever” Kai  huffed, waiting for the water to warm up enough before stepping under it.

Sehun laughed, pushing Kai out of the way slightly to get under the water too, “You know you love me anyway though” he smiled.

“You’re lucky you’re right” Kai groaned.

--

Lay looked over at Suho as the teacher looked over his plan for the trip, humming and ah-ing as he did.

“What are we doing today?” Lay asked, crawling over and hugging Suho from behind, letting his chin rest on the elder’s shoulder.

Suho smiled softly, turning his head to look at Lay, “Not too much, we’re going to play the owl and mouse game, then we’ll be telling ghost stories later on”

“What’s the owl and mouse game?” Lay asked, pressing his nose to Suho’s cheek.

Suho hummed softly at the touch, “You’ve never played it?” he asked, met with the shake over Lay’s head, “I’ll explain it properly later. It’s really easy though. I used to play it when I was a kid”

“Well, if it’s a game where I can’t possibly fall over, I’m sure I’ll love it” Lay said, letting his lips rest against Suho’s neck, not quite kissing it, but rather just letting them press against it.

Suho bit his lip to keep from smiling, “Actually... there is a chance you might fall over. There’s a blindfold involved” he chuckled.

“” Lay murmured against Suho’s neck, making Suho laugh, “Sorry, I honestly didn’t mean to say that” Lay smiled.

Suho only rolled his eyes, “Of course. You’re very distracting by the way... I’m trying to work”

“Work later. It’s only seven-thirty...” Lay whispered softly, “I’ll even help you”

Suho let out a small whimper. Lay was going to be the death of him, he just knew it. It had been all of two days since they’d become... whatever they were and the younger boy already knew how to push all of his buttons.

Honestly, he was a little surprised at first, at how different Lay could be. But it was all a good kind of surprise. There was a part of him that was nagging at the back of his mind, that it was wrong of them to be like this, that it was stupid and dangerous. But still, he couldn’t regret that he’d been happier over the past couple of days. He liked how Lay was more comfortable with him now that everything was all out in the open between them. He liked how cheeky Lay could be, and how soft spoken he was. He loved how although young, Lay was very mature and thought like an adult. He was way beyond his years, which helped to settle Suho’s inner turmoil somewhat. He liked waking up to seeing Lay too, and upon seeing how sweet and peaceful the boy looked on the morning after their chat, he couldn’t help but press soft feathery kisses to the boys face.

He was a gonner, and he knew it.

“You’ll be the death of me” Suho groaned, leaning back into Lay’s chest.

Lay laughed airily, “I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration, Junmyeon~ but I’ll take it you’re taking a break?”

“You say that like you’re giving me a choice” Suho muttered, closing his eyes and smiling slightly as he placed his hands over Lay’s.

And had he mentioned how much he loved the way that Lay said his name?

“I did give you a choice” Lay scoffed playfully, “It’s not my fault you have no will power”

Suho chuckled, “I do so, just not when it comes to you” he defended himself.

“Mm, I’m sure” Lay whispered, leaning to press soft kisses to Suho’s cheek and jaw.

Suho hummed happily as Lay’s lips continued to ghost over his face softly, sometimes leaving quick pecks, sometimes lingering a little before moving on, then to Suho’s pleasant surprise, Lay’s lips pressed to the corner of his mouth, before one of Lay’s hands came up to tilt Suho’s face so that he could kiss him full on the mouth.

Smiling against Lay’s lips, Suho instantly kissed the younger back, feeling rather content in the moment.

“Is this what I have to look forward to every morning now?” Suho whispered against Lay’s lips.

The younger boy hummed, “Depends if I’m feeling nice or not” he teased lightly, moving around so that he was now in front of Suho.

Gently, Lay pushed Suho to lie down, then moved on top of him, careful not to crush him in the process. He had a leg on either side of Suho’s hips as he leant down to connect their lips again, revelling in the feeling of Suho’s hands moving under his shirt slightly to hold onto his waist as they kissed.

“The others will be up soon” Suho said reluctantly after a long while.

Lay frowned, moving slightly to bury his face in Suho’s neck, “Mm, they will be.”

“We should get up” Suho prompted.

Lay hummed again, “We should.

“Yixing”

“Junmyeon”

“Come on, don’t do this to me” Suho whined a little, making Lay laugh.

“Okay, okay” he smiled, moving off of the elder, “You’re such a baby, I swear”

Suho pouted, “Am not”

--

The twelve of them stood in the middle of the grassy activities area. Suho was holding something in his hand, but the boys couldn’t really see what it was. They knew they’d be some sort of game, but they didn’t know what – well apart from Lay.

“Alright!” Suho piped up with a bright smile, glancing at Lay subtly, “So we’re going to be playing owl and mouse. Does anyone know how to play?” he asked.

Kris’s, Luhan’s and Kyungsoo’s hands went up.

“Brilliant!” Suho beamed, “Alright, Luhan, do you want to explain it to the others?”

Luhan nodded, “Sure sir. Okay, so basically we all stand in a big circle, whilst two people go in the middle. One is the owl, one if the mouse. The owl gets blindfolded and has to look for the mouse until you catch it. Then everyone in the circle acts as the trees and we’ll shout out hot, cold or warm depending on how close you are to the mouse, then you switch”

“Perfect, so everyone get into a circle and hold hands” Suho said.

Lay automatically grabbed Chen’s hand and grinned at his best friend who just winked at him, before taking Xiumin’s hand with his free on. Xiumin grabbed Luhan, who’s other hand was taken surprisingly by Sehun, who was already attached by the hand to Kai, followed by Kyungsoo, who hand Baekhyun’s hand in his. On Baekhyun’s other side was Chanyeol, then Kris, who looked oddly excited – the dork – on the other side of him was Tao, who tentively reached out to hold Suho’s hand, who joined the circle fully by linking hands with Lay – who tried not to squeak.

“Okay, walk back as far as possible without letting go, then stop” Suho said, taking a few steps back until they were all straining to keep their hands linked, “Alright now let go” he laughed and everyone sighed in relief.

“I thought my arm was gonna fall off” Kai complained, making Sehun laugh.

Suho just rolled his eyes, “Who wants to be the owl first?” he asked, looked to see who would put their hand up.

Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Kris’s hands went up.

“Jongdae, come into the middle then” Suho said, “And the mouse?”

This time, Kris, Chanyeol, Kai, Lay, and Tao’s hands went up.

“Hmmm, Yixing, go on then” he said and Lay skipped happily over to Chen, who pulled him into a hug, lifted him off the floor slightly and span him around, making Suho frown, “Jongdae, you’ll need to put this on” he said, stopping the boy in his act, and throwing the blindfold to him.

Chen quickly put on the blindfold with the help of Lay, who quickly ran off to the otherside of the circle, near Baekhyun, and grinned as Chen set about finding him.

“COLD” Luhan and Xiumin shouted happily, finding it highly amusing as Chen stumbled over his own feet and his arms went everywhere trying to find Lay.

“I want you to know, I have a specific set of skills, XingXing! I will find you, and I will tickle you!” Chen called out as he heard Lay giggle and run away. “Okay, everyone say really, really quiet!”

It was almost funny how silent everyone went. Lay stayed dead still, not even breathing as Chen started to walk towards him, closer and closer until he was right in front of him. Lay tried to manoeuvre his way out, but Chen’s arm came out and grabbed him around the middle, pulling him into his chest, making Lay shriek and giggle. He pulled off the blindfold and shoved it over Lay’s head.

“Told you I’d get you Xing-ah~” Chen teased, planting a big kiss on Lay’s grinning face.

Lay laughed, wiping his cheek, “Ew, you’re so stupid” he said, relaxing into Chen’s hold.

Suho coughed, making them turn to face him, Lay blushed deeply as he did, “Alright, Chen, give the blindfold to Kai. Sehun, you’re the mouse, into the middle you go!”

With that, Lay and Chen made their way back to their places – after Chen took the blindfold from Lay’s head and handed it to Kai – whilst Sehun and Kai took their places in the middle.

Kai shoved the blindfold over his eyes and grinned, “Get ready Sehunnie, ‘cause you’re going down!”

“Yehet! You wish” Sehun laughed, dancing around the grass as Kai set off trying to find him.

The two of them continued like that, occasionally throwing insults at one another until finally the others shouted “HOT” and Kai tackled Sehun to the floor.

They went around playing it for a while. Luhan went in with Kris. Tao with Kyungsoo. Lay went in a second time with Chanyeol, then forced Baekhyun and Xiumin to go. Chan laughed especially hard when Xiumin accidently tripped Baekhyun over. It carried on like that, them joking about, shoving each other into the circle and shouting loudly when the ‘owl’ was close to the ‘mouse’.

When it got the finally round, the boys all looked at Suho grinningly.

“What?” Suho asked, feeling rather scared all of a sudden.

It was Chanyeol that spoke up for the group when he said “Get in the middle sir, it’s your turn to be the owl”

“What? No, I, No, Chanyeol... This... I...” Suho stuttered as he felt himself being pulled into the middle and the blindfold was shoved over his eyes.

He stood there and listened as the others argued over who would be the mouse until finally he heard Chen shout “Everyone shut up!” and he was met with silence, “Lay’s gonna be the mouse, so just zip it”

“What? Dae, I don’t think... I... stop pushing me! Chen! I... Urgh, fine, just get off of me, you douche!” Lay huffed, pushing Chen away from him and moving into the circle. “Ready when you are, sir” he sighed, moving so not to be caught.

Hesitantly, Suho began to move around the circle, his arms stretched out in front of him, making the others laugh.

“Warm” several voices called, and Suho turned, walking forward a few paces, “Colder”

He bit his lip in concentration as he turned back and heard them call out “Warmer!”

He took a couple of nervous steps forward. He tutted at himself, this was stupid. He was their teacher, it was perfectly reasonable for him to join in with the game, it wasn’t like anyone would guess he and Lay were in a less than conventional relationship just because of a little game. Taking a steadying breath as subtly as he could with all the eyes that were lingering on him, he reached out as they called out;

“Hotter!!” and before he knew it, he could feel the soft fabric of Lay’s shirt, and beneath it, he could feel the frantic beating of Lay’s heart. It made him happy to know he wasn’t the only one that was nervous about the whole thing.

Tightening his hold on Lay, he used his free hand to take of the blindfold, “Got you” he said quietly enough for the others not to hear, making Lay smile widely.

“Thank you do” he whispered back, as the others all ran over and started slapping Suho on the back, and congratulating him, whilst Chen picked up Lay and ran away with him, making the others laugh like mad.

And Suho couldn’t help but laugh with them.

--

“Put me down!” Lay whined as Chen carried him into his and Xiumin’s tent, setting Lay down on the sleeping bag.

A soft laugh left his lips, “Sorry sweetheart, I forget you’re sensitive”

“Am not” Lay huffed, “Why’d you carry me off anyway?” he asked, watching as Chen sat down beside him.

Chen shrugged, “I feel like I’ve hardly seen you since we got here. You spend all your time with Mr. Kim now” he said, glancing at Lay who looked a little lost for words.

“I... Oh. I didn’t think I was with him that much? I’ve been playing with you and stuff in free time, haven’t I?”

“Xing, you spent most of yesterday in your tent being coddled by sir because you said you were sick. You only came out towards the end of the day” Chen sighed, “I thought we were gonna have fun together whilst we’re here...”

Lay felt guilty hearing that. He felt really guilty because Chen was right, that had agreed it would be fun for them both to do some best friend bonding whilst they were camping, but it kind of fell through. Lay hadn’t really planned it all out, but he didn’t expect Suho and himself to spend as much time as they did together. Things had just, not gone to plan, really. He didn’t mean to abandon his best friend in the midst of starting something stupid with his teacher, it just kind of... happened.

Taking Chen’s hand in his own, Lay let out a soft sigh, “I’m sorry” he said, “I guess I’ve been kind of a crappy best friend since we got here, huh?”

“Yeah, the worst” Chen huffed, sticking out his bottom lip cutely, making Lay smile because he knew that meant Chen wasn’t really mad at him.

“I love you, ChenChen” Lay laughed, pulling the younger boy into a tight hug.

Chen rolled his eyes as he returned the hug, “Yeah, I love you too, Xing” he smiled, kissing Lay on the cheek sweetly.

“I know you do, I’m fabulous” Lay laughed, pulling back out of the hug with a cheeky grin on his face.

They sat in the tent for while after that, just chatting and laughing about silly things until finally Chen’s face turned a little more serious.

“Xing...” he said, “Can I ask you something?”

Lay nodded, slightly curious about what had turned Chen serious all of a sudden, “Sure, go ahead”

“Well, you’ve been... happier the past few days... I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m glad, but you don’t seem as down as usual.” Chen said, “I know it’s probably nothing serious, but is it to do with Mr. Kim?”

Lay blinked, not really sure what to do. Chen was the only one that knew how hard things were for Lay a lot of the time. Not only had the boy suffered from anxiety disorder, but he’d had his ups and downs with depression too. He knew Chen was looking out for him, but the fact he’d noticed so easily was more touching that he thought it would be, and he only realised how much it touched him when Chen looked more worried and reached over to wipe something away from his face.

“Don’t cry, Xing-ah” Chen said softly, pulling Lay into another hug, “I didn’t mean to upset you”

Lay shook his head as he buried it in Chen’s neck, letting himself be soothed as Chen gently ran his fingers through Lay’s hair, “I’m not upset, stupid” Lay choked out, his voice thick, “I just... I forget sometimes how much you know me, you know? And how much you really do look after me. You mean a lot to me, you know, Jongdae. Really” his arms tightened around Chen’s waist.

“I know, I know. And the last thing I want is for you to get hurt, Xing, that’s why I asked if he’s the reason you’re happy. I don’t... I don’t want you to get too invested in him and then only end up getting hurt. Just... be careful, okay? Please?” Chen said, resting his cheek against Lay’s hair.

Lay nodded “I will be, don’t worry”

Chen opened his mouth to say something back, but was interrupted when the tent door was ped and Suho popped his head in. “Hey, we’re jus- oh.” He coughed awkwardly, his eyes not leaving Lay’s, who had turned around when he heard Suho’s voice, “Am I interrupting something?” he asked, looking worried as he took in Lay’s red and puffy eyes.

“No” Lay answered, making Chen frown slightly as he moved away from his best friend, “No, we were just talking. What’s up?”

Suho didn’t look convinced, but didn’t push it, “Food’s ready. And we’re going to tell ghost stories afterwards” he said, “You should come and join us, now”

The boys both nodded before scrambling out of the tent after Suho.

“Jongdae, go ahead, I just want a word with Yixing” Suho said as they stood up properly once out of the tent.

Chen hesitated for a moment, looking a Lay who just nodded slightly before sighing and making his way over to sit next to Xiumin, accepting the food the elder offered him.

“What’s wrong?” Suho asked, pulling Lay away slightly so they were out of earshot.

Lay shook his head, bringing a hand up to wipe at his eyes, “Nothing, I swear. I just... got a bit emotional, that’s all”

“Are you sure..? You... Do you want to talk about it?” the elder asked, biting his lip nervously, making Lay laugh.

Lay smiled, and shook his head again, sounding a lot happy than he looked when he spoke, “I’m okay, honestly. Chen was just being all nice and stuff and, they were mostly happy tears, I promise”

“Well... Okay, but just know that you can come talk to me if you need to, okay? About anything” Suho said, the concern not quite gone from him face.

Lay though, smiled and once he was sure nobody was looking, took Suho’s hand and kissed the elder’s palm before dropping it again, “I know, thank you. Really. But we should get back...”

“Right” Suho nodded, looking a little more relaxed than he did moments ago as the two of them sat with the others and dug in to the food.

Once they’d finished eating, Chen and Baekhyun washed all the pots and such, whilst Lay and Kai dried and put them away. The others helped Suho set up and light the campfire and sat around it, waiting for the other four to finish putting the clean pots away and join them.

By the time they were all gathered around the campfire, the sun was going down, casting an orange hue over the clearing.

“So, we’re doing ghost stories, as you all know” Suho smiled, handing out blankets to the others, as it seemed to be a cool night.

Once every pair had a blanket between them, and were all bundled up, Suho spoke up again as he wrapped a blanket around himself and Lay, who’s blush went unnoticed as he moved a little closer for warmth, “Who wants to go first?” he asked.

There was a brief pause before Xiumin said “Um, I will if nobody else has one...”

“Alright, Minseok, we’re ready when you are” Suho smiled, and then it was silent apart from the occasional whimper from Tao, but Kris soon had an arm around the younger to soothe him.

“Okay. So, there was this girl... She was a nice, friendly sort, someone you’d see always smiling and laughing. One night, she went home from school to find that her parents weren’t home. Not thinking much of it, she went about things as usual, making herself a snack, watching TV and so on. But as time passed she realised that they still weren’t back, and neither was her younger brother who was usually home first. Walking over to the phone, she picked it up and dialled her mum’s number. It rang a couple of times but nobody picked up. She was about to try again when the front door flew open!

“Running to look who was home, she found that nobody was there. She was getting a little scared by that point, it was already getting dark and the house was too quiet. She quickly closed and locked the front door when the phone rang. Hoping it was her parents, explaining where they were, she answered, but it wasn’t them. ‘Hello’ she answered nervously. There was a deep, bitter laugh on the other end of the phone, ‘have you been home long, Jenny?’ a raspy voice asked. ‘Who is this?!’ the girl demanded, ‘how do you know my name?’ but the voice only laughed again, ‘tell me, have you been up to check on your brother?’ it asked. The girl froze, ‘who are you?’ she whispered desperately, ‘what do you want?’ the voice laughed another time, ‘go up and check on your brother’ the voice demanded, ‘he’s waiting for you’ and with that the line went dead.

“Trying not to panic, the girl ran up the stairs to her brother’s room. She slowly opened to door to see her brother lying in bed. Sleeping. A wave of relief washed over the girl. The phone didn’t ring for the rest of the night until the door burst open again. It was the same routine as before, only this time it was a different voice. ‘Hello?’ the girl answered. ‘Hello’ the voice on the other end of the line said, ‘this is the police. We’ve had a number of calls complaining of loud noises and shouts coming from this address? Is everything okay ma’am?’ the girl frowned, ‘yes, officer, everything’s fine’ she replied slightly confused. The officer on the other end of the line sighed, ‘alright ma’am, but we’ve been told it looked like there was a fight going on in the front upstairs bedroom, are you sure nothing’s happened?’ the girl’s frown deepened then, ‘no’ she answered, ‘that’s my parent’s room and they’re not home from work yet’. There was a pause, ‘okay, we’re going to send someone out to be sure, alright? The girl answered a quick ‘okay’ before hanging up the phone.

“Only she noticed a smudge of something on it. Looking at her hand she saw she was bleeding. She wasn’t sure when she’d cut herself, but she quickly went upstairs to wash her hands anway. Only she was distracted as she got to the landing. Her parents bedroom door seemed to be open. Walking over to peak in, she noticed who lumps of something on the floor. She flicked on the light to see both her parents’ bodies, lifelessly on the floor covered in blood. With a hand over , she stumbled out of the room, quickly to her brothers to see her was still asleep in bed, only when she turned the light on, she found he wasn’t sleeping at all... He was dead. Blood covering him, like their parents. Running to the bathroom, the girl clamped her hands on the either side of the sink and coughed violently. She noticed that her hands were covered in blood and so was her shirt.

“Ever so slowly, she looked up into the mirror... Only the face that was looking back... Wasn’t hers.” Xiumin finished, “The end!”

Everyone looked at the boy wide eyed. Not really sure what to say, and it was making Xiumin uncomfortable, being stared at like that wasn’t fun.

“Guys, quit staring! I know it was bad, but it’s burdensome when you all look at me like this!” he groaned, hiding his face in his hands.

Then, a choked sob cut through the silence and everyone turned to look at Tao, who had tears streaming down his face and was clutching to Kris like his life depended on it.

“Uh... Sir, is it okay if Tao swaps with Chanyeol tonight? He, uh, doesn’t like scary things...” Kris said awkwardly.

Suho nodded, “Of course he can. Tao, are you okay?”

“I... I’m f-f-fine” Tao sniffled, “C-can Kris and I go t-t-to bed now-w?”

Suho nodded, “Yes, you can. If you need anything, come and get me, okay?” he said, “Do you want a lamp to sleep with tonight, Tao?”

“Yes please” the younger boy nodded as he and Kris got to their feet, Kris wrapping the blanket around Tao.

Suho got up and quickly fetched Tao a small lamp to use before asking Chanyeol to go and swap his and Tao’s things over for the night then let everyone know they’d be ending the night a little earlier than planned, sending them all back to their tents.

Xiumin gave Tao a hug and apologised a thousand times before Chen managed to drag the elder away back to their own tent.

They each made their way into their tents, giving Suho the blankets back before they did.

Lay helped Suho to fold the blankets and put them all away before the two of them crawled into their own tent and zipped it up.

“That was some story time, huh?” Lay said as they changed into their night clothes.

Suho sighed, “You’re telling me” he said, pulling his shirt off and swapping it for a black wife-beater, “I feel really bad about Tao though, he should have told me he didn’t like scary stories.” He frowned.

“Hey, it’s not your fault. Tao’s like that. He thinks he can handle anything, but he’s just a big baby” Lay comforted the elder as he shrugged into his sweats for bed, then swapped his t-shirt for a lose vest top, “Besides, it was nice to see Xiumin talk properly for once”

“Xiumin?” Suho asked, a little confused as the two of them laid down in their respective bags.

Lay laughed, “Oh right, it’s a nickname that Luhan gave him” he explained, “It just kind of stuck”

“Ah” Suho nodded, “By the way, are you sure you’re okay... You know because of before. I mean I saw you were hugging Jongdae really tightly and you just looked really sad and I feel like I should have done more because I couldn’t really do anything, you know with people watching and I ju-” his rambling was cut off by Lay kissing him.

The younger boy pulled back and let his head rest on Suho’s chest, liking that Suho didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around him, “Stop worrying. I’m fine, I told you. Now go to sleep, Junmyeon” Lay yawned, closing his eyes and snuggling closer to Suho, “Goodnight”

“Goodnight, Xing-ah” Suho whispered, pressing a soft kiss to Lay’s forehead before letting sleep take him.

Chapter 14: I've been reading through this fic all week and I just had to comment on how much I LOVE your song choices for the talent show!! Especially "All for Love" by Sting, Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart!! That's one of my all time faves that hardly anyone seems to know! I have to ask if you found this sing from watching the 90s version of the three musketeers? You've clearly had an excellent pop culture education!! The story has been really sweet and well written so far. Im looking forward to finishing it and reading the sequel!
