“Hey! Johae, wait a sec!”   Chanyeol placed a hand on my shoulder and tugged me back from walking any further. He looked at me with a questioning look when I heard someone hollering my name down the hall from behind. He and I turned around to take a look of who it could have been. We found ourselves watching a female student running through the crowds of students, making her way to us. Looking up to Chanyeol, he was just as confused as I was since I don’t recall making any friends that are females so far. I’ve been stuck with the guys ever since I began attending there.   The female student was quite an individual. She was not dressed in the same uniform that all the female students wore in school. Instead of wearing skirts like us all, she had on pants. Her pants was a bit baggy, shirt slightly untucked, and she was wearing a very loose tie. Aside from her attire, she didn’t have her hair tied up like us – ponytails and pig tails. Her long, black silky hair was down, tossed over a shoulder – curled and all. Without a bother to put on any makeup, she had lens-less black frame that was as big as sunglasses.   “Uh, hi.” I awkwardly greeted her with a small smile, a bit intimidated by her outstanding looks.   She smiled at me warmly after she greeted Chanyeol, who had no clue on who she is since he babbled a ‘hello’ to her. She fixed the notebooks in her arms and hugged it against her chest. She waved a hand in the air, “If I startled you there, my apology.” She chuckled when Chanyeol and I shook our heads. “I called you a couple of times in the cafeteria but you didn’t seemed to have heard me.”   I remained silent as I only nodded my head. I didn’t know what to say.   “Anyway, I was asked to stay after class before lunch by our Chemistry teacher, Mr. Jung.” She shifted the notebooks in her arms into her hands. She glanced at Chanyeol and flashed him a quick smile before placing the notebooks right into his arms, causing him to mumble incoherently. “He reassigned the partners list for the weekend project. Turned out, our partners are best friends so they begged him to reassign them so they could be together. You and I are now partners and I would like to work on it soon.”   “O-Oh, if that’s the case then, I’m free to work on it whenever you want.” I began. “We have three weeks from now so when do you want to start on it? Also, where at? The library is fine with you?”   Chanyeol rolled his eyes as he took a step forward. He stuffed the notebooks right into her arms, which caused her to chuckle. “You can hold your own stuff. You have hands and arms for a reason.” He scoffed and turned around to face me. “I’ll be at my locker. Come find me when you’re done with… this.”   The girl chuckled. “Is he your boyfriend?”   “Chanyeol?” I pointed at Chanyeol, who had already walked away. “Oh, no. He’s just a close friend.”   “Just wondering.” She chuckled freely, once again. “Back to the project.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone. She handed it to me after she unlocked the screen. “Give me your number. I’ll schedule it with you once I’m done with this stupid essay that I need to finish. Most likely, I’ll be free this Friday right after school. Will you be free?”   I typed in my number. “I’m not free right after school since I have to help my aunt with some stuff. Will it be alright with you if we work on it in the evening? Also, um, I didn’t catch your name.”   She took her phone back and dialed my number so I would have her number. She ended the call when she saw my phone flashed with her number on the screen. She nodded at my phone, “Kim Subin. Text a copy of your schedule to me and I’ll have everything planned out. Be sure to include any project meet-ups that you have in your other classes. I wouldn’t want it to overlap with your other projects.”   “I’ll absolutely do that. Thanks for notifying me a
