The whole confession was supposed to be a step to test waters, to see if Daehyun had any feelings for Hyeri or not. I mean, if he had feelings for her, he would know what to do. Right?

Hyeri always wanted the guy to make the first move of asking the girl out even though it's the 21^st century and females did make first moves. She just merely wanted to say her feelings and probably let Daehyun take it from there. That is, if the feelings were mutual which was what Hyeri felt.

She could have hinted but judging the way that they were already behaving around each other (looking closer than just friends), she didn't know what should she do to show him she likes him without looking desperate and trying too hard. Besides, Hyeri wasn't someone who beats about the bush. She prefered being straightforward. She didn't want to sit and wait.

After a few minutes, Daehyun finally replied. Well, if an 'ok' was even considered a reply. Actually, what does OK actually mean here? Okay that it was just a prank? Okay that he acknowledged Hyeri's confession? OKAY WHAT?! WHAT DID IT MEAN?! Aish this Daehyun.

Hyeri then decided to call it a night. She still had to complete her work which she doubt she would even do it accurately.

The next day, Hyeri arrived at school later than usual. She kept her fingers crossed that their friendship wouldn't become awkward just because of last night's events. If she reached school too early, she wouldn't know how to act when the class wasn't filled with people and had to deal with the deafening silence between the both of them if things became sour.

Hyeri headed towards her seat and acknowledged Daehyun with a 'Hi' as usual, secretly wishing he would not bring up anything about yesterday's conversation to embarrass her. She wouldn't know how to deal with that.

“Hey. Quick lend me your english notes.” Daehyun held out his hand. Hyeri let out a laugh and dug her notes out and passed them to him.

She was surprised that things were going surprisingly well between the both of them. It was like yesterday didn't even happen at all. Maybe she was overthinking. It wasn't the norm for her to still be talking to someone she just confessed to like nothing happened. Two years ago, when she confessed to a senior (which she found out that it was probably admiration when the feelings she had for that senior didn't hit her like a truck as compared to with Daehyun. Daehyun was like a freaking aeroplane.), She couldn't even have a moment of eye contact with him much less an actual conversation. And that was only a small crush.

But now with Daehyun, she was surprised that she could talk to him like last time, well she only said hi but it wasn't as awkward as she thought it would be. It was comfortable, even though her heart always beat slightly faster when she is with him, everything else was comfortable and she didn't mind that she couldn't control her heart when she's with him.

She felt relieved that everything was normal, he didn't . The things she read online told her that some people, when they have feelings for someone, they tend to express themselves by teasing. But isn't that how kids behave? They were matured teenagers. It shouldn't apply to them right?

However, a part of Hyeri felt disappointed. Why didn't he say anything? It wasn't even a clear 'no, I have no feelings for you.' or a certain sign that he might have felt the same way. All she got was an OK. Hyeri was confused. She didn't know how to read Daehyun at all. She was lost. She didn't know how to move from there.

So she decided to observe some more. Yes, she was going for Mission X (She isn't the most creative person on earth to come up with fancy names), which was kind of back to square one, to observe for more signs. Why isn't Daehyun easy to read like a pre-school book? Why did he have to be a Greek book which she couldn't understand at all? Aish this Daehyun.

After three months of observing, Hyeri was even more confused. She didn't know what to think anymore. Daehyun was hot and cold towards her.  

There were times when he was a sweetheart, or rather just being himself by teasing her to no end, sharing food with her, ordering her food after school for her when they hung out with their friends. The both of them often sat side by side when they watched movies with their usual group. They would sometimes share their drinks and Hyeri often drank from Daehyun's water bottle by squeezing the bottle, not touching the tip. Daehyun had nagged at her before about bringing her own water bottle but she told him it was an extra weight she had to deal with and she secretly liked drinking from his bottle. It made her feel like they were close.

 Then, there were also times when Daehyun would ignore Hyeri, asking her to stop disturbing him and not touch his stuff. He would sometimes get irritated with her for whatever reason which Hyeri could not figure out. She didn't know if he meant his words or not but Hyeri didn't feel good whenever he treated her so indifferently.

How was she supposed to know what he was thinking and how he really felt about her when he kept sending mixed signals? 

Hyeri wasn't really sure when exactly it started but she noticed her group of guy friends, including Daehyun, were talking about those junior girls. She didn't even know where did they pop out from, they just did. Hyeri thought it was just harmless flirting and teasing since the girls reacted and they probably enjoyed the attention from the boys. 

Those girls would even walk past Hyeri's class during breaks to see the BAP boys. Hyeri tried to hide her feelings but deep down, she was upset. Who did those girls think they are? They were just juniors. Why are they always part of their conversations?

Hyeri then thought about her past. She had no right to get pissed off. After all, she was once a junior and she too did those things but aish! There are so many other guys! Why her friends?! Why must it be the guy she had feelings for? They were nerds for goodness sake. Even though Hyeri must admit, they are not bad looking, they were nerds!

It got on Hyeri's nerves when Daehyun would talk about those girls during class time when they had small talks. Was he being dumb? Wouldn't he know that Hyeri would feel down (jealous). Even then, why would he care? She wasn't anyone to him. It when Hyeri had to pretend that everything was alright, that she had to entertain him to hide her feelings. It hurt. 

It was even worse when Baekhyun would join their conversation ocassionally and side Daehyun, saying how cute those girls were. They were not cute at all. Daehyun would sometimes also randomly say one of the girls' names repeatedly probably to annoy Hyeri. Yeah, go ahead and ignore my feelings. I'm transparent right? Even though she knew they didn't mean it but so what? 

During one of their Physics lesson, Daehyun reached out to Hyeri's table and grabbed her pencil case. Hyeri was already used to him randomly taking her stuff so she didn't bother much but she was curious what he wanted to do with her stuff but she minded her own business.

"Hyeri." Daehyun called her name in a hushed tone. Hyeri turned and looked at him and did not like what she saw. It was too much.

Daehyun held up a decorated piece of writing paper with the same girl's name written in huge letters and even added '<3' in pink ink across the paper and decorated with those miniature heart shaped and flower chops found in Hyeri's pencil case and chopped randomly around that girl's name as decoration. It would be sweet if Hyeri replaced that girl's name but it wasn't the case.

"So how?" Daehyun smiled. Hyeri just laughed like he drew a funny picture of a smiley face poop. 

If Hyeri was upset then, she was definitely shattered now. 

It was just nice when Baekhyun decided to turn his head and he also saw the piece of paper. He laughed too. 

"I'll pass it to her for you!" Baekhyun said and Daehyun folded and handed the paper to him. Why would Baekhyun help him? They weren't super close and Baekhyun knows about Hyeri's feelings for Daehyun!

Yeah... Jerks. >:(

But it was because Baekhyun knew about her feelings that's why he did that. It was selfish of him but no one can blame him when he wanted his own love life to go well too right?

Hope this slightly longer chapter made up for the previous rather short one! ^^ I apologize if the wording layout is messy. My computer is crazy. :(
