CHAPTER 10

[ Taeyeon’s POV ]

I was at the Garden, having my peaceful time and relaxation. Since Sunny and Sooyoung are cooking, Seohyun and Yoong talking about the topic; Yuri and Tiffany buying snacks. I went here alone, since I have nothing to do.

I closed my eyes then I felt a weight on the chair I was sitting at. I opened my eyes seeing Jessica beside me with a few centimetres away.

“Hey..” She said

“Hey. What are you doing here?” I said then smiled. Why do I feel so close to her?

“Relaxing... You?” She asked then looked at me.

“Relaxing too.... What--” I was about to ask her something, when my phone rang. Indicating there is someone calling me. I looked at my phone then sighed.

“Excuse me a bit.” I told Jessica.

“Why umma?” I said to my mother, yes. She’s the one calling me

“I’m at a friend’s house”.

“We’re doing our report”

“No. I won’t go and never will go there”

“Because I DON’T WANT TO!!”

“WHY DO YOU KEEP PUSHING ME TO MEET HIM??!!” I was so angry.

“NO! And that’s final!” I ended the call. I was so angry that I didn’t notice my eyes was getting teary.

I should not cry. Not in front of someone or Jessica.

“DAMN IT!” I shouted and Jessica became shock.

“I’m sorry... It was just- I was just--” I can’t find the right word to say! I can’t even look at her!!!

“You can tell me... Sometimes, it’s best to let out your frustrations to someone” She said softly.

“It’s my mom....” I said to her, looking at her eyes. Her eyes are so beautiful, but I have a feeling that I have seen those eyes before. Like the eyes of my childhood friend to which I don’t remember but only one thing; her name.

“Ever since my father died, she never had time for me. She’s always working and working. She didn’t even go to my graduation when I was elementary and I was salutatorian!!!!

And now, she... she... she wants me to meet her fiancée! And that means that she will never have time for me!! She will give all her time to her new family!! She will ne---” She hugged me. Jessica hugged me. A tear fell in my eye when she hugged me.

“You can cry.. It’s okay.” She said rubbing my back.

We were like that for about 20 minutes, I don’t know why but I feel so comfortable around her. Feels like I’ve known her for many years.

“What’s with the moment?” Someone said to us. I quickly removed the dried tears in my eyes and broke free from Jessica’s hug. It was Yuri. Tiffany then slapped Yuri’s shoulder.

“AISH!! You ruined it” Tiffany said with a pout.

“Uh-- why are you two holding each other’s hand?”  I said and they quickly removed their hands from each other.

“There’s some who ran after us—I mean at me” I nodded.

“And why are you two hugging each other?” Yuri asked us. I looked away because I felt awkward. Then I remembered something--

“Nothing. At least I’m not the one making mov--” I was cut off by Yuri.

“Don’t you dare!!” Yuri said and the two girls looked confused.

It was because .... Yuri once told me, that after a very long time, he was in love. In love with a transferee... He saw that girl with a beautiful eye-smile and personality. He calls it love at first sight. He told me that because of this girl, he moved on from the girl who cheated on her. When he gave me the description, I knew it was Tiffany.

“Come, let’s go inside.” I said then pulled Jessica with me inside.

When we were inside,

I faced Jessica then said “Thank you” and smiled.

“It’s no problem. You need it by the way” She said then smiled. It’s the first time I saw her smile. I was astonished by her smile .. maybe because it’s the first time I saw it.

“Yah, TAEYEON-ah???” She said and waved her hand on my face.

“WHAT? WHAT? WHY?!” I said with wide-eyes. I didn’t knew that I was staring at her face for a minute...

“Your face looks funny! HAHAAHAHHA” She laughed. I wanna record this moment. You know, for.... blackmailing??

“Stop staring at my beautiful face. Come, let’s go to Sunny and Sooyoung, I can hear them bickering non-stop now!!” She said smiling then walked through the kitchen. I watched her going to the kitchen from the back.

Somehow, I want to see her always smile and laugh..
