"What do you think is the greatest gift of all?"
"That's a hard question.I guess it depends on the person you're asking."
"Well what is the greatest gift to you?"
"To me, that's health. You can have all of the money in the world and thousands of people that love you,but at the end of the day when you're left alone suffering all of this doesn't really matter to you."
"That's true,health is really important."
"And what's the greatest gift of all to you?"
"To me - it's to be remembered. To know that when you leave this world you will still exist in peoples hearts: as a grandmother, as an aunt, as a friend, as a cousin, as a sister, as a mother, as a wife."



"Are you free tomorrow?" Kris asks as he takes a seat beside me.
"It depends. Why?"
"Well, I wanted to ask you for help."
"Help with what?"
"I can't decide on what to give my mother for Christmas."
"Well then get ready to shop 'til we drop, love."
"Until you drop or until I drop?"
"If we shop until you get tired we won't be able to leave the house."
"True." He chuckles. " And what would you like for Christmas? Or do independent women don't accept gifts even from Santa?"
"Very funny Mr. Santa Claus."
"I guess a mercedes wouldn't hurt."
"Is that all?"
"I think that's enough. For now at least."
"For a woman, who doesn't like things to be bought for her, you sure ask for expensive ones."
"I only have one night to receive everything I didn't get throughout the whole year. Either go big or go home."
"Fair enough."
"I'm kidding. Buy me a book, love."
"A book?"
"Not just any book, but your favourite one."
"Are you sure you'd like that? You don't even know what's my favourite book."
"And please don't tell me. Leave it as a suprise."
"Okay. But don't blame me if it's bores you to tears."
"I think it's worth the shot."
"Why do you want that anyway?"
"Books, just like songs, speak louder than words. Reading your favourite book will let me get to know you in a way that I hope no one has ever known you before."
"You just keep suprising me. Fine, I'll give you my favourite book, but in return make me a CD of your favourite songs."
"Darling, one CD isn't enough." I laugh.
"Well then gift me your collection."
"You seem to be very devoted."
"That's because you're worth it."
"You also get cheesier day by day."
"And you love it."
"I'm not complaining."



"Have you heard the story of the old man who sent gift checks as Christmas gifts?"
"No, never heard of it."
"Basically an old man was feeling his age and he found that buying gifts was becoming too difficult for him so he decided to send checks to everyone instead."
"That's pretty smart."
"It is indeed. Anyway, in each card he wrote 'Buy Your Own Gift' and mailed them early. But after the holidays he noticed that he only got a  few cars in return."
"Poor old man. Why would they do that?"
"He was confused about that as well, so he went to his study with the intention of writing to his relatives to ask what happened. In the end, he was horrified to find out that it was all his fault."
"He didn't mail the cards?"
"Oh no, he mailed them."
"Then what's wrong?"
"He forgot to include the checks."
