새해 복 많이 받으세요! or Sae Hae Bok Mani Ba Deu Se Yo, which means Happy New Year in Korean! So before the year ends, I decided to why not make a quick update, so sorry if the chapter is short.

Seventh Grade (Year 2009):

~New Years Eve~

This year for new years, everyone is excited, because this new years marks the end of the decade, and the beginning of a new one! Because it’s special this year, Byunghun’s family invited us over for a small get-together.

Our family rang the doorbell, and they greet us with smiles. “Hello! Happy New Year!” Byunghun’s Umma said as she let us in.

“Happy New Year! I brought over some sweet potatoes from home for you guys to enjoy.” My Umma said to her.

“Umma! This box is heavy!” Woohee complained, carrying the heavy box of sweet potatoes.

“Aigoo. You didn’t have to give us so many! Must have been so expensive, here take this.” Byunghun’s Umma handed her some money.

“Omo, I’m not taking it.”

“It’s okay, I insist.”

“They weren’t really expensive, it’s okay.”

“Awww come on, just take it.”

“Umma, keep your money to yourself.” Byunghun popped up behind her.

“Aish Byunghun-ah, you almost gave your Umma a heart attack.” His Umma said trying to calm herself down.

“Byung Hyung, Annyeong!” I greeted him, and we walked past our Ummas who were still talking by the door.

“Channie-ah, my Appa is grilling steaks! Are you hungry?” He asked me, and I nodded.

“Omo, so hungry, my little tummy is growling.” I joked, and he ruffled my hair.

We were watching live television in their living room, and it was just thirty seconds before the clock strikes twelve, and then the new year would be here!
