Fifth Grade (Year 2007):
It was a cold winter day, and my mother drove me and Woohee to school today since it was too cold to walk. She dropped us off in front of the school and wished us goodbye.
“Bye Umma!” Me and Woohee said at the same time.
“Have a good time at school my babies, study well.” She said before she drove away.
“Oh, hey Krystal!” Woohee left me to see that girl, and I was confused. Wasn’t she complaining about her like a month ago? I seriously don’t get how girls work.
And walked to the spot where my best friends were usually hanging out. Ricky and Changjo were playing on their Nintendo DS while Niel was diligently writing in his notebook.
“Hey guys!” I greeted them.
“Hmmm.” Ricky and Changjo just grunted, probably focused on their game and I just sighed and sat down next to Niel.
“Hey Channie.” Niel said, and at least I know someone cares.
“Hey Niel.”
“Are you excited for winter break? Only one week till freedom!” Niel closed his notebook to talk to me.
“Heck yeah! I’m so tired waking up early.” I said as I yawned. I looked over to Ricky and Changjo, who were too into their game.
“Yah! You guys need to rest on that!” Niel complained.
“Not yet, after this game.” Changjo said as he moved his DS left and right to the game. “One, more, race! Ah, I’m last place again!” Ricky pouted.
“That’s because you .” I said to him and we all laughed except for him.
“Yah! I do not!”
Then suddenly, my world went black…. Because a pair of hands covered my eyes from behind.
“Guess who?” I heard a familiar deep voice and I decided to play with him.
