Chapter 34

Soft Spot for You

Kyuhyun’s POV

Donghae looked alright for the most part. Except for his puffy eyes, he seemed perfectly fine. Which was surprising because I’d excepted his mother to have ripped his eyes out or something. But nope. It seems like all my panicking had been unnecessary. But that still didn't stop me from rushing over to pull him into a hug.

“Kyu? What are you doing here?” Donghae asked, sounding confused. I couldn't tell if it was because of my random outburst or because I had latched onto him and hadn't moved for a solid minute or so.

“Matthew called and told me what happened. And then I thought something might’ve happened to you so I tried calling your phone a bunch of time, but then you didn't pick up and I—I kinda got worried. Why didn't you answer my calls?! I thought for sure the old hag had killed you, stuffed your body in a garbage bag, and then tossed you in the ocean,” I exclaimed, pulling away from Donghae to recheck that he didn't have any bruises or anything before I continued rambling. “Sorry I couldn't be there to tell her off. Seriously I had months worth of I wanted to tell her. But look on the bright side, now no more suffering, right?!” I couldn't contain my excitement as I grabbed onto Donghae’s shoulders and shook him. “You’re finally free!”

Donghae looked blank for a moment but then broke out into a smile. “Thanks, Kyu. For everything”

I rolled my eyes dramatically, hoping he didn't see the blush on my face. I hated when he got all mushy with me. “You’re an idiot,” I muttered. “I’m your best friend, that’s what I’m supposed to do.”

Donghae giggled, patting my arm fondly.

“How did you get here?” I heard Hyukjae ask from off to the side. I turned around to see him watching me curiously.

“I remembered where you lived so I just took a bus,” I said, causing Donghae to whine.

“Kyu, you took a bus all the way here?”

“What? It’s not that far you know. Besides, I had to make sure you were alright since you didn't bother telling me yourself,” I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

Donghae looked guilty, but stuck out his tongue at me. “I was going to tell you in the morning.”

“Uh huh.”

Donghae pouted and Hyukjae chuckle as he came to stand beside Donghae and moved to kiss him lightly on the head. Donghae blushed and Hyukjae chuckled again before looking back up at me where I shuffling in place, suddenly feeling like I was interrupting something.

“Did you want to stay for dinner?” Hyukjae offered. “Well, it’s not much of a dinner but yeah,” he said shrugging as he waited for my response. He looked like he was genuinely asking, but at the same time, I could feel like I was intruding on something. I don’t know but I suddenly felt like I was third wheeling on them and that maybe the two of them wanted some alone time or something. It made me frown a little, but I covered it up with a forced laugh.

“Nah. Chinese isn't really my thing,” I lied, and I saw Donghae tilt his head in confusion, but I ignored it. “I just got overwhelmed and wanted to check up on you,” I said turning to Donghae. “Now that I’m sure you aren't lying in a hospital bed or something I think I’m gonna head out.”

Donghae’s eyes widen and he looked at me like I was being ridiculous. Heck, even Hyukjae looked a little puzzled with my sudden declaration to leave.

“You can’t go. You just got here,” Donghae protested, and I appreciated his insistence, but I still shook my head.

Before I could say anything, Hyukjae pitched in. “It’s really no trouble if you stay for a while. You can even sleep over if you want.” I was surprised at his offer, but dismissed him with a wave of my hand.

“I’m leaving. Besides, I’ve got things to do at home, like, important things… you know,” I rambled, slowly heading towards the door as I rolled out the lies. “...And then there’s that thing that I gotta get done for Heechul, and well, I guess I’ll see you guys later,” I said, hustling to slip on my shoes.

Hyukjae passed Donghae a look. “It’s already pretty late, so at least let me give you a ride then,” Hyukjae said, and it seemed as if he was already set on the idea because he started looking around for what I’m guessing were his keys.

I rolled my eyes again, and folded my hands over my chest. “Geez, you guys are such worry warts,” I complained, but Donghae didn't seem to be buying it.

“Kyu,” he began, but I held out a hand for him to stop. “Really, we’ll talk about it tomorrow, ok?” I had already opened up the front door and was stepping outside. I gave Donghae and Hyukjae a little wave, although both of them seemed too confused to wave back. I saw Hyukjae place a hand on Donghae’s back, and I took that as my cue to leave. I shut the door before either of them could say anything and I trudged down the hallway I’d come up just moments ago.

I sighed as I stepped into the elevator. Just my luck.

It was an uneventful bus ride back home, and all the while, I kept feeling more and more down in the dumps. I stared blankly out the window with my cheek resting against my palm, my head titled against the glass. The bus was empty and with noise to break my concentration, I was stuck in my own little world.

My mind kept thinking about Donghae and Hyukjae, and the more I did, the more lonely I felt. Donghae doesn’t even tell me things first anymore. Hyukjae was now the first person he went to and it left me feeling a little unwanted. I hate to admit it, but I was jealous of their relationship. It must be nice to have someone ready to coddle you and give you all their attention. I’m happy Donghae had found Hyukjae, but I felt like I was losing him. I was acting like a miserable sap, but I couldn't help it.

I sighed when I noticed the bus turning onto my avenue and got up heavily.

The short walk to my apartment was an even longer one now that my heavy thoughts felt like they were weighting me down.

This feeling was the worst. Maybe I should just buy a box of pizza and eat myself back to a happy place.

As I entered my building, I took the stairs two at a time, eager to get into a really nice hot shower. My stomach rumbled slightly when I hit the first landing and I groaned. Maybe I should’ve stay with Donghae for dinner. But then that would be an awkward third-wheeling situation.

For some reason Changmin suddenly came to mind, but I immediately stamped down that train of thought. There was no way Chanrmgin was serious about me. He was obviously a playboy and I just happened to be his latest prey.

In all honesty, I wanted whatever we had to be real.

He was nice, he was caring, he was playful and fun to be around even though I acted like I didn't like it. I remembered his attempt at taking me up to the cliffside, and I chuckled at that, shaking my head at how stupid he could be. But for all his stupid qualities, he wasn't that bad.

I blushed when I suddenly remembered the first time he had kissed me. It had been unexpected, and bizarre at first, but… it had felt nice. I touched my lip subconsciously and found myself longing for him to do it again. I couldn't help but think about what if he really did like me and we ending up being together.

I blushed again, stopping in the middle of the hallway to shake my head roughly.

That was ridiculous because he wasn’t serious about me. Whenever he decided he was tired of me, he’d leave and I’d be left heartbroken, so I can’t let him get to me. I just hope he stops bothering with me before I end up really getting attached to him— if I already haven’t.

Ugh. Don’t think about him. Think about food. Cartoons. Knock knock jokes. Anything else, I thought to myself.

I realized how stupid I must look standing in the middle of the hallway so I hurried to my apartment, unlocking the door and pushing inside.

It was dark and I stumbled over a pair of shoes right in front of the doorway.

I cursed lightly, pausing to glare down in the darkness at the shoes I couldn't see as my hand fumbled against the wall looking for the light switch. I frowned when I realized that I didn't remember leaving any shoes here. I found the switch at that moment and the dim light lit up the doorway, but it wasn't bright enough to illuminate further into the apartment. When I could finally see what I had tripped over, my eyebrows furrowed as I gave the upturned shoes a little kick so I could see them better.

Those definitely weren't mine.

I didn't even have time to process that information because just then, a noise came from somewhere in the apartment and I lifted my head just in time to see, much to my horror, a shadow come strolling out of my bedroom.

I let out the loudest shriek I’d ever heard myself make.

I can’t believe it! There’s a frigging robber in my apartment!

The person turned abruptly to the sound and I shrieked again. It was too late before I realized that I probably should've made a run for it back out into the hallway instead of cowering dumbly against the door.

I panicked and grabbed the closest weapon which happened to be a small fold up umbrella.

“Whoa, babe, hold up. It’s—”

“Don’t come any closer!” I shouted pointing the umbrella threateningly. When they ignored me and started to come closer, I didn't hesitate to throw the umbrella at the thief. I didn't have the best aim, but it thankfully managed to sock them in the shoulder, resulting in an whelp from the intruder.

“Kyuhyun, baby, it’s me. Don’t throw anything else,” the person said as they hurried into the light, coming at me with their arms held up in surrender.

I was too busy panicking to recognize their voice. As the person came closer, I cringed back against the door, fumbling behind me to get a grip on the handle so I could make a run out of the apartment.

But when their face finally caught the light, I had two reactions. The first was to place a hand over my hammering heart as I let out a heavy sigh of relief. The second was to pick my shoe up and haul it with all my might, hoping to knock off the huge grin on Changmin’s face.

He somehow saw it coming and dodged just in time, still wearing that stupid goofy look like all of this was highly entertaining.

“Aw, did I scare you that bad?” he cooed, coming closer to me. He tried to weasel his way into a hug, but I pushed past him to step further into to apartment before spinning around to glare at him.

“You jerk! What the heck are you doing here?! I thought you going to kill me or something!” I yelled, all too agitated that he’d almost scared me into peeing my pants. “And why the heck did you have to leave your shoes right there? I almost died!” I cried, cutting him another glare. But he just stood there smiling at me like he wasn't even paying attention to my angry rant. My mouth was turned down in an angry snarl, but I couldn't hold it for very long with him looking at me like that.

“Sorry,” he apologized, stepping closer to me. This time, instead of seeking a hug, he reached for my hair, ruffling it up a little. “I really didn't expect to scare you that bad. I thought you’d find it funny,” he said, shrugging, still sporting a dopey smile.

I grumpily shoved his hand off my head when he started to toy with a lock of hair.

He chucked, bending down a bit with his cheek turned to me. “Don’t I get a welcome home kiss?”

I blushed, using both of my palms to push his face away, taking a step back so he wasn't too close. He smelled of lovely cologne and I was liking it a bit too much for my comfort. “This isn’t your home and that little stunt of yours wasn't very welcoming, so no,” I found myself saying and Changmin looked ecstatic.

“So what you’re saying is that you would’ve done it if I hadn’t scared you?”

“W-Wha— no,” I protested, but Changmin just ruffled my hair again before walking past me into the apartment. He seemed to have no problem making himself at home as he plopped down on the couch, throwing his feet up on the small coffee table in front of him.

My right eye twitched at that, but he didn't seem to realize.

“It’s kinda late. Where were you?” he asked curiously, folding his arms behind his head as he eyed me suspiciously.

I huffed and folded my hands over my chest. “I’m the one who’s supposed to asking questions. What the heck are you doing in my apartment?”

Changmin suddenly got a shy look on his face at the question and I felt my anger practically melting away. How could someone so stupid manage to look so innocent?

“I found this in my truck,” he said cautiously, fishing out of his pocket a small crumpled piece of paper, “and I, uh, thought it might be yours so I… came to give it back,” he said, but it sounded more like a question.

I lifted an eyebrow and studied him for a moment before reaching for the ball of paper he was stretching out towards me. As I opened it, I noticed it was a grocery list written in barely legible writing.

“It’s not mine,” I deadpanned, and Changmin chuckled nervously. “Really?” He didn't say anything else and was desperately trying to not meet my eyes.

“Did you seriously come all the way over here and break into my place just so you could give me this?” I couldn’t help but think about what a dumb waste of time that was for him. He must really have nothing to do if he took the time to do that.

Changmin just shrugged, causing me to roll my eyes.

“Wait how did you get in here?”

Changmin looked delighted with the change in conversation. “Your landlord let me in.”

I scoffed and shook my head. Of course that old fart would do that. He could've been letting a serial killer into my place, but he wouldn’t care. Especially since now with him trying to get me out of the building, he was probably only doing things like this to piss me off.

Suddenly my stomach let out a hunger cry and Changmin grinned while I tried to cover up an embarrassed blush by looking the other way.

“Did you have anything to eat yet?” he asked, quirking up an eyebrow at me. “I could make you something,” he offered with a sort of excited glint in his eyes. My brows furrowed in confusion and I tilted my head at him.

“You can cook?” I asked skeptically and Changmin chuckled.

“How else am I going to survive? Definitely not on pizza and microwave dinners,” he laughed, causing me to pout subconsciously.

“Don’t make fun of other people’s lifestyles,” I snapped, offended and embarrassed that he had mocked my eating habits.

Changmin looked surprised by my implication as his eyes widen in a ‘I-can’t-believe-people-like-you-actually-exist’ kind of way that made me scowl and fold my hands over my chest defensively.

All of a sudden, though, his eyes brightened and he hopped excitedly off the couch. “Ok, it’s settled. I’m going to make you dinner,” he declared enthusiastically.

I didn't know what to say to that, and all I could manage to do was blush. It was a simple idea, but no one had ever bothered to do something like this for me so something about if felt special.

When I didn't answer, Changmin grinned at the genius of his dinner plan. He then brushed pass me, headed to the front door, which had my eyes widening as I hurried behind him.

“Are you leaving?” I asked hesitantly, and I immediately cringed at how disappointed I sounded. Changmin also seemed caught off guard by it, but then he smiled softly.

“I’ve noticed that your fridge doesn’t have much so we’re going to the buy some ingredients.”

I blinked up at him, and he chuckled. He pointed at my shoes and I finally got the hint that I was coming along too. I nodded dumbly and then hurried to slip on my shoes. Changmin put his on too and ushered me out the door when we were done. He waited patiently as I locked up the apartment door, but it took longer than usual because I could feel Changmin’s eyes on me and it was making me forget how keys worked.

After I locked up, Changmin lead the way down the hall and I followed, wondering how the night had turned out like this— not that I was complaining, though.

“Where’s the closest grocery store?” he asked as we took the stairs down.

“There’s one just up the block, and it’s a 24/7 place so they’ll be open,” I said. Changmin nodded and went ahead to open up the door for me to step outside.

He came out after me and immediately took my hand in his, pulling me gently along the sidewalk. My heart had picked up considerably and I felt my palm getting sweaty, but Changmin still held on tight with a grin on his face. I was thankful it was dark out so that my blush wasn't that visible. I wanted to pull away, but I found myself craving for the touch, so I just held on. I was thankful that there weren't many people on the streets so it was just the two of us and the occasional passing car that zipped by.

“So, you didn’t tell me,” Changmin piped up as we walked a calm steady pace. “Where were you?” he asked, glancing down at me and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

“What are you, my mom?”

“No, just your very worried boyfriend,” he said, ducking down so that he was closer to my face. I got goosebumps on my neck at the feel of his breath hitting me and I hated the way this was all making me feel. I was liking it too much and that wasn't supposed to happen.

“Don’t call me that,” I muttered, and I hated how weak it came out.

Changmin didn't seem bothered, though, and just continued to look amused as he straighten up.

This was how the rest of the walk to the supermarket went: me fighting an internal conflict with myself and Changmin just looking content with the situation.

When we entered the supermarket, the bright lights inside had me squinting for the first couple of seconds. Changmin pulled me along as we walked through the isles and I followed along without much of a fuss until I started to notice a few people passing us looks as we walked by. I blushed and tried to tug my hand out of Changmin’s, not liking all the attention his little display of affection was drawing. But Changmin just couldn't take a hint because his grip on my hand tightened as he continued to pull me behind him, occasionally stopping to drop something in our basket.

At one point, a woman stopped to fawn at us. “Aw, aren't you two just the cutest.”

Changmin flashed the woman a charming smile and thanked her for her kind compliments, while the only thing I could do was keep my head down because my blush was definitely noticeable under the bright lights.

As Changmin continued to shop, I was too occupied by all the onlookers we were getting to notice what he was buying. It felt like we’d roamed the entire store before Changmin finally let go of my hand to inspect a few green colored vegetables that I couldn't remember the name of. I made sure to shove my hands in my pockets so that he couldn't possibly get to them. Changmin smirked at my little act of defiance, but pretended like he didn't notice and continued to inspect the vegetables. When he was finally satisfied, he dropped one into the basket, and turned to me.

“That’s the last of it,” he declared, picking up the filled basket with one hand, looking like he didn't know what to do with his empty other hand.

“What are you going to do with all that?” I asked, scrunching up my nose as I was just realizing he’d bought weird things like onions, zucchini, and garlic. Changmin laughed.

“You’ll see,” was all he said before he indicated for us to head to the checkout.

Thankfully Changmin didn't do anything else embarrassing while at the store, and on the trip back to my apartment, his hands were too filled with grocery bags for him to try anything.

When we arrived back in my apartment, Changmin went in first and headed straight for the kitchen to set the bags down. As I came in behind him, I scowled at the way he left his shoes kicked off in the middle of the doorway. Too annoyed to bother straightening them, I kicked them out of the way. It was a shame because they looked pretty expensive.

In the time it had taken me to finish with my shoes, Changmin had already managed to strip off his shirt, leaving him in just a black wife beater, and he already had a pan heating up. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at how well he seemed to know where everything was, which only left me with the itching feeling that he’d gone through my things while I wasn't here.

I came to lean next to the counter to watch what he was doing, but he shooed me away when he noticed.

“It’s a surprise,” he explained when I scowled. I pouted on purpose to see if that would get him to change his mind because I really wanted to see what he was going to do, but he just ducked down to bite my earlobe. It caught me by surprise and I yelped, holding my hands over my ear when he moved away laughing.

“You’re so cute,” he said. “Now run along before I decide to bite something else,” he teased playfully and I glared at him, although I don’t know how affective it was since I’m positive my face was as red the bell pepper he began to cut up. I didn't stick around after that in case he really wasn't joking about that biting thing. Why did he have to be so random?

I shook my head as I came to stand in the living room, pausing to think about how to pass the time. I really didn't have anything to do so I decided to take that nice hot shower I had been planning before. I ended up spending more than thirty minutes in there, and by the time I was done, steam was fogging up everything in the bathroom. I didn't know how much more time Changmin needed, but I decided to take my time blow drying my hair. I changed into a pair of navy blue sweat pants and a baggy black t-shirt I found crumpled in a stack of clean laundry.

When I stepped out of my bedroom, I was hit by the most delicious smell of rich spices and roasted meats, and other wonderful smells I couldn't describe.

Changmin was picking his way around the small dining table, adjusting a few things here and there. When he noticed me hovering around bedroom doorway, he beamed and hustled to wipe his hands on a towel before throwing it over his shoulder. He came bouncing towards me and I almost smiled at how excited he looked, but I bit down on my lip to hide it.

“Come, come,” he urged as he grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the table he’d already set up.

“Tada!” he exclaimed proudly, stretching his hands out wide as he showed me his little surprise.

And that time I really did smile because I was overwhelmed by all the food that he’d made. And that fact that he looked so enthusiastic to show me had me melting like putty.

“Wow,” I breathed out, letting my eyes wander around the multiple dishes he’d made. The dark wooden table was not even visible with all of the heavenly looking foods covering the entire space. How did he get all this done in so little time? I closed my eyes and sniffed the air, almost groaning at how good everything smelled. “This looks great,” I said smiling widely.

Changmin was practically glowing at the compliment and I couldn't helped but chuckle. The big oaf was so unpredictable.

He ushered me to sit down, and I did, although I almost missed the chair because I was too busy admiring the food. Changmin laughed as he took his seat across from me, pausing to rearrange the candles he had lit up. I didn't even own candles so he must’ve picked them up while we were at the supermarket.

I couldn't help but feel warm inside. No one had ever put so much effort in something for me.

I was smiling non stop as I looked over the table and when I finally glanced up to see why Changmin was so quiet, I caught him staring at me with a content smile on his face.

I blushed at the way he was looking at me, and Changmin chuckled. He lifted up his glass in a toast and inclined with his head for me to lift up mine too.

“What are we toasting to?” I questioned.

Changmin thought about it for a moment. “How about to every cooking show that I’ve ever watched that helped me know how to make all this?” he laughed, gesturing to the table full of food.

I chuckled at the silliness, but nodded. “To every cooking show you’ve ever watched,” I repeated and Changmin laughed again.

We both took a sip and I realized that it was soda. After I set the glass back down, I didn't hesitate to start eating. Changmin let me have the first bite, and he watched expectingly as I bit into some sort of vegetable dish. My eyes widened as the flavors hit my tongue and I nodded rapidly in approval since I was too busy stuffing my mouth with more food to speak. I didn't even know what I was eating, but it tasted so good that I didn't even care.

Everything tasted so heavenly that I kept every time I tried something new. Changmin would look a little uncomfortable at times, but seemed pleased nonetheless that I was enjoying the meal.

As we continued to eat, Changmin kept quiet as I complemented every thing. When I had quieted down to so I could eat better, Changmin finally said something.

“I noticed the stack of games by the tv,” he said through a mouthful of food, pointing with his fork at the cabinet I kept them in. “You never told me you play.”

“Gaming is probably the only thing I like doing besides sleeping,” I replied, snorting at how boring my life must sound.

Changmin laughed. “Are you any good?”

“Are you kidding me? You’re looking at the all round champ of video games.” I boasted, puffing out my chest a little. If there was one thing I was happy about with myself, it was my gaming skills.

Changmin smirked. “Ok, how about we play a little when we’re done?” he offered, wiggling his eyebrows like it was the most exciting thing.

Just then I remembered what he does for a living and I didn't feel so confident anymore. Changmin was the CEO of one of the best gaming companies, and that meant he had to be a pretty awesome player. But then again, I wasssss pretty good myself.

“Ok,” I finally agreed, smiling as I watched his eyes light up with glee.

And that’s how we ended up on the floor in front of the couch, furiously tapping away at the controllers in our hands, with the empty plates of food lying forgotten on the table.

We had gone through about three games already, and in all of them, Changmin had lost miserably. We were now on our fourth— a battle type game with zombies and machine guns and lots and lots of war zones.

It was a two person shooter game, and Changmin and I were supposed to be on a team, but we had turned it into a competition to see who could get complete the mission first.

“Yes!” I exclaimed, jumping up onto my knees and pumping my fists in the air. “Ha! I told you not to mess with the champ. Woo hoo!” I cheered, laughing loudly at the fact that I’d beat a professional video game player. That makes me the ultimate champion doesn't it? I giggled wildly, looking over to see how Changmin was taking the loss. But I stopped when I caught him once again giving me that weird look.

I coughed awkwardly as my laughing died down, but Changmin didn't stop staring. Instead, he started leaning in. I knew instantly that he was trying to kiss me again, and I immediately shot up off the floor and scurried away into the kitchen.

I take back what I said before about wanting him to kiss me. He couldn’t. If he did, I— I don’t know what would happen, but it couldn't be good.

Unfortunately, I heard Changmin get up to follow me and I squeezed my eyes shut to calm myself down and hopefully think of a way to get out of this situation.

“Kyuhyun?” Changmin called gently, but I kept my back to him. “Sorry if I’m moving too fast. I promise I won’t do it again.”

I sighed and turned around to face him, but I kept my eyes trained to the side.

“That’s not it,” I said quietly. “I just think that maybe… maybe we shouldn’t—I don’t think it would be a good idea for us to…” I trailed off, unable to find the right words. How do you tell someone that you didn't want to be with them? Not that I didn't want Changmin— quite the opposite. It’s just… nothing good could come out of a relationship between us. Sure he might be all love struck now, but what about when he gets tried of me? He was rich and powerful and had everything. I didn't have anything like that and Changmin would sure get tired of me soon.

Changmin didn't say anything and I snuck a glance at him to see his reaction. He studied me for a moment. “Do you like me?” he asked finally, and I squirmed under his gaze.

“No,” I blurted out too fast, and Changmin chuckled under his breath.

“Then, do you like spending time with me?”

I shrugged helplessly, just wishing he would give up on this already. Just then, Changmin shifted in front of me and I glanced up to see him stepping unbelievably close. My eyes widened and I took a step back but bumped into the fridge where Changmin put his hands on either side of me, trapping me so that I couldn't go anywhere. I mean, sure I could’ve just knocked his hands out of the way, but way he was looking at me made me not want to move.

“I think we would be a good idea. You know why?” he asked in a low voice. I didn't answer him.

“I like spending time with you. I like the your laugh, the way your hair falls over your eyes, all of your expressions, your little quirks, the excited look you get when you’re truly enjoying yourself. I love the way your hair feels, I love the warmth of your hands, your smile, your—”

He didn't get to continue because I shoved both of my hands up against his mouth to shut him up. “Alright I get it,” I muttered angrily, feeling flustered and embarrassed. But as embarrassing as his rant was, there was a warmth in his words that made me feel happy he was here with me.

I could see Changmin’s eyes crinkle up and feel his mouth pulling up into a broad smile behind my hands. He gently pulled my hands down from his face so that he could talk. He leaned down close to my face and I turned my head away but Changmin just moved his face with mine so I still ended up with him looking at me.

He got incredibly close until our noses where bumping against each other. I tried to move back but there was no room.

“I love you,” Changmin whispered softly against my lips.

I don’t know what happened to me after that, but I felt myself crumbling as Changmin’s lips touched mine. It felt more needy than our first kiss as Changmin moved his lips against mine and eventually I could feel him coaxing my mouth open until we were in a heavy make out session. I don’t remember doing it, but I found my hands clutching the back of his neck, standing on my toes to deepen the kiss. Changmin was hugging me closer and closer with each passing minute like he was trying to remove all the space between us.

When Changmin pulled away, we were both breathing hard and I noticed my hands had found their way into his hair and messed it up pretty bad. But his eyes were glazed over with bliss and he leaned down to whisper again in my ear.

“I love you.”

Chapter 32: Um...ok...nice as a fanfic...
...but for character development purposes I think Donghae should have gone with Hyukjae or on his own as it is his house and his own problem. He should learn how to face it and solve it, however painful it may be. Also, if he loves his brother dearly, why bever call him up even once? The character's like a dumb little dainty darling.
