A Right Prediction
Running to Happiness with Secrets“Where are we going?”
“Japan.” Myungsoo answered the boy.
“I’ve never been on a plane before.”
“Well, there’s always a first to everything, right?” Myungsoo kept his eyes on the road.
Sungyeol stayed silent.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling all right?” Myungsoo stopped once he reached a red light and faced him.
“L, why are you doing all this for me?”
Myungsoo stared off to everywhere, but Sungyeol’s eyes.
“Green light.” Sungyeol announced.
The rest of the way to the airport was just pure awkwardness. Myungsoo didn’t know how to solve the problem and Sungyeol on the other hand, kept his own thoughts to himself.
Sungyeol got out of the car when they arrived to the airport. He wondered if it was a bad idea to leave without telling Woohyun. The boy looked at Myungsoo, who was currently a few steps ahead of him, walking.
“L.” He called out.
The boy turned around. He saw the worried expression on Sungyeol’s face.
“I don’t think this is a good-” Myungsoo walked over and wrapped him into his arms.
“I’m sorry, I can’t explain much right now. I know it’s going to be hard, but I need you to trust me, okay? Please, Sungyeol.”
“I trust you.” Sungyeol boldly said, followed by a quick peck on Myungsoo’s cheek.

Sungyeol came out of the washroom after changing into a pair of clothes Myungsoo had prepared for him. When he reached to his seat, he noticed that the other was already asleep. Not noticing Myungsoo’s bag on the floor, he trips on it. A journal slips out. His journal to be exact.
I should just put it back and respect his privacy.
Still, curiosity killed that thought and the boy turned to the first page, which lead to the next. Before he knew it, he had finished the whole journal. So many questions flowed around in his head. Who was Myungsoo? Was L in love with someone? Why did he treasure this journal so much that he had to keep it by his side? What is he hiding exactly?
Myungsoo suddenly turned a bit in his seat, frightening Sungyeol to quickly return the journal’s original place.
“Not going sleep?” Myungsoo opened one of his eyes, still sleepy.
“We’re almost there. I’m not tired; I’ll wake you up when we get there.”
“Mmm.” Myungsoo snuggled closer to his neck, placing his head on his shoulder.
I feel bad for doubting you, but do you even love me?

“Are you hungry?”
Myungsoo didn’t get an answer.
“Are you hungry?” He poked Sungyeol’s cheek.
“Not really.” The boy shook his head. “I’m actually qu-” Sungyeol heard a loud honk and bright lights of a car approaching him.
“SUNGYEOL!” Myungsoo screamed, reaching out to pull him back.
Sungyeol backed away without the help of Myungsoo and spaced out, rejecting the other’s hand.
The scene looked so familiar, I swear, it seemed as if it happened before.
“ARE YOU HURT?” Myungsoo held onto him tightly.
“L, those lights. They looked weird.”
“You were probably scared. Everything’s fine now. Let’s call it a day and get some rest.”
Myungsoo was just stacking another lie on top of many others.
The two unpacked a few things and went straight to bed.
