Running to Happiness with Secrets“That was the best ride everrr!!” Sungyeol cheered after Woohyun stops the car in front of the hotel bar.
“You’re such a kid.” Woohyun shakes his head.
“Psh, only in front of you. Anyway, thanks for the ride.” Sungyeol says as he makes his way out of the car.
“No, Sungyeol, wait. Can’t you just come back to work for us?” Woohyun asked one last time.
“Like, I said. I don’t want to recall all those memories.” Sungyeol closes the car door.
Woohyun drives off, while Myungsoo’s car finally pulls up, right behind Sungyeol’s back.
“Lee Youngsoo.” The boy called in a serious tone.
Sungyeol turns around and sees Myungsoo’s passenger window opened, staring straight at him in the eyes.
“Oh. Hey.” He replies in calm voice.
“Didn’t you say you were still at the bookstore? How did you manage to get here so fast?” Myungsoo asked as if he was suspecting him.
“Are you spying on me or something? Why are you acting like a stalker?” Sungyeol fought back, slightly getting angry.
“Look, just answer my questions first. Weren’t you supposed to be with some vice president or something? You weren’t at the bookstore, I checked. Why are you lying?”
Sungyeol doesn’t look at Myungsoo at all. He turns his eyes towards the ground, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
“Do you think by not answering, you’ll be able to get away? I’m going to be here until you explain it all.” Myungsoo made it clear.
“ it. I don’t need to explain anything to you. Who do you think you are?” Sungyeol fired out, turning around, heading to work.
Myungsoo doesn’t bother staying any longer and steps on the gas pedal, speeding on the roads dangerously, heading home. ____________________________________________________________________________
It has been five days and Myungsoo still hadn’t contacted Sungyeol, not even a text. Sungyeol checks his phone frequently, but ends up disappointed every time he doesn’t see the new messages sign.
“Youngsoo oppa, why are you always checking on your phone these days?” Yoonmi asked while doing her homework.
“Nothing, I just thought someone would contact me.” Sungyeol sulked.
“Mhmm? If you want someone to call you, why can’t you just call them first?”
“It doesn’t work like that.” Sungyeol explained half-heartedly.
“Oppa, you’re just weird.” Yoonmi said out of the blue.
“Just concentrate on your homework kid.”
“I finished already! Oppa, did you know Kim Myungsoo’s secretly in a relationship with a female idol?”
“WHAT.” Sungyeol’s eyes went wide. Real wide.
“Oppa, you’re so slow. There are probably a thousand pictures on the internet by now.” Yoonmi takes the boy’s phone out of his hand and searches it up for him. “See? Right here. Kim Myungsoo & hidden girlfriend right beside him.” She points on the screen.
Sungyeol snatches the phone out of the little girl’s palms and examines the image. The picture wasn’t very clear, but clear enough to see that it was really Myungsoo. Beside him, was a skinny tall girl wearing an oversized black hoodie and white skinny jeans with a cap and mask covering her face.
Sungyeol exits his internet browser, throwing his phone onto the chair behind him. He bends down and gives Yoonmi advice.
“Never trust everything you read from the internet, it might be a bluff.” He pats her head softly. ____________________________________________________________________________
“Hey.” Woohyun called to Sungyeol.
However, Sungyeol doesn’t notice him and continues to drift off, over pouring alcohol.
“HEY! You’re going to knock out someone with that amount!” Woohyun yelled.
“HOLY SH-“ Sungyeol steps back.
“Why are you spacing out so much today?”
“Do you believe in things that you see from the internet?” Sungyeol asked as he re- made another drink.
“Well, it d
