Running to Happiness with Secrets“Who are you?”
Those simple words were strong enough to break Myungsoo into pieces.
“Do you know me?” Sungyeol pointed to himself, still in his hospital gown.
Myungsoo couldn’t respond. He didn’t know how to.
“Hello?” The older boy waved his hand in front of Myungsoo’s face. “Are you listening to me?”
“I do know you.” The younger replied in all seriousness.
“Oh. Are we friends then?” Sungyeol asked in the most innocent tone possible.
“No…we’re-”
“I think it’s best for you to let him rest. Come outside, I need to talk to you.” Woohyun appeared at the door.
“Great timing,” Myungsoo coughed out as he made his way out. “.”
“Wait.” Sungyeol clenched onto the boy’s wrist. “Who are you then?”
“I’m just…...a volunteer.” Myungsoo said with a straight face.
“Please take care of me, I’m Lee Sungyeol.” He introduced himself with a huge smile, enough to burn through Myungsoo’s heart.
“L,” Myungsoo replied with a small forced smile, walking away.

“He’s been diagnosed with lacunar amnesia, he’s forgotten a gap of memory, and that gap involves meeting you. They’re not sure whether it’s permanent or temporary.” Woohyun started explaining.
“Does he remember you?” Myungsoo asked at once
“Surprisingly, he does.” Woohyun told the truth.
“Are you happy now? Congratulations, Nam Woohyun, your wish came true,” in a sarcastic tone.
“Let’s cut to the chase, if I get Sungyeol’s consent and he agrees to leave with me, then-” Woohyun’s phone cut him off.
Just when Myungsoo was about to make out what Woohyun was going to say, a loud shattering sound came from Sungyeol’s room.
“Are you alright?” Myungsoo bursted in.
“I accidently knocked over the vase while pouring water. I guess my arms aren’t fully awake yet.” Sungyeol looked back to the honeysuckles, “Oh no, the flowers!”
He was about to reach for them until Myungsoo held onto his hands, preventing him from going any further.
“The glass pieces are very sharp, just throw them out.”
“That’s such a waste!”
“No, it’s not.” Myungsoo picked up the flowers and glass shards carefully.
“You’re going to cut yourself like that, just let me help you.” The taller one helped at once.
“That’s shar-”
“Ahh- crap!” Sungyeol looked at his palm as blood slowly flowed out. “B-blood….” He said in a quiet voice, loud enough for only him and Myungsoo to hear.
“, I told you I didn’t need your help!” Myungsoo grabbed onto his wrist. “I’ll go get a nurse.”
“I’m fine.” Sungyeol calmly said.
“How can you possibly be fine when-”
Sungyeol released his wrist from the other boy’s grasp and walked to the bathroom sink to rinse his cut.
“Doesn’t it sting?” Myungsoo asked in confusion.
“Kind of, but it’s bearable. So, what brings you here as a volunteer?” The older questioned back.
“I……listen, I’m just-”
“That’s not important right now,” Woohyun pulled Myungsoo back and took his place near Sungyeol. “You okay?” He asked as he lightly placed his hand on Sungyeol’s cheek.
“Mhmm.” Sungyeol nodded obediently.
“I have to go back to the office and finish some work. Sleep early tonight, I’ll be right here next to you when you wake up tomorrow.” He patted Sungyeol lightly on the head.
Myungsoo coughed loudly to ruin the mood. “Like he would want to wake up to your face first thing in the morning.”
“Watch it, Myungsoo. You were the ultimate cause of the situation right now.” Woohyun whispered as he left.

“Are you going to leave?” Sungyeol asked Myungsoo in the lightless room.
“No, so just go to sleep now.”
“Why? Aren’t you just a volunteer? Don’t you want to go home?” Sungyeol continued.
“This practically feels like home.”
“I don’t understand.” Sungyeol rolled over to face Myungsoo on the chair.
“Just sl
