I'M ON SPRING BREAK! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? AN UPDATE!!!!! Yeah I'm just excited that I ended the quarter relatively well. Anyway, here's another oneshot going your way, inspired by recent happenings in my life. Enjoy.

I didn’t understand it. I really didn’t. Who in his right mind went out on the rainiest day of days to walk a girl to her class? Especially when he didn’t even have to, and he wasn’t even her boyfriend!

You might assume I’m talking about other people, and that I’m simply being jealous. On the contrary, I’m talking about myself. Yes, I was the girl who had to walk in the rain to her class, and yes, my friend was the guy who walked me despite the horrid weather, and despite the fact he didn’t have to.

I didn’t even think Jong Hyun was serious when he told me he would do it. I brushed it off and finished lunch with my friend, going back to my dorm to get ready for the long and very wet trek I knew would come. Imagine to my surprise when he told me he was on campus, and was walking toward my area at that moment.

Well, actually, Jong Hyun missed me by a long shot. I had already arrived to my lecture hall and looked around for him. A minute or two later, he walked in looking around for me. After a few glances, he spotted me, and I waited as he walked up.

“You’re crazy.”

“I need a little crazy in my life. Besides, I promised myself I would go out today.”

“Why would you do that to yourself?”

“Because I want to.”

It ended up pouring walking to my next class, with wind flying every which where, but he still managed to keep a smile on his face. No regrets, and even sat through my math lecture with me. Willingly. I didn’t understand it, and I didn’t think I would anytime soon.

The week following, he always managed to find time to “hang out” with me. This occurred every day.

Only this “hang out” constituted of me studying while he was on his laptop editing photos or whatnot. Why would he want to stay in a common room when he could have gone back to the comfort of his home? We didn’t even talk that much, since I was busy with my work. It seemed pointless to me.

“Question.”

“Hmm?”

“Why are you here?”

“Why, did you not want me to?”

“That’s not my point. Answer the question.”

“Because I want to.”

“But why? You could have gone home, or hung out with all your other friends. ”

“You haven’t noticed yet?”

“What?”

“I’m with you because I want to be. Is that so wrong?”

It wasn’t wrong per say, but I gave him a strange look and then went back to my Calculus, though I wasn’t really remembering anything. I saw him smile from the corner of my eyes before he focused back on his edits.

No, I don’t think I’ll ever understand.
