Flashback.......

Gyuri's POV

 

''Did someone told you how ugly you are nerdy?'' a boy said to me while I'm playing alone at the

sand. I'm just new here at California. I'm really a korean but my parents decided to move here

for my studies and to manage their company.

 

 

 

''Please.. l-leave me a-alone'' I pleaded still stuttering, I'm new to English language that's why

I'm stuttering.

 

 

 

''Hahahaha. What a pathetic nerd! She can't even talk properly'' the other boy said. 'Don't expect

too much, I'm just new here and I'm only 8yrs old'

 

 

 

I just turn my back on them to walk away, when someone grabs my doll at break its leg.

''NOOO! p-please s-stop!'' I pleaded but they didn't even bother to listen to me.

 

 

 

''Let her go, stupid monkeys!'' just then a boy arrived he's cute plus he's also riding at the back

of his big dog.

 

 

 

''Oh yeah? Are you his boyfriend? What a cute couple hahahahaha'' the other boy mocked.

 

 

 

''And what do you call to yourselves monkeys? Stop bothering her or you'll feel the wrath of

Ginger!'' he said, then the three boys dropped my doll and head to him. 

 

 

 

''Run!'' I shouted as I saw the three boys running to get him. He just smirked and jump out of his

dog.

 

 

 

''Get them, baby'' he ordered at his dog. Then the cute dog turns to an angry dog and begun to

chase while barking to the three boys.

 

 

 

''AAAAAHHHHH!!! Make him stop, please!!!'' the three boys pleaded.

 

 

 

''She's a girl, stupid'' the cute boy mocked. He then whistle and his dog return to him. ''Good girl''

he said patting his dog. He ride again at his dog. 

 

 

 

''Are you alright, little girl?'' he asked me and smiled warmly. 'That smile'  then my heart began

to beat fast. I just nod still confused why my heart beat fast.

 

 

 

''Where's your house? I'll give you a ride, hop in'' he said looking at the space at the back of his

dog.

 

 

 

''You're n-not ashking m-me to ride at t-that d-dog, right?'' I asked nervously.

 

 

 

''Yes I am, Ginger is a good dog, she obey me all the time. She's just mad if she saw ugly

people'' he said. ''And you're not ugly to make Ginger hate you'' he added and smile. 'That

smile again'

 

 

 

''S-so you're t-telling me t-that I'm BE-A-U-TI-PUL? I asked as I blushed shyly.

 

 

 

''I didn't say that hahahahaha'' he said teasing me.

 

 

 

''YAH!'' I yelled in frustration.

 

 

 

''Oh! you're korean'' he said and jumped out of his dog again.

 

 

 

''Annyeong Haseyo, Kwon Yuri imnida'' he introduce his self and bowed, 'How adorable'

 

 

 

''Annyeong Haseyo, Park Gyuri imnida'' I said as I introduce myself and smile.

 

 

 

''Now you're beautiful when smiling, keep smiling Gyuri'' he look at me straight to my eyes

and smile.

 

End of flashback

 

 

Gyuri's POV

 

 

 

''From that day, I made a promise to myself that I'll protect you Yuri. I promise myself that I

won't let anyone remove that beautiful smile on your face, you're the first person who treated

me well, you're the first person who makes my heart flatter by just a simple compliment when

others cannot. '' I whisper in the air, still reminiscing my childhood memory.

 

 

 

''Are you sure about this, Gyuri?'' Victoria snapped me out of my thoughts.

 

 

 

''Yes. Thanks for your help, you're really a good friend'' I said and hugged her.

 

 

 

''No problem, you're like a sister to me'' she said and hugged me back.

 

 

 

''I'll be leaving now, there's a lot of project that's waiting for me in the US. Take care Gyuri''

she added.

 

 

 

''Thank you so much, Victoria'' I smiled and hugged her. 

 

 

 

''Don't mess too much, okay?'' she reminded me.

 

 

 

''Don't worry. I'll just make her pay'' I said.  ''Call me when you have free time, take care''

 

 

 

''I will. Take care too, Gyuri'' she said, we waved hands to each other.

 

 

 

When she's out of my sight.

 

 

 

''Let's play a little game, Jessica'' I said in no one and smile to myself before drinking my glass

of wine.
