L's POV 

I was terrified of not being able to survive if she woke up 

but I was even more terrified because of her condition. She seemed so much in pain. It was as if she wanted to die but wasn't able to. 

The more I looked at her helpless body, the more I want to know about her. 

So far all I know about her is she has the grieve of a gold digger and she has supernatural powers that gives me the doubt if I'm dreaming or this is really reality. 

It makes me think if there are more of her out there and if there is her and there are those swordsmen, then there must be something worse. 

" uhh. " I heard her sudden moan and snapped out of my thought as I quickly averted my attention to her actions 

she was gripping the dirt on the floor like there was nothing 

The pain she was in was unbearable as all I could do was sit there and stare 

" leave. " she mumbled 

" you're awake? " I asked as she stared at me 

" I can't promise you that you'll be safe if you stay near me. " she said and I just blinked at her 

she sounded nothing like that clueless innocent girl back at the palace. 

She was mysterious and scary. Not a bad scary. But she had the unapproachable presence at the moment 

" you don't remember me? " I asked her and she just looked at me 

" you're that guy I barrowed the coin from. " she mumbled 

i guess she still hasn't figured out I'm the prince yet. It's better this way. Then I'd get to reveal her intentions on why she wants to marry me. 

" small world.. " she mumbled 

" are you feeling better? " I asked her as I touched her forehead and she looked at me and didn't reply 

Jiyeon's POV 

I blushed a little but I guess it was unnoticeable because I was burning up 

" you seem to be Cooling down. " he said 

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I felt this weird feeling in my stomach as he felt my forehead. 

" get some sleep. You'll be fine by morning I hope. " he said and I nodded and slowly rested myself on the cape he set on the floor for me to lay on. 

No ones POV 

Bright and early in the morning, L woke up to see no one around. There was only a note on the wall that said 

   " I got you some bread. I must go complete the queen's task. Be careful and don't find me, " 

he looked around and saw a bag of bread and realized how much he wanted to find her 

She was scary, but he felt safe with her now. He too doesn't know how the world is. He has never once stepped foot out of the palace. 

He took off right after he had finished the bread and wandered the road again until her reached a small town. He entered it only to notice that he saw many people on the floor begging for food. 

The town was filled with beggars. There were even babies on the street and he saw something he didn't want to see. 

He saw a dead baby on the floor. 

" please give me something to eat. " a women begged 

" please give me something to eat. " the people repeatedly said as He walked passed them. 

" what is this? " he mumbled as he couldn't stand people to be like this. It was terrifying. 

He finaaly reached a little restaurant shack and asked for some noddles 

" there are no noddles sir. There is only bread. " the man said and brought out a plate of bread 

these were the ones jiyeon bought 

" was there a girl that looked different from others come by here? " he asked 

" oh. The angel? Yes. She headed out of town. If you continue this path, you'll get out on the other side of town and turn left. " he said and L nodded 

" she left 4 hours ago. " the old man said 

" sir. Why are there so many starving people. " L asked 

" that dam king said we are his people and he would protect us! But he has donE nothing for us. He sent people here to collect taxes and Take away our food supply for military use. " the man raged 

" that's impposible. The kind would never do that. " he said 

" maybe not the king. But the people under him. Not everyone is good when it comes to politics. They only care about themselves. There has been 70 death reported these past 3 month in this town and nothing. " 

" the king never sent anyone down to help. " the man raged as L handed him the money 

" the king never received any death reports. " L muttered as he grew furious 

" thanks adjusshi. " he said and began walking on the road again.

Jiyeon once again found herself at a town filled with fun and joy. People were doing their regular daily routine. Selling Food, drinking alcohol, and fooling around. 

She passed by a Giseng house where it held an enourmous party 

'' Welcome! Welcome! This is the annual 100 year Alcohol festival '' A man shouted and she quickly averted her attention

'' Is this the place the Queen meant? '' She whispered as she tried to go in but was stopped by the guards 

'' No woman is aloud in here unless you're a giseng '' The guard said 

'' What kind of rule is that? I just want to enjoy fine alcohol. '' She said and a lady in a beautiful bright blue hanbok stepped out 

Followed by 6 other girls 

'' Head giseng. '' They bowed at her

She walked towards Jiyeon and lifted up her chin 

'' What Beauty. '' She spoke 

'' Lets break the rules just for today. '' The lady said and held out her hand for Jiyeon to take it 

The lady lead her into the place and walked her into a private empty room

The ladie's eyes shifted to a red color as Jiyeon widened her eyes 

'' You're human but you don't smell like it. '' She said and Jiyeon smiled 

'' You're a Gumiho. '' Jiyeon said 

'' NO.. I was. '' She said 

'' What do you mean? '' Jiyeon was curious 

'' I have only 5 tails, which means I am not a gumiho. '' The lady eyes teared up 

'' iM CURIOUS. How? '' She asked 

'' Men are all the same. They say they love you, they say they'd do anything for you, and when you ask them to die for you, they wouldn't. I failed to become human 4 times in my 400 years of life. '' She said 

'' Of course you fail. You can't just ask someone to die for you if you can't die for them. '' Jiyeon said and the lady glared at her 

'' What does a 18 year old girl know about anything? '' The lady said 

'' I know a way to help you. '' Jiyeon said 

'' What?! You can.... Help me? '' She asked 

'' I can recover your tails. But becoming human is on you. '' Jiyeon said and the lady smiled 

'' Please. I'd do anything. Say it and I'll get it for you. '' The lady said 

'' I only want your finest alcohol. '' Jiyeon said and the lady smirked 

'' So you knew from the very start. '' The lady said 

'' Same goes for you. '' Jiyeon said 

'' What are you? '' The lady grabbed onto Jiyeon's wrist and widened her eyes  

'' You! You carry 2000 years worth of Gumiho energy. '' She gasped as she her lips 

'' Don't even try. '' Jiyeon warned her. Knowing that she wanted to absorb it badly 

'' Even if I don't. You know others will. '' The lady said 

'' I'll keep that in mind Miss- '' 

'' Hyori '' She smiled 

'' Lee Hyori is my name. '' She said 

The talked for a while and Jiyeon left the place, satified with what she recieved. 

'' That was easier than I thought. '' she sang as she she couldn't her journey to Mount Eva.

L walked along the path and took the left turn just as the man instructed.

He paid the quite an amount of money so he could his horse.

This way, he would reach jiyeon much faster

he didn't know why he was so worried about her.

" yah.. " he stopped his horse and looked at her

" wh-what are you doing here? " she asked

" I told you not to follow me. It's not face. " she said

" what isn't safe is a girl like you wandering around. What kind of idiot doesn't realize that she's been hit on my all the guys she has passed on this road. " he rolled his eyes

" I'm not pretty. Therefore, they have nothing on me. " she said and he widened his mouth 

" are you stupid? Do you not know how pr- " he stopped for a moment since he still couldn't believe he was about to complement her. 

" weh. Weh. Whe? " she tiptoed and looked straight into his eyes as all he did was gulp and took her arm and pulled her up the horse. 

" what are doing? " she asked him as she wanted to get off but he gripped her hands tighter 

" the sun will go down soon. We need to find a place to stay. And I need to ask you some questions. " he asked and she nodded without refusing 

" fine. "

they reached an abandon warehouse and walked in. 

" who are you? " L quickly got straight to the point 

" I'm an orphan name Jiyeon. " she said 

" why an- " 

" my turn too speak. " she smiled, cutting him off 

" why we're you at the palace? " she asked him 

" I live there. " he said 

" what do you mean by you live there?! " she shouted

" I believe it's my turn. " he smirked 

" how did you people use such dark magic? " he asked 

" there are three type of people In this world. The normal villagers. The political governors/ royals, and there's us. The balance between the world. Light and darkness. Mystical creatures. Everything you thought that is impossible, is us. " she spoke 

" so you're telling me there are more of you? " he asked 

" not answering. " she said nha skipped her turn once again 

" what are you in the palace? " she leaned closer to him, giving him the eye

he didn't want to say it but he didn want to lie 

" the crown prince. " he's aid bnhshe BURSTED out laughing 

" yeah. Sure you are. And I'm the lost gumiho light is looking for. " she BURSTED out laughing 

" I'm serious. " he looked at her with serious eyes and she gasped

" we've been here for a very long time. " she responded

" hell broke loose 4000 years ago and devils and dark angels began too walk the earth and corrupt the balance of the world. Even devils had a rule, never I communicate with humans but some did. "
