Narrator's POV

The first night of traveling to Mato was hectic for the Do family. Maerin was the one awake for the night, overgoing the rusty navigations and gears to have a safe trip. Jasmine lay awake on her bed, facing the blank wall and her back to the door. She tensed once she heard the door open, but remained silent and closed her eyes to put the impression that she was asleep

"you're hurting" her mother said sitting on the edge of the bed. Maerin sighed Jieun's hair "I'm sorry...but I know what's on your mind right now is Taehyung. I've seen how you two act around each other, it reminds me of when your appa and I were your age. I know I sound like one of those 'back in the days' parents, but truthfully speaking, I'm still a child at heart too. I've broken rules, I've gone against my own planet just because of my love for your appa."

"what happened?" Jasmine asked turning around

"well, we fixed the war between the two planets, your unnie and oppa were a big help to the peace too, but mostly because we weren't willing to give up our love for the pleasure of our people" she said "you couldn't sleep?"

"not with all this going on" Jasmine said sitting up

"as much as I forbid you and Taehyung being together, I don't want to get in the way of your love" Maerin said "there must have been a reason of the fates for you two to fall in love, we just can't know yet"

"oh..." she muttered

"so don't give up on you two, especially with all of the tough tasks you will face soon, don't give up" her mother said planting a kiss on her forehead

"I'm not planning to" Jasmine said justly. Her mother only smiled and held her cheek

"you're a strong girl. You have such great will." she said "you really are my daughter. I see so much of myself in you"

"can I ask you a question umma?" Jasmine asked

"anything" umma said

"what tasks will I face?" Jasmine said

"you will find that out when we land in Mato, I can't tell you" she answered "but I can tell you that you will need to wise up all of your strength and beliefs for them. It will be very hard to continue, the things that your father and I, along with B1A4, BAP, and EXO, feared have returned. We're afraid that you truly are our only chance of saving the planets"

"what will happen if I succeed?" Jasmine said

"if you succeed, our planets will be saved and restored from all their sufferings. You will be able to return to Earth under your choice to be with Taehyung. We would forever be grateful to you" Maerin said

"and if I fail?" Jasmine said. She noticed the falter of her mother's smile and her expression began to drop "it won't be good would it"

"aniyo" her umma sighed "if you fail, there is potential danger that Mato and EXO will be forcibly merge and...- in other words, both planets may blow up. Everyone will die, both races would be annihilated - which is what our enemy wants. You also will die in that process"

"but what about Kevin oppa? or V?" Jasmine asked

"Taehyung gave up his soul and offered it to the will of your fate. If your efforts die, so will he. As for your foster brother and family, they were living under the protection of BAP and EXO, if the protection dies, so will your family" umma said "I don't mean to put this pressure on you, I really don't want you to undergo this when you're only 18, but it had to happen"

"I understand" Jasmine said

"I need to go and navigate the ship. Try and get some sleep Jieun-ah" her mother said before leaving the quarters. Jasmine sighed and faced the blank wall again. Closing her eyes, she soon fell to a deep sleep. Hours later, she awoke to the ruffles of her blanket. Turning around, she saw her brother climbing into her bed

"bwoyah, oppa, what are you doing here?" she asked

"appa told me to wake you up, but I'm tired" he said "just keep sleeping, I won't bother you" 

"okay" Jasmine muttered closing her eyes again. Minutes later, the two were awaken again

"yah! Do Hyunsoo! I said to wake up your sister not climb in her bed and sleep with her" their father nagged ripping the blanket away

"appa!" Hyunsoo groaned

"get up you" he said slapping the boy's . Hyunsoo gave in and sat up, scowling to his father

"appa, I'm tired" Hyunsoo said stretching

"well why? what did you do last night that you are oh-so-tired?" he said crossing his arms

"me and Soohyunie were playing games" Hyunsoo muttered

"aigoo. Go and get some breakfast from your umma. Ppali" he rolled his eyes watching the boy run out the quarters. D.O looked to his daughter who was still lying down on the bed "Jieun-ah, ireona"

"appa" she whined, but was pulled to stand up

"come on, go eat and get freshened. Today we're going to show you the compartments of your ship" he smiled

"neh appa" she muttered walking out and following her brother
