Chapter 13

My new next door Neighbour!

HELLO GUYS! I'M BACK! Finally online on my laptop again~^^
Well, lets celebrate my come back (lol) with a longer chapter, shall we?

Chapter 13

I froze. Uh oh. Should I?

"Well, um, I'm thinking of not going this year Lu," I said.

"Why not?" he sounded surprised, "You have to come!"

"I don't know," I hesitated.

"How about this," he said, "Just come with me, and you don't have to come as my date; we can just go as a friend. A lot of people do that."

I hesitated. Just as friends? Well, I mean, that couldn't hurt. "Sure," I felt myself actually smiling.

"Great," I could hear a smile in his voice, "I promise you won't regret it."

I hope not. Sigh.

***

"WAKE UP!" Someone shouted in my ear. I groaned as the bright light shined in my eyes, temporarily blinding my vision.

When my eyes adjusted, I realized that it was Tiffany.

"What are you doing here?" I groaned as I fell back onto my bed.

"Why wouldn't I be here?" Tiffany answered as she started dragging me out of bed, "I mean, without me, you would be a walking fashion terrorist."

I smiled. Same old Tiffany.

I went into my bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth. I changed into the clothes that Tiffany picked out; a tight, white shirt, and a short blue skirt that was almost too short according to the school rules. Almost.

"Seriously?" My eyebrow raised as I looked at myself in the mirror.

"You look hot," she grinned, "Now, lets go."

I followed her outside, grabbing my bag along the way. We walked to her car, and I noticed Sehun locking his door, and started to walk to his car. He looked at us, and I almost swore he was looking directly at me. I shook away that thought.

"Hold on a second," Tiffany told me and quickly ran to him. They started talking about something. I couldn't hear anything they were saying.

I pretended to look for something in my bag. This felt like the first day again. I watched Tiffany make gestures to Sehun, and he nodded. He said something else, and this time, Tiffany nodded. Then she started walking back to me.

"Sorry," she said casually as she got into her car.

"What were you talking about?" My voice come out sounding annoyed. Great, now she probably thought that I was desperate to know or something.

"Oh, well," Tiffany hesitated, "Things."

I felt my expression turn into a frustrated scowl. I didn't say anything. She clearly didn't want to tell me.

We got to school, and everyone talk about is Spring Fest.

"Oh please," I complained, "Spring Fest isn't that big of a deal."

"It is," Tiffany replied, "You'll see."

"I'll see?" I asked, "How exactly?"

"You'll see," she repeated. I sighed in frustration.

***

I ran into Mrs.Kim class breathless. I was at my locker, trying to get to class at the very last minute possible, so I woul avoid awkward moments with Sehun. I was so caught up in rearranging my books, that I didn't hear the warning bell until it was too late.

"Jessica Jung, next time, make sure you get here a few seconds before I shut the door," Mrs.Kim said. I nodded as I silently sat down next to Sehun. I made sure to keep my gaze away from him.

"I want to say that, I am a little dissapointed at some of the packets I've read," Mrs.Kim started. Packet? What packet?

"This seriously reflects on real life matters, and I want you to take this very seriously," she continued. No, really, what packet?

"Only one pair had gotten a perfect score, which means that I was satisfied with all their answers. And that would be," she turned to us, "Sehun and Jessica."

WHAT PACKET?!

"Wait, what packet?" I finally got the guts to ask. Mrs.Kim looked at me in such a way that I immediately regret asking.

"This packet," she handed it at me. I flipped through it, and saw that it was all completed in Sehun's surprisingly neat handwriting. I glanced at him and he raised an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah, of course. I just, uh, forgot which one it was," I blushed as I handed it back.

"We're going to read a poem today," Mrs.Kim moved on, passing each of us a sheet of paper, "I want you to fill this out before we read it."

I looked at the sheet of paper. The middle column had about seven questions, and there was a 'yes' and 'no' column on each side.

I read through the questions. Would you sacrifice all your money for love? Would you sacrifice your safety for love? Would you sacrifice your life for love?

Seriously?

I checked in the 'no' column for every one of them.

"Jessica Jung. Why don't you share your choices with us?" Mrs.Kim said.

"Well, uh," I felt my cheeks flush again, "I choose no for every one of them."

Almost every guy in the classroom hooted in agreement.

"Why?" she asked.

"Well, you know, love never lasts, and you'll always find someone else," I made sure to stare straight ahead, "So I don't think its worth it to sacrifice anything."

"Okay. What about you, Oh Sehun?"

I looked at him without meaning to. He kept his eyes on me while he spoke.

"I think its worth it to sacrifice for your love. If you really love that person, then you would sacrifice anything you could do for them."

"Two partner with two very different perspectives, interesting." Mrs.Kim smiled and nodded, like she had expected it.

***

I wandered around the empty hallway. I was supposed to be at lunch, but I didn't feel like going. I knew, deep inside, that it was because I wanted to avoid Yoona and Sehun. I felt bad for feeling so negative towards Yoona, but I couldn't help it. I sighed again.

Then I stopped in front of the bulletin board, and decided to read everything on there, to pass time. One of the sheets caught my eye.

Spring Fest Crew Sign-Up Sheet.

I read down the list, and five names caught my attention. Sehun, Yoona, Tiffany, Kai, and Luhan. Tiffany never told me they signed up. I could have signed up too.

But then I remembered that Sehun was there too, whice meant I would have probably been against it. Maybe that was why Tiffany didn't even bother to tell me.

I heard someone coming in this direction. I quickly looked around, trying to see if I could escape to somewhere. I wasn't supposed to be wandering the halls during lunch. I held my breath as the person came into my view.

Kai.

I breathed out in relief.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, "Aren't you supposed to have lunch?"

"I asked first," I said, avoiding his question.

"I'm supposed to go to the office to pick up something," Kai answered, "And you?"

"I, uh," I tried to come up with an excuse, but failed, "Yeah, I'm supposed to be at lunch."

"Well, why aren't you?"

I shrugged, not meeting his eyes, "I.... didn't feel like it. You won't tell anyone, right?"

He grinned, "Guess you owe me again."

I rolled my eyes, "Can I ask you something?"

"Depends on what that something is," he replied cheerfully.

"You, Yoona, Tiffany, and Sehun are all on the Spring Fest Crew," I purposely left out Sehun, "And you didn't tell me about it? I could have joined you guys."

Kai suddenly looked a bit... nervous?

"Well, Tiffany said that you were busy on Thursdays, which is when we usually have our meetings," he replied. Thursdays. Dance class. Tiffany signed me up on purpose! Ugh, that girl.

"Well, since I'm too busy," I replied casually, "I seemed to have missed something. Care to tell me what it is?"

God, I sounded so formal.

"Nothing much," he shrugged, looking past me, "Hey, sorry, I gotta go before my teacher starts thinking that I'm cutting class."

He gave me a smile, walked into the office.
