Simply Lovin' YouOnce Upon A Star

"Where are you taking me?" she questioned as he led her by the hand towards the back of the grand building.
"Shhhh," he placed a finger to his lips and smirked, "You'll see."
Jessica's lips curved into a smile, keeping her gaze on his back, following his steps.
When Donghae let go of her hand, she immediately beamed at the sight in front of her as she ran towards the garden and plopped herself down on the vined bench swing.
She patted the seat next to her and he smiled, settling himself down upon it.
"It's beautiful. Thank you," she uttered as she directed her gaze towards the sky.
Clasping her hands together, Jessica closed her eyes as she prayed to the stars and God, asking them to keep him forever smiling.
He admired her innocence and beauty and let out a chuckle.
"You believe in wishing upon stars?"
She opened her eyes and unclasped her hands but kept her gaze focused on the night sky.
"Mmmm," she hummed to say yes.
"Why?"
She smiled at his question.
"They give me hope. I don't demand for my wishes to be granted, but I know that they're heard and that gives me hope, making me grateful," she paused, "You don't believe in it do you?"
He turned to her, surprised.
"How'd you know?"
"Just a guess," she shrugged, but really she knew.
'It's because you believe in dreams and wishes being achieved through effort.'
"But why not?" she asked wondering if his reason was still the same.
"I believe in dreams and wishes being achieved through one's own effort."
Her lips spread into a grin.
She always knew, despite his changes, he was still the same guy she loved.
"I agree."
"Then why?" his eyebrows knotted together.
She confused him, but it was what he found so alluring about her, he had to admit.
"Because someone dear to me once told me that no matter how far he was, I could always reach him through the stars in the sky."
"It sounds like you love him," he said thoughtfully.
"I do."
"Do?"
"Mmmm, do."
"Then why are you still single?"
"Simply because I do, but he doesn't."
A pause.
"Don't you love late night talks like these? It feels like I've gotten to know you so much better," she laughed, diverting the topic away.
He raised an eyebrow.
"Really? Cause to be honest, I just feel like I've gotten more confused towards you."
He shook his head, laughing.
"It's raining," Jessica murmured distractedly as she reached her hand out to feel the droplets.
Before Donghae could even register her words into his mind, it started pouring cats and dogs. Though, not literally.
Without sparing any thought, he quickly grabbed her hand as he led her towards and under the roof of the tool shack.
Pulling her close to him, he held her tightly in an attempt to keep the rain away from her.
She looked up at him mischievously and smiled before dragging him out in the rain through their still interlocked hands.
She laughed happily like a child as she twirled around in her dress letting the rain drench her.
He watched her, smiling, and could only shake his head.
"Come on," she ushered as she grabbed his hands and made him spin with her.
Laughters and screams filled the garden as the two continued to play under the rain.
Coming to an abrupt stop, Jessica suddenly gasped as she put a hand over and hurriedly pulled him under the shelter.
Donghae looked at her with questioning eyes.
"I'm so sorry! I forgot that you could get sick in the rain," she smiled sheepishly, "And knowing your work ethics, you'd probably refuse to stay home even if you were," she continued under her breath.
Unfortunately, Donghae's ears were keen enough to catch her words but just as he was about to question her as to how she knew his work ethics, Jessica interrupted his train of thoughts..
"I think we'd better get home and dry up. My chauffeur's probably in the front so I can get a ride home from him, are you going to take your car home?"
Donghae nodded and ran a hand through his hair.
"I guess we should. Why don't I give you a ride home?"
She was quick to decline his offer.
"Thank you, but I wouldn't want to bother you. You should go home quickly and shower to avoid being sick."
"It's no bother, and it'll save your chauffeur the trouble of going back and forth to drop you off then pick your parents up later," he tried to persaude her, "Why don't you come over to my house first then? We can both dry up, then I'll drop you off after."
He didn't know what came over him, but at that moment, he didn't want her to leave just yet.
"Only if it's not a both-"
Donghae didn't wait for Jessica to finish her sentence.
He had already dragged her into a jog towards his car, grinning from ear to ear.
