Chapter 13
Nothing. There was simply nothing going through his mind upon seeing the empty room. He wanted to cry. He wanted to yell. Anything. But there was nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
After standing there for another ten minutes, he closed the door behind him and leaned himself against it. He was trying to understand. And maybe there wasn’t even anything to understand. Daesung might’ve left the house for some fresh air, or something like that. But he wasn’t gone. He simply couldn’t be gone.
Then his heartbeat slowly started to rise and his legs led him to Daesung’s closet.
‘Open it,’ a voice inside his head told him. ‘Open it, and see it for yourself.’
But Seunghyun didn’t obey. He thought he’d rather not know. Yet his feet had already taken another step forward.
‘Do it,’ the voice urged. And Seunghyun couldn’t stop his arms from rising and opening it.
Then his arms dropped down again. And not soon after, his entire body followed.
When had he done this? Had he packed all of his stuff before coming to him last night? Or had he never unpacked in the first place? Had he never intended to stay?
He reached for his cell phone and his fingers automatically dialled Daesung’s number.
It rang twice, and then a voice answered.
“Yoboseyo?”
Seunghyun’s eyes widened.
“Where are you?”
“Ya, hyung…”
Daesung stopped. What was with that? He couldn’t even answer him properly?
“Where are you?”
Seunghyun repeated. Daesung didn’t answer at first, but then he could hear a voice in the background, telling him something about Seunghyun.
“Who’s that?”
“I got to go right now, tell Youngbae I’ll call him later.”
“What? Ya! Daesung!”
But Daesung had already hung up. Seunghyun didn’t know what to think or what to do. So all he did was listen to the monotone beeps that indicated the end of the pho
