A Chance?

Don't fall in love with me

- "Yun Hee!! Come on!! Say it, you're killing me!"

- "Nothing"

- "Nothing? You mean you didn't feel anything?"

- "That's it, I felt nothing besides him being a good kisser"

- "I see… What're you gonna do now?"

- "I have no idea… He's probably going to call me soon. I don't want to say no because he's going to think I like Jaejoong, but I also can't go out with him 'cause I don't feel anything"

- "But isn't it true?"

- "What?"

- "That you like Jaejoong?"

- "NO IT'S NOT!"

--------

Jaejoong, strangely, didn't ask anything about her date with Yoochun. A whole day passed and he said nothing about it. Yun Hee was expecting a bunch of questions from him and found his behavior rather weird. But if he didn't want to know about it, she wouldn't be the one to tell him.
He was actually following Junsu's advice. He was trying to look indifferent and act like Yoochun didn't even exist, in hope that attitude would leave Yun Hee frustrated. It was resulting.

That week went by slowly and Jaejoong didn't make a move neither Yoochun called. It looked like, suddenly, the two guys of Yun Hee's life lost interest in her. But of course that would't last long.
It was saturday night and Jaejoong was tempted to go out and was trying to persuade Yun Hee to go with him.

- "Come on, Yun Hee, it's gonna be fun! We've been working a lot, we deserve it!"

- "You go, I'm too tired and you know I don't like going out that much" - she replied annoyed.

- "But it's good for you, you can't live your life home-office-home!" - he said pushing her arm like a small kid.

- "I still didn't recover from my cold…" - she lied.

- "Really? You don't feel better? Maybe you should see a doctor. That's it, I have this friend of mine who's a doctor, I'll call him and he'll come-"

- "NO! N-No need to, I feel better but not fully okay… Maybe if I STAY HOME tonight I'll get better"

- "Fine" - he said before sighing - "I'll prepare some hot tea and cookies and we'll watch a movie"

- "Watch a movie?" - she asked surprised.

- "Ne, or do you want to do something else? Watch a drama? Play games? Talk?"

Yun Hee couldn't help but laugh. He had this habit of asking too many questions in a row whenever he was anxious or nervous.

- "A movie is fine"

- "Alright, you can choose one while I prepare our food"

He headed to the kitchen and Yun Hee went to the living room. Next to the huge TV there was a pile of DVDs, meticulously organized, as everything Jaejoong had was. She was rather surprised most of the movies he owned were romances.
Yun Hee smiled when she found "Norwegian Wood" between the DVDs.

- "You really like Haruki Murakami, don't you?" - an husky voice said when she was inserting the DVD on the player.

She turned to see Jaejoong placing two large cups of green tea and a plate of delicious chocolate cookies on the table.

- "You caught me" - she replied smiling.

They both sat on the sofa with a warm blanket covering their legs and each one holding their hot tea cups.
The movie had started 15 minutes before but Jaejoong was focusing on something other than the TV. Yun Hee was with an attentive expression, never taking her eyes off of the screen. He was studying her facial expressions and admiring her shiny dark brown eyes. But what he didn't know was that she was aware of his staring and she couldn't focus on the movie anymore. She decided to do the same.
They looked at each other in the eyes for a few seconds before awkwardly turning their heads to the TV again.
Yun Hee was feeling her heart beating faster and faster when she reminded something important: she had asked Jaejoong to give her some time a week ago. Maybe that was the reason he looked so distant the past week, maybe he was just giving her space to think about it. Now that she was sure she didn't have feelings for Yoochun, was it the right time to give Jaejoong a chance?

Her thoughts were interrupted by Jaejoong wrapping his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him so she could rest her head on his shoulder.

- "J-Jaejoong… We shouldn't be so close, you'll catch a cold too" - she said nervously.

- "I don't mind as long as you get better" - he replied, looking at her.

She raised her head to look back at him and he left a kiss on her forehead. Yun Hee blushed slightly at his action and he noticed it, and a smirk appeared on his face.

The movie was half gone and Yun Hee was feeling so warm and comfortable next to Jaejoong that her eyes started to slowly close until she couldn't take it any longer and fell asleep.
A few minutes later Jaejoong noticed she was already asleep and, without moving much in order not to wake her, he stretched his arm to reach the remote control and turn off the TV.

He looked back at her sleeping face and softly caressed her cheek, making Yun Hee unconsciously smile in her sleep.

"Such and angelic face" Jaejoong thought smiling as he pulled the blanket up to cover them to their necks.
He leaned his head to touch hers and rubbed her hair gently until the both of them were finally asleep.

--------

Ring Ring Ring.

The sound of Yun Hee's cell phone ringing woke her up.

- "This… this early in the morning…" - she said between yawns, still with her eyes closed. She tried to reach her cell phone, which was laying on the living room table, but felt something heavy on top of her and she barely could move.
She finally opened her eyes to see what was preventing her from moving and saw… Jaejoong.

Jaejoong laying on top of her. Resting his head on her chest and with his arms around her waist. She then remembered she fell asleep during the movie. And her erted boss took the chance.

- "Jaejoong! Wake up!" - she yelled on his ears as she pushed him away, but he was too heavy for her.

- "Just a bit more…" - he replied holding her tighter to him and burying his face on her chest. She thought he was probably still half asleep.

- "You smell really good…" - he added, making Yun Hee shocked.

- "W-WHAT?!! GET OFF ME, YOU ERT!!" - she yelled and pushed him away so strongly he felt off the couch, hitting his back on the floor, which made him yell in pain.

Yun Hee ignored his painful sounds and finally reached her phone which, unbelievably, was still ringing.

- "Yoboseyo?"

- "Anyeoung, Yun Hee. Did I wake you up?"

She didn't check the caller's ID before but now she knew it was Yoochun.

- "Well, kind of…" - she said honestly.

- "I'm sorry"

- "Ne, it's okay. I'm actually glad you woke me up" - she said emphasizing the last words and glaring at Jaejoong, who was still on the floor rubbing his back with a painful look on his face.

- "So… I would like to take you to lunch, are you free?"

She froze at his words. She knew she had to accept his next invitation in order to talk to him honestly, but she didn't think it would be this sudden.
Jaejoong suddenly stood up and grabbed her cell phone.

- "No, she isn't free. She has work to do" - he said.

Yun Hee panicked and tried to get her cell phone back, but Jaejoong was holding it higher than she could reach, even if she jumped.

- "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, GIVE IT BACK!!" - she was yelling and jumping frenetically. Yoochun realized it wasn't the best moment and hung up.

When Jaejoong finally gave her her cell phone, she saw she had a text message.

*Call me when you're done*

What the…? Yoochun never sent her a message like that, it looked like he was pissed off. And it was Jaejoong's fault. She was really mad and about to kill him. Jaejoong realized it and made puppy eyes, walking closer to her. He was going to grab her hands but she didn't let him do it.

- "Why did you do this?" - by the tone of her voice, Jaejoong knew she was truly mad at him.

- "I just don't want you to go out with that guy." - he replied with an innocent look.

- "I don't care about what you want, you don't have the right to do things like this!"

- "But I only did it because I really like you, Yun Hee!" - he was starting to get worried.

- "If you liked me that much you would respect me!" - she replied raising her voice - "I go out with whoever I want to, and I'm going out with Yoochun."

- "You can't do that! Yun Hee, please, don't do it!" - he said almost begging on his knees.

- "I can and I'll do it! And you know what? I might even give him a chance, since he actually RESPECTS ME!!"

As she said that she headed to her room, slamming the door loud enough so Jaejoong could hear it. He was still standing in the middle of the living room, his mouth opened in disbelief.

She what? She was going to give him… a chance? That means she will… date him? No. No way. That can't happen. Him, Kim Jaejoong, would never let the woman he likes date other men. No freaking way.

Yun Hee was sitting on her bed, still shaking nervously after the argument she had with Jaejoong. She didn't mean it. She wasn't going to give Yoochun a chance, since she didn't like him. She only said it to annoy Jaejoong and make him realize he has to respect her privacy if he likes her so much. Still, she had to meet with Yoochun to clear things up between them. She called him and he agreed to pick her up at 11 a.m.

She looked at the clock: 9 a.m. She had plenty of time and decided to take an hour long bath. After the bath, she went to her closet to choose what to wear. She grabbed a short light pink dress and black heels.
She was finishing her make up when she received a text message.

*I'm waiting outside*

Yun Hee rushed to grab her bag and went downstairs. Jaejoong was sitting on the couch. He had a mix of sadness and anger on his face. When he heard her footsteps he got up and ran to her.

- "Yun Hee, please, don't do it! Don't give him a chance, he doesn't deser-"

- "You don't tell me what to do" - she harshly cut him and got off the house.

"I'm sorry Jaejoong, but you have to learn to respect me" she thought when she was leaving the building, feeling a bit guilty for lying to Jaejoong.

- "I never get tired of saying how beautiful you are" - Yoochun charmingly said as he saw Yun Hee.

She smiled embarrassed and got into his car. Yoochun drove for about an hour before they finally reached the restaurant he chose.
They sat on the table he had reserved and ordered their meals. They were talking about trivial things, like Yun Hee's life in the USA and her job. By the middle of the lunch Yun Hee decided it was the best to bring the subject that brought her there.

- "Yoochun, I have something to tell you"

He froze but gave her an encouragement nod.

- "It's about the things between us… the truth is…" - she was nervous and didn't know how to say it.

- "It's better if we stay just friends" - he said with a soft smile. She widened her eyes at him.

- "H-How did you…?"

- "I was guessing by your previous reactions. You looked so confused when I kissed you…" - he was still smiling but he had a painful look on his eyes - "you like him, don't you?" - he finally said.

- "L-Like him? Who are you talking about"

- "Kim Jaejoong"

- "What?! No, no way! I don't like him! It's just… I don't feel that way about you…"

- "It's okay. I hope that jerk realizes he has everything a man can ask right in from of him"

Yun Hee blushed at his words.

- "But" - he continued - "If he hurts you or disappoints you, I'll be here to comfort you"

- "Thanks…" - she said slightly embarrassed - "But I don't know… I don't know what I feel for him…"

- "Yun Hee, stop fearing love. You're just hurting yourself. If he makes you happy, go for him. I'm happy as long as you're happy"

- "Thanks for everything. You know you'll always be a very special person to me, Yoochun… oppa" - she said with a warm smile.

Aw it was all fluffy but Jaejoong ruined everything...

This was a long chapter, wasn't it? I'm afraid this story is getting closer to an end

Chapter 15: tbh as much of an as he was, I understood why he did it. You can't really blame a guy for trying to hook up with a rebound when the girl you love just practically said "I'm giving him a chance not you" whether she was saying it to make him realize something, for her to say that was a bit harsh & actually unnecessary.

Chapter 19: I don't know if you're gonna read this but i just came across this story yesterday and finished it in one go. And i read it all over again today as well. You can see how much i love this story right? Hehe. It's a really wonderful piece. I love how it's light, yet romantic and funny and fluffy with the right amount of drama and sadness. And i love stories that are not too long. And omg Kim Jaejoong as a super rich CEO is my ultimate weakness. I have a thing for boss-secretary fics. This is perfect really. I subscribed so i can keep reading this! Please write more fics like this. I adore it to bits! Toodles! :)
