Chapter 8 - Wrong Timing

"Eotteoke? Should I make a move now?" Kyu thought to himself.
Kyu sat up and said, "What about what I said to you on the phone?"
"Huh!? What about it!?" Yoona thought, is he going to do it? Oh, no!
Kyu moved closer to her. "What... Are.... You..."
"I told you I was serious..."
Yoona was frozen on the spot. She can't move any part of her body.
As he moved closer and closer to her, she prepared herself for the worse.
Just a few more inches, and...
The door slammed and a guy appeared.
"Donghae!!" Yoona and Kyu said simultaneously. Kyu straighten up himself, and so did Yoona.
"Did I interrupt something?"
"Oh, nothing important," Kyu said then stood up.
"Let's go. We're going to be late," he added and offered his hand to her. Yoona grabbed his hand and he pulled her up. She was out-balanced and she tripped.
Kyu grabbed a hold on her waist to avoid her from falling and accidentally hugged her, their faces inches close to each other.
"Whooa! I think I should go," Donghae said and slowly went down.
For a few seconds, their eyes locked, with both hearts beating so fast.
Kyu thought," Just a few more seconds, let's stay like this."
Yoona thought," Let's stay like this... Forever."
But then...
"There you are!
My Kyu!"
"Jiyeon!!" Kyu and Yoona said with shocked expressions.
The two split apart, like nothing happened.
Donghae ran back up and grabbed Jiyeon. "Ahm, Jiyeon! Hey! Come on! We're going to be late!"
"But what about..."
"Oh, don't mind them. They'll just follow, right guys?" Donghae forced a smile.
"Okay, but..."
Donghae dragged Jiyeon down.
"Haish! Such wrong timing!" Kyu sighed.
"Yeah," Yoona said, still blushing.
"Why don't we continue this some other time? Right now, Ma'am Tiffany will scold us for being late," Kyu said with a bright smile.
"Continue?!! Oh, stop teasing me, Kyu! Argh!" Yoona said, punching Kyu's arm.
Kyu just gave a laugh... a real one....
The school bell rang signaling that classes were over for the day.
Sungmin stretched his arm. "That was a busy first day, alright."
"Yeah," Yuri agreed as she stretched her arms.
"So, guys, what are your plans?" Donghae asked as he hugged Sooyoung.
"I think I'll wait for Chorong, then we'll go straight home," Seohyun said.
" I'll also wait for Bomi," Yoona said.
"Ah, I will wait with Yoona," Changmin interrupted.
"Well, then, me and Kyu will go home now, right Kyu?" Jiyeon said as she held Kyu's arm.
Kyu didn't answer. He just looked at Yoona and Changmin.
"Well, me and Sooyoung will be going to Yesung Cafe. Who wants to join us?" Donghae asked.
"I will!" Yuri and Sungmin answered simultaneously.
"Argh! Copycat!" the two said to each other.
"Hahaha! Calm down, you two! See you guys!" Sooyoung said goodbye to the others.
Sooyong, Donghae, Yuri, and Sungmin left.
After a few seconds...
"Yoong!"
"Unnie!"
"Oppa!"
"Oh! Bomi! Over here!" Yoona waved at her sister.
Hayoung, Chorong, and Bomi arrived by the gate.
Suddenly, Bomi dragged Chorong and Hayoung away from the others. She whispered something to them.
The others were curious about what they were taking about.
After a while, they went back to the others.
" Jiyeon, unnie? Can you please go with me? I think I forgot my book at the classroom," Hayoung requested and dragged Jiyeon away.
"Wait!... Uh..."
"Changmin-oppa! My tummy aches! Can you please buy me some medicine? Seohyun-unnie can come with you, right?" Chorong winked at her sister.
"Huh!?...
Oh, right! Come on Changmin," Seohyun dragged Changmin away.
"I'll go with Chorong in the clinic. I think this will take long, so you two can go on. Bye!" Bomi and Chorong ran away.
Kyu and Yoona just looked at each other in confusion.
"Hahahaha!" Yoona blasted out a laughter.
Kyu also laughed with her.
"Come on. I'll walk you home," Kyu said, and Yoona didn't resist.
As they were walking home, the two talked about the obvious plan of their siblings. They laughed about how funny their plan was.
"I think the plan worked,"Yoona said.
"Yeah."
"So, this is my home! Ahm... Thanks"
Instead of saying welcome, Kyu held Yoona's shoulders and moved closer to her. Yoona stayed still. Just a few more inches and...
The front door of Yoona's house slammed open...
"Rufff! Rufff!"
The two quickly split apart.
"A dog? We never had a pet dog," Yoona said.
Instead of getting irritated, Kyu laughed.
"Yah! What are you laughing at?" Yoona pouted. She thought, how can he be laughing at this time? Everything was going all so well, and this dog just appeared. Such wrong timing!
Yoona was still pouting when Kyu stopped laughing.
"Hey, come on. Don't be angry."
"It's just that... That dog!"
"At least I know that you received my gift," Kyu said, smiling.
"Gift?!"
Yoona looked at the dog at the front door with surprised eyes.
