“You already followed me all the way home! You can leave now” I sighed

Twisting the key in the lock

“I’ll come pick you up for school tomorrow” Taemin saluted

“wait don-” I gently closed the door behind me then leaned my back against the cold wooden door

My bag slid to the floor and I slowly fell to the ground beside it

I cant believe I was just walking with him a few minutes ago

“oh sheez why wont this door open?!” A muffled voice shouted from the other side of the door

I stood up and opened the door revealing myself

“oh why are you guys home so early?”

“we were gonna take you with us since you said you were coming back home” Dongho grinned

“yah!” Soohyun raised his hand causing me to flinch

Soohyun oppa was definitely the father figure in this group

He suddenly threw his arms around me and shook me around

“ah. AH!” I whimpered

“whats wrong kiddo?”

I desperately tried to hide the burns on my legs with my hands, instead it became more noticeable

“move your hands. Something wrong?”

Eli suddenly appeared and pulled my arm away

“Liar!” Eli announced

“What happened?!” Soohyun asked concerned

“It was nothing” I mumbled quietly

“Everyone to the car already! WE’re running late!” Ukiss manager shouted from the car

“Come on guys lets go. We’ll talk about this in the car with the others” Ki bum told us

 Everyone dispersed leaving me behind with Dongho

Dongho angrily pulled the front door shut then grabbed my arm

“oppa…”

“It was the girls in class right!?” Dongho muttered angrily

I said nothing but nodded hesitantly

“Those good for nothing girls! How could they hurt you!?”

“It’s fine. Let’s go to the car” I said

Dongho stopped me and placed his hand on my shoulder

“Look at me”

Hesitation took over me, I had to fight with myself in which I lost

I lost to myself and ended up looking towards the ground

Dongho roughly took me by the chin and raised my face so I met him at eye level

“Listen to me Kris”

I continued to stare at him

“Don’t be afraid to tell me anything. I’ll be here for you.” He pounded his chest “Dongho oppa is here to protect you. Got it Kiddo?”

At last! Someone who can actually bring comfort to me…

I smiled to myself, touched by his words

I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him tightly

“Thank you” I mumbled

I heard Dongho chuckled then a loving pat on my head

“Next time you’re not going to school without me. Whenever I have schedule you’re coming. Alright shortie?”

“Promise?” I asked him

Dongho smiled and held out his pinky

He curled his pinky with mine, then stamped our thumbs

“you cant break a promise” I said in a teasing voice

“un!”

“HEY YOU TWO! GET YOUR BUTTS IN THE CAR ALREADY!” Kiseop yelled with all his might

“Lets go Lil sis” Dongho held his hand out for me to hold

I smiled and hugged his arm, we both jumped into the car and drove off

In my mind you cant imagine how many times I was screaming the words ‘thank you’

Because I truly felt…like I had a family

Why do I say that? I’ll tell you

Since I was young I can never NEVER remember any time my family has ever truly cared or loved me

Sure my family and I are not in bad terms, we still talk

But the only words sent between my parents are “oh pack your bags you’re going to America”

“get ready for school,” “we’re going back to korea”

So where does Taemin come in the picture you ask?

After coming back again to Korea I was about 7

I was the loneliest child around, while everyone ran around with their friends I sat on the curb by myself

I was playing on the curb with my doll one day and all of a sudden the doll was ripped from my small hands

I started wailing and jumping up and down in anger

“I’m sorry. My bike accidentally caught your doll’s hair”

“my doll” I managed to whimper

“Here!” the boy smiled

He reached into his bike basket and pulled out a teddy bear

I giggled in delight and hugged the soft stuffed animal

“I’m taemin! What’s your name?”

From then on he was my Best friend, My only friend

Taemin and I grew up together, besides being in our own home…we were always together

Over the years I grew really fond of Taemin, I always thought of him as a brother

But as a year passed and another passed I felt something different than ‘just a brother’

Until we reached Middle school, that’s when Minah appeared

She stuck onto Taemin like glue

Only he was too foolish to not realize that Minah was crushing on him, a MAJOR crush on him

“Beat it you rat! Taemin oppa is mine!”

“I’ve known him longer than you Minah!”

“So!? He likes me better and you know it!” Minah scoffed

Taemin never knew…

“Krissyyy! Look what I got!” Taemin smirked proudly

“what is it?” I swung my arm, hoping to grab whatever was behind his back

Taemin suddenly whipped out the object

I gasped in delight “wahhh another teddy bear to add to the pile you gave me!!”

“uh huh! Just for you!”

I hugged the stuffed toy once more

“ah whats that?” I asked rubbing my face, after bring pricked by an unidentified object in the bear

“oh open that later when you get home. Bye Krissy!” Taemin waved with a huge smile

“bye Taemin! See you tomorrow!”

However Taemin turned back around to continued walking and didn’t say anything

That night I cried my self to sleep

Inside that bear was a letter, a goodbye letter

When he was gone Minah took the chance to pick on me everyday

Everyday was a living hell

No one cared

I never took the time to think over stuff like this

Not until I met Kevin..and Ukiss

They changed my life
