Daehyun had returned home after another tiring day of school and just like always, his mother nagged him for bringing dirt into the house and lectured him about how careless he was about his appearance. It wasn’t that he didn’t care about his looks; in fact it was the exact opposite. Daehyun was self-conscious, probably a thousand times more self-conscious than any of the girls in his class. He hated his thick fat lips that made him look like he was having some kind of allergic reaction; he hated the fat underneath his eyes that made him feel like he was constantly haunted by eye-bags, there was nothing he appreciated about his face. He didn’t need his mother to hound him about his looks either. He had given up a long time ago.

He shrugged at his mother when she questioned him about his test result from school. He had failed his math test again and was determined to not let his parents know. The last time he did he had gotten a beating from his father. Ever since then he never told his parents a bad mark every again.

Once his mother had given up in asking for his results he marched up to his room and found himself being drawn to his computer. Usually after a long day at school he would go have a shower to wash everything away but throughout the entire day he was too busy creating various scenarios on what Youngjae would say to him. Even though the two of them had only conversed once, he had a feeling that the other would post on his wall and say something to him. Daehyun found it strange that he would even care about what a person he hardly knew, yet he rather talk to Youngjae than any of his classmates at school. Perhaps it was the crazy way Youngjae expressed himself or the sheer mystery of talking to someone over the internet but either way Daehyun couldn’t explain and in all honesty, didn’t really care.

Daehyun logged into his Facebook account and just as he expected Youngjae had posted on his wall. Hey Daehyun! Glad you found me on here. Didn’t mean to creep on you but your dp was right there and I couldn’t help myself so I took a look at your face. DAMN you must get all the ladies back in your school right? ;D

A smile crept its way across Daehyun’s lips but it didn’t last long. He rather not think about what girls in his school thought about his face. He was so certain that they would have poked fun of him and point out every single flaw upon his face. Before Daehyun had a chance to even think about how he was going to reply to the wall post, Youngjae opened up a conversation.

YJ:

DH:

YJ:
> how are you?

DH:
> good

YJ:
> you know at first i thought you weren’t gonna add me on here

> lol no, its okay
> about time something exciting happened to me

YJ:

> well maybe i can pretend to be exciting for you
> you said you were from busan right? whats it like there?

DH:
> yeah i am
> uhhhh well its nice here
> my school is near a beach so everyone likes to go there when it gets too hot

YJ:
> OH THE BEACH! IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO A BEACH

> i bet you and all your friends at school must have gold skin since youre always going there after school LOL

DH:
> not really
> i mean yeah the other kids like to go there and stuff but i only go there sometimes on my own
> its not that I dont have any friends. i got friends but i don’t really hang out with them outside school

YJ:

DH:
> i dunno…i guess its coz im not that close to anyone

YJ:

DH:

> well to be honest theyre all really boring
> they all like talking about the newest kpop idol or something
> no one here really likes hip hop
> no one here knows who jepp is

YJ:
