It’s been a while since Yabu-kun gained so many friends.

And it’s been a while since I left the coffee shop.

He gathered a lot aside from me, Yaotome-kun and Yamada-kun.

Even the other sections come to our room just to talk to him. Especially the girls. Hmpf.

Whatever.

I should just be thankful that he’s starting to socialize.

That he’s getting farther and farther from me too.

“Ohayou Yabu-kun.”

“Ohayou Koharu-chan.” He said.

“Do you have free ~” I asked.

“Yabu-kun!!!!!” A girl outside the room shouted.

“Ah. Matte yo Koharu-chan. I’ll talk to you later.” He said then ran to the girl.

“Demo~..” I said.

I didn’t thought it would be like this.

I hate it.

I hate this feeling.

I hate being ignored.

Especially by him.

I felt someone pat my shoulder.

“Daijobou-desu Koharu-chan.” Yaotome-kun said.

“Un. Ohayou.” I replied sadly.

“It’s been like this since he started to gain friends right?” Yaotome-kun asked.

“Hai.” I said.

“Don’t worry. Maybe it’s just like this in the beginning. He’ll find time for us too.” Yaotome-kun said.

“I hope so…” I said.

Lunch time

“Yabu-kun. Let’s have lunch together! I have sushi today! I’ll give you some!” Yaotome-kun happily shouted.

“Gomen. I’ll have lunch with the other sections.” Yabu-kun answered.

“Ahhh.. so desu ka…” Yaotome-kun said.

“ You’ve been having lunch with them for the past few weeks.” I said.

He’s spending almost all of his time with them.

I miss him already.

“Hontou ni Gomenasai. I have to go.” He said then left the room.

Yaotome’s POV

It’s been weeks since Yabu-kun started gaining popularity.

Because of Koharu-chan, he smiled.

Because of that smile, he’s popular.

And because of that popularity, It seems like we didn’t exist at all.

I can see the sadness in Koharu-chan.

She makes effort for Yabu-kun but he ignores it.

She tries his best to approach him but he always make the others his priority.

He doesn’t seem to notice Koharu-chan’s efforts.

I hope it won’t be long. And he’ll be back again.

Koharu’s POV

I was walking to school with Yaotome-kun.

“I think…” I said.

“Hmm?” he asked with a sandwich on his mouth.

“I think I’m getting used to this. Without him.” I continued.

He removed the sandwich as he talk.

“Don’t be. Please. If you do. I think I will too.” He replied.

We walked silently until we reached the school.

I walked with my head down and then Yaotome-kun elbowed me.

I raised my head and saw him.

Surrounded by a lot of people.

I looked at him in the eye.

He stopped for a while then continued talking to his so called “friends”.

“That’s not what I expected.” Yaotome-kun said.

“Neither do I. He really changed. A lot.” I said.

At the classroom, I didn’t greet him nor talk to him. I also didn’t ask him to have dinner with us because, obviously, he won’t.

He used to walk me home after classes. Yes. He USED to.

I used to go to his house every Saturday.

Every night, I pray that he’ll be back to what he was.

I really do. Because I want him back.

Even he’s not really mine in the first place.

The next day, I was watering the plants at the school when a guy bumped me.

Oh how lucky am I.

I’m all soaked.

I’m gonna beat the f-ing guy the next time I see him.

Fudge! I don’t have any extra clothes with me!

That guy! He’s really gonna get it next time!! >.<

Whaaaa…

What should I do now???

I entered the classroom with my uniform wet.

When I entered, Yabu-kun saw me and then looked at me.

We were just like that for a few seconds until Yaotome-kun talked.

“What happened Koharu-chan?’ He asked.

He wasn’t the one I was expecting to say that.

“Someone bumped me when I was watering the plants.” I said.

“E~~? Do you have any extra clothes? You should change already. You’ll get sick.” He said.

“Unluckily, I don’t.” I said.

Yabu-kun is just sitting there. Smirking.

Doesn’t he have anything to say? Can’t he even ask me if I’m okay?

“I have my PE uniform in my locker. I’ll lend it to you. But dry yourself first.” He threw a towel to me.

“Arigatou.” I said.

I went to the toilet and changed my clothes.

I dried my face but I felt it getting wet again.

I can feel my self crying.

Why am I crying?

Is it because of him?

I wiped the tears and began to sob.

Because he’s not giving me attention?

I covered my face with my hand.

Do you deserve any?

I stopped. And then realized that he’s not obliged to give me any attention. It’s not his responsibility to make me happy. It’s not his responsibility to always be with me. I’m not the only person in this world that he should focus his attention to.

So quit acting like your someone special to him that he needs to give you his attention.

Stop.

I said to myself. Then went back to the classroom.

“Are you ok now?” Yaotome-kun asked.

“Hai. “ I answered.

“What happened to your eyes?” he asked.

“Nandemonai.” I said.

“Hontou?” he asked.

“Hai. Hontou. Thank you for this clothes.” I said.

“It’s okay.” He said with a smile.

I’m thankful that Yaotome-kun is always there for me.

I hope Yabu-kun does too.
