Chapter 7- The Test Result
"Yah, why are you late this afternoon?" Donghae asked while he and Kyuhyun were
walking down the stairs. Every once on a while, Donghae smiles at everyone who greets
him as if he's a superstar.
"Hyung, stop flirting. You already have a girlfriend."
"She won't mind. She's also flirting you know. Hey, answer my question." He looked at
Kyuhyun then greeted a girl who greeted him.
"Man, your girlfriend is here." Kyuhyun looked at the girl under the tree. Shes's with another
girl whom Kyuhyun's heart always leeps when it sees her. Donghae greeted another girl
then looked at the girl under the tree.
"Sooyoungie!"
"Donghae!"
They hugged each other joyfully. "Yoong, you're here too. Annyeong," Donghae greeted
Yoona. Yoona bowed in response. She looked at Kyuhyun who was obviously pretending
not to see her. "Annyeong," she greeted him but he didn't respond. "Yoong, you know my
boyfriend?"
"B-B-B-Boyfriend?"
"Neh... Donghae."
"Oh." Yoona forced a smile and said, "I met him accidentally in the bandroom." She saw
Donghae wrapped his arm around Sooyoung's waist and that made her feel a little jealous.
She suddenly thought it's weird seeing a tall girl with an averaged height boy. Sooyoung
looks mush taller than Donghae. She thought maybe it was her heels.
"Come on. Let's eat before we go home. We have a big day tomorrow."
Yoona was wearing a sad face as they went to the cafeteria. Kyuhyun noticed Yoona's face
but he just stayed silent until they parted ways.
On the Exam day...
"Before I'll distribute the questionnaires, I will rearrange your seats." Sir Choi then arranged
each student. Yuri was beside Seohyun. Sooyoung as sitted by the door. Yoona was
beteen DongHae and KyuHyun.
"Exam starts now."
After the exams, Yoona's brain as drained out from answering all those hard questions. She
went to bed early to regain her strenght and prepare herself for the exam results tomorrow.
The result day...
Yoona was running towards the bulletin board. She begn searching her name. Her eyes
was full of tears hen she saw her ranking. She ran as fast as she can. She then noticed thta
her feet carried her to the rooftop. She crouched down and covered her face. She cried...
She didn't notice that KyuHyun was warching her all along at the corner.
"What are you looking at, Yoona said with a sniff. Kyu didn't answer but just approached
her. He crouched down and looked in her eyes. "Shhh... It will be alright now,"he said and
wiped her wet cheek. Yoona sniffed. They looked at each other's eyes when suddenly,
Yoona cried out loud. Kyu wasn't surprised because he expected this firm her. He drew
her close and hugged her. He let her cry on his shoulders.
After a few minutes, Yoona stopped crying. "Are you ready to tell me what happened?"
"No one knows that I'm just a scholar here that's why I can study in this school. I have to
maintain grades. But...
I ranked at the 50th place."
Kyu was shocked. He thought it could never be. He knows that she can answer any
question and she's as smart as he is ever since. "Come." He grabbed her hand and carried
her to the principals office.
"Principal Lee Sooman, can I check Ms. Yona's papers?" "Why Mr. Cho?"
"We are doubtful of her exam results." The rincipal stayed silent for a while then he stood
up. He opened the 3rd drawer beisde his table. He searched for Yoona's papers. "Here."
Kyu grabbed the envelope and checked the papers. Yoona watched Kyu's serious face.
"Hey, what's worng?"
"Your papers. You have perfect scores on each test.Principal , can we complain about
these to the teachers?" "I give you my permission."
Yoona was still puzzled about Kyu's statement.
Kyu walks fast, Yoona thought.
"Stay here," ordered Kyu.
Yoona sa patiently on the bench outside the faculty room. After 30 minutes, Kyu came out of
the room still clutching Yoona's papers. "Whay did they say?" Yoona excitedly asked.
"They've checked your papers and you did gain perfect scores on each test. Well, except
for your Math test. You added the variable 'x' instead of subtracting them." He stopped and
looked at Yoona's nervous face. He inhaled and said, "They accidentally swapped your test
results to a student named Yoon-ah."
"That means..."
"Yes. You're not in the 50th place."
"Yes!Yes!Yes! Thank you so much Kyu!!" she hugged him in joy. She felt the awkwardness
of hugging him and she quickly let go. "Come on. I want to see which rank am I now." This
time, Yoona was the one who grabbed Kyu's hand and dragged him to the bulletin board.
The secretary just left when they arrived at the bulletin board. Yoona started to search for
her name again. Her eyes were teary when she saw her rank now. "Hey, are you alright?"
Yoona looked at him ith teary eyes and said," I ranked 2nd!" Yooan covered her wet
face.Kyu was happy for her. He wanted to hug her tightly but he controlled himself. He
thought, "it's just a friendly hug, Kyu,go hug her!" When he was about to wrap his arms, she
looked up. "I wonder who's in 1st place..Cho.. Hey it's you!" Kyu proudly raised his head.
"Wow! you ha a 100 average point! you perfected the exams!"
"Why are you so surprised? Of course I'm in 1st place and I always will be." He leaned
close to Yoona's face and said, "I bet you can't beat me.." He smiled arrogantly and walked
away. "Hey evil Kyu! I accept your challenge!I'll beat you!" Yoona shouted. Kyu just raised
his hand in fareell without even looking at her. "What an arrogant guy, hmmp"
Kyu can't resist to smile.
