I slowly removed my grasp from __________'s arm and let my other hand fall down from her face. She turned around to look at me with those mesmerizing eyes of hers. There was fear for something in them, the fear I wanted to protect her from. I didn’t know how, when or why, all I knew was that I had fallen for her. Although her father had sent me to Gems High specifically for protecting her, I wanted to protect her due to a whole new reason now. With just a tiny little gesture, she always managed to make my heart yearn for her. When I was first assigned to her, I thought she’d be one of those pampered, rich, dumb and mini-Barbie heiresses who knew nothing better than to spend their parents’ hard-earned money. But I hadn’t been more wrong in my entire life. More than anything, she wanted to break free of her parents’ shadows and make her place in this world all on her own. That’s what I admired so much about her.
