Mei Hua POV:

"Mei Hua, will you go out with me?"

"Sure, why not?"

"LUHAN ARE YOU CRAZY?" Kris screamed out.

"Yeah, Kris is right. Luhan, Lee Soo Man is gonna get pissed." Suho joined in.

"What could possibly go wrong?" I interjected.

"EVERYTHING!" Kris yelled.

His face seemed really red, and I swear that I saw a throbbing vein on his forehead.

I held up my hands defensively.

"It's just one date." I replied

Luhan looked a bit dejected.

"Fine. Just one date. But nothing flashy." Kris finally agreed, but rubbed his temples with irritation.

Luhan looked more mirthful.

"Plus it'll be nothing. Just a friendly date. A celebration you could call it. I got my memories."

I patted my sore head.

"And he got his eyesight again." I finished, pointing at my eyes.

And Luhan looked somber once more. 

What's up with his mood swings?

"Can I come then?" Chanyeol asked.

Before I could say anything, Luhan answered.

"NO! This is just me..."

He paused.

"...and Mei Hua."

Luhan POV:

I can't lose this chance to confess my feelings to Mei Hua.

I went up to my room for a second to think.

I'm not a detective, but it's pretty obvious.

Mei Hua has never been in a relationship, or something like that.

Neither have I, but still...

I know this is not a mere crush.

I've had crushes, and lots of them...

But I think the most romance Mei Hua ever felt was when I kissed her.

I guess we had each other's first kisses.

I know she had mine.

When Luhan asked Mei Hua out, Ifelt my head blow. 

I felt better when she said it was a friendly date.

But I wish I was the one to ask her.

The most affection I ever showed was when I gave her my jacket.

But I didn't go up  to help her up.

If I had been braver.

 I am so...

AAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH.

I grabbed my hair and pulled it.

"Dude, you OK?" Chen asked.

"I'm fine." I replied.

I  was frustrated.

I have never been like this before.

I feel as if my heart will explode.

Mei Hua POV:

Umm, I thought Luhan asked me out for lunch.

Where did he go?

Where did everyone go?

I walked up a flight of stairs, and  was welcomed by an array of doors.

Which one is Luhan's? 

I knocked on one door and saw the back of someone.

He was grasping his hair and pulling it, but I couldn't see his face.

Was it Luhan?

"Luhan?" I asked.

The guy let his hair go and he sat straighter.

He flattened his hair and was about to turn around when I closed it.

Scary...

I went to the next door, and knocked.

"Come in" I heard a familiar voice.

I walked in, and saw Luhan laying on the bed, with his hands behind his head.

When I walked in, he sat up and looked at me with a mix of glee and depression.

"Hey, do you wanna go for lunch today or what?"

"Now?"

"Yeah, you wanted to go out right?" I asked.

"Oh, right. Where do you want to go?" he questioned with anticipation. 

Hmmm, I thought you wanted to go out.

Why ask me?

"Umm, I dunno?" I shrugged.

"Let's just walk around and see where we could go" he said standing up.

He walked through a door in the back of the room, and came out with a coat and scarf.

"Let's go." he said walked out the room entrance.

So we walked for like 30 minutes, and I didn't recognize ANYTHING.

I don't have amnesia still, do I?

Everything was at least 10x fancier than the area we were at before.

There were people in fur coats, and sporting lot's of bling.

Many of the women were wearing ridiclously high heels.

Luhan kept his head down but I could tell that many of the women were attracted to him.

Or maybe they recognized him.

Either way, he was drawing lots of attention.

Author POV:

Luhan picked up his pace, and Mei Hua was really confused.

She stopped and quickly retied her shoes to ensure she won't trip.

Luhan noticed her brief disappearence, and stopped.

He speedily walked back to her and grabbed her hand.

"Huh?" 

"Hurry" he whispered.

Mei Hua's face grew red at the immediate contact.

They arrived at a large restaurant, the name in French. 

The two walked in, Mei Hua unsure of what to do.

Soft jazz was played by a band towards the back of the restaurant.

It was dimly lit, with bursts of bright color sporadically.

There were a large amount of people, but they spoke in hushed voices.

It grew even quieter, when Luhan walked in.

Mainly because most people in their were girls/women.

Luhan removed his jacket as the waiter sat them down and handed them menus.

Mei Hua glanced at the menu once and put it down. 

Luhan thoroughly scanned the leather covered menus.

He finished looking through it, before  he realized Mei Hua was staring off to space.

"You are done ordering?" he asked.

"No"

"Then why aren't you looking some more?"

"I don't understand any of this." Mei Hua said picking up the menu once more.

Luhan took the menu, and flipped it.

"It was upside-down" Luhan said smiling.

Mei Hua made an 'O' shape with before reading the menu again.

Luhan POV:

I smiled at her innocence.

Based in my inference, I don't think she's ever been to a place like this.

I saw her mouthing the menu choices, with much question.

"Beignet au fromage? Sous vide duck ? What the heck is Bouillabaisse?"

Soon a waitress came to take our orders.

"Are you ready to order?"

She smiled brightly and I gave a small one back.

"I'll have the Coq au vin and some hot tea."

(A/N: Coq au vin is a French braise of chicken cooked with wine, lardons, mushrooms, and optionally garlic.)

"Excellent choice sir." she said winking.

When she turned to Mei Hua, her smile dissapated.

"And you?"

"Umm, I shall have- No, not that. I urr-"

"She'll have the same thing" I said at last.

"Yeah, I'll have that."

"Kay." the waitress said.

She left and took the menus.

Then there was an awkward silence.

"Mei Hua, I want to tell you something." I finally breathed out.

"Sure, tell away" she said

"Well, I want you to know. I have recently realized that I am in-" I started to say.

Then the waitress came back with our teas.

"Can I get you anything while you wait?" she asked sweetly turning to me.

"No we are fine."  I answered, turning back to Mei Hua.

"Are you sure?" she said.

She put one hand on the table, pushing her upper arm against her .

I guess it was an attempt to seduce me?

"I'm completely sure."

This is a fine dining establishment?

Mei Hua scoffed and looked away from the waitress.

The waitress rolled her eyes.

She strutted away, and swayed her hips.

"As I was saying, I have recently realized that I am in love with someone."

"Oh that's nice. Was it at the hospit-" she said looking around her.

"It's you."

That got her attention.

"When I first met you, it sorta was like a crush. It was a coincidence. I thought you were cute and all... But then when I said I wanted to meet you, you stood me up(Mei Hua: I still don't think I did)- and I was kinda devastated. So I panicked and asked Chanyeol to find you. And then you came to our dorm and other stuff happened and I got hit in the nuts and you ran away and Chanyeol got hit a few times and- and- and- yeah. I realized in the hospital, that I was in love with you, because being blind, and not seeing your face, made me realize."

"I, uh , don't know what to say."

"Just say yes."

"Yes to what?"

"Yes to giving me a chance. To realize your feelings for me. If you don't have any, I'll back off." I pleaded.

"We'll see." she said, a little red faced.

She coughed as the food arrived.

The waitress was still giving me smiles, and I turned away, but she didn't seem to get the message.

So I grabbed Mei Hua's hand.

"Where do you wanna go later?" I said to Mei Hua.

Mei Hua glanced at my hand over hers, and grew pink, despite being red faced.

"I-i'm not r-really sure."

The waitress air through her teeth and coughed, and then she left, looking kinda pissed.

"I think there is a festival going on nearby, wanna go?"

"O-ok" she replied.

We ate lunch quietly

After lunch we walked around, until we found the festival.

Call it a carnival if you will.

Without the rides.

Good for me I guess.

It seemed like a farmers market without the produce and more handmade products.

So a festival.

Mei Hua was impressed by a lot of the small items at the stall.

"Whaaaa~ Soooo kyeopta!"

She held up a cellphone keychain, and it looked like a mix of a dog and bunny.

It was cute.

"How much for this?" she asked the stall owner, an old ajhussi.

"Oh, that's a couple keychain. Looks perfect for you guys." he replied smiling.

Mei Hua and I were burning up.

"It's okay. I don't even have a cellphone." she replied, giving a weak smile while she handed back the keychain.

She walked ahead of me and the ajhussi grabbed my arm over the display table as I followed after Mei Hua.

"You guys seem a bit awkward. Give this to her." he said giving me a toothless smile.

I bowed and accepted the keychains.

"Thank you kind ajhussi."

I ran after Mei Hua and she finally noticed that I was gone.

"Where did you go?" she asked.

"Me? Oh, I was just retying my shoes."

"Great job Luhan." she said sarcastically.

I looked down and both of my shoes came untied.

"Need to improve your school skills. Tying your shoes is something you learn in primary school, right?"

She bent down and tied both of my shoes for me.

She gave me a smile and continued to walk.

We past a vendor selling candy haw*, and I heard Mei Hua's stomach growling.

She gripped her stomach.

"Didn't eat much did you?" I asked smirking.

"No" she said in a low voice.

I saw her in the restaurant poking at her food, and drinking more tea than eating.

Guess she doesn't like French food.

"You want one?" I asked pointing to the candy haw*.

*** This is candy haw berries. The berries are dipped in molten sugar which is left to harden in the cold and sold on a stick. You can also find variations with oranges, grapes, strawberries, and bananas, or dipped in crumbled peanuts, sugar, or sesame seeds. It's yummy and popular in Beijing. I really want to eat it now...Nom Nom***

Mei Hua nodded.

"2 sticks please." I said holding up two fingers.

The vendor seller handed me two sticks, and I thanked her. 

I could see the glee in Mei Hua's eyes when I handed her the stick.

She happily munched on the stick while I slowly ate mine.

The mixture of the sweetness and sourness was perfect.

"I haven't had this since I was a child." she said.

"It's good, but not like the one's in Beijing" I said replying.

"Oh I know!!!! It's soo goood!" she said happily.

Mei Hua POV:

So yummy.

Om nom....

I gazed up at Luhan and saw him enjoying his candy as much as me.

He beamed at me, and I grinned back.

I noticed his chiseled features.

His round face, his soft lips.

And doe eyes!

He is handsome.

Should I give him a chance?

Suddenly, a gust of wind breezed ast me and I shivered.

I never really noticed the snow on the top of my shoes, melting.

I gripped my upper arms, in an attempt to warm up.

Author POV:

Luhan noticed Mei Hua's coldness.

Mei Hua tried to ignore the cold, by distracting herself by looking around.

Luhan ed his coat and sneakily slid it over her shoulders.

Mei Hua made a move to remove it, but Luhan smiled and told her to wear it.

"Plus I have this scarf. It'll keep me warm."

"Thank you Luhan"

They walked back to the dorms, where Mei Hua's stuff as still waiting.

At the door and with her stuff, Mei Hua took off the coat.

"Thank you for lunch and everything else." Mei Hua said as she left.

"Wait!" Luhan yelled.

Mei Hua spun around, and Luhan ran to her.

"Here"

He handed her the female one of the keychains from earlier.

In his other hand, he held up the male companion.

"Wow. Thanks." 

She stood on her tippy-toes and pecked Luhan on the cheek.

"Yes." she whispered, as she walked away.

But that was loud enough for Luhan to hear.

Luhan fist pumped the air, and walked back in.

But the whisper was loud enough for someone watching them.

Someone, who was against their date.

Someone who understood, what that meant.
