“We haven’t even mastered English yet and the manager wants us to begin on Chinese?” Jin says. “Unbelievable.”

 

“Chinese is hard, we need a head start before we plan on entering the Chinese market.” Suga says.

 

“With the THAAD conflict, we’ll be lucky to even be allowed to promote there” JHope comments.

 

“BigHit’s CEOs are expecting the conflict to blow over in a year or two.” RapMon explains. “It gives us enough time to slowly pick up the language.”

 

“So Minchan is going to have a lot of extra work,” V says.

 

“When will we even have time for Chinese lessons? Our schedules are packed until the evening.” Jimin asks.

 

“You just answered your own question, ChimChim” Suga comments. “Evenings”

 

“But that’s dinner time!” JHope complains.

 

“Technically, it’ll be after dinner” RapMon corrects. “So later in the evening”

If English was a challenge to teach BTS, Chinese was a nightmare. Tones, tones, and more tones...and the characters, where do you even begin with the characters? Of course knowing Japanese Kanji helped them a little, but they were so confused with the simplified vs. traditional.

 

“Da jia hao, wo men shi fang dan xiao nian dan” V says, moving his lips in an exaggerated way, hoping that it’ll help his pronounciation.

 

“V, it’s ‘shao’ nian and ‘tuan’ not ‘dan’” You correct as he writes down the pinyin to help himself remember.

 

The members start joking around and you could tell it was that time of the evening. They probably weren’t used to having class this late, since evenings was usually time for them to relax and play video games or something.

 

JHope is cracking jokes with Jimin and Jin, while Jungkook is just randomly singing a Wang Lee Hom song.

 

Near the end of class, V just sort of gave up and began speaking in Japanese instead.

 

Suga and Rap Monster were the only ones who were focused on the lesson in the textbook.

 

“Ok, that should be good for today” You announce. “You guys worked hard.”

 

They all begin to pack up, and thank you politely for your hard work as well.

 

“Noona, are you just going home alone again?” Jimin asks.

 

“Mm hmm” You nod smiling at him.

 

“We can’t let you do that,” Jin says. “It’s dangerous for a woman to walk home alone at night”

 

“Yeah, if anything happens we would never forgive ourselves” V says, putting on a pretend puppy face.

 

“I’ll walk her home!” JHope volunteers excitedly, only to have his mouth covered by V’s hand. V smiles innocently.

 

RapMon chuckles. “Why don’t we have Jungkook take her home?” He suggests. “She’ll surely be safe with our strong maknae.”

 

With that, they all leave and Jungkook is left in the classroom with you.

 

“Uh…shall we go then?” He says, scratching the back of his head.

 

You nod and the two of you head out.

 

As you walk outside you noticed that the weather was quite chilly. You had a sweater so it wasn’t too unbearable, but looking over at Jungkook you felt a little worried.

 

“It’s really cold, you don’t have to walk me all the way,” You suggest.

 

Jungkook shakes his head. “I’m ok. Besides the hyungs put your safety into my hands.” He smiles reassuringly.

 

Jungkook was shivering slightly, but he didn’t want you to worry about him so he tried hard to hide it.

“Do you live alone?” He asks, trying to strike up a conversation.

 

“I have a roommate,” You answer. “ And she’s a hardcore ARMY” You add.

 

“Ahh,” He says.

 

“So that’s how you came to our concert.” Jungkook says, after you explain to him the whole situation of how you became a fan yourself.

 

“Yup, it’s a funny story now that I think about it.” You chuckle. “I never thought I’d end up where I am right now”

 

“I guess you could call it fate in some way” Jungkook says. “I rejected 7 offers from entertainment companies to join BigHit. It’s incredible how many ARMYs all over the world are supporting us even though we’re not from the Big 3.”

 

“It’s because of all your hard work and the music you put out there” You compliment. “Even when I wasn’t an ARMY, I enjoyed your songs.”

 

Jungkook smiles. “Do you have a favorite?” He asks curiously.

 

“Save Me,” You answer after a moment of thought. “And I really like the lyrics of Young Forever, it really expresses BTS and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life well”

 

“The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” Jungkook whispers and looks up at the sky.

 

“Well we’re here,” You say as you reach your apartment. You notice that the light to your roommate’s bedroom is still on. She must be preparing for bed.

 

You thank Jungkook as he walks off putting his earphones in his ears.

“Jungkook’s sick?” You ask worried as the manager called to tell you that one-on-one English class with Jungkook is cancelled.

 

“The members said he has a fever. Why don’t you go over to the dorm and make sure he’s ok?” The manager says. “The members all have practice, so they can’t take care of him right now.”

 

You quickly hang up the phone and rush over to BTS’s dorm. You were certain he must’ve caught a cold last night. You were in the midst of blaming yourself for not being adamant enough to force him to just go home last night, when you open the door to what seemed like a messy storage closet. There were dozens of shoes on a rack as well as a bunch spread over the floor. The shelved where packed with books, magazines, action figures, and random things, and the aired smelled of Jajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork.

 

You walk into one of the bedrooms and notice that there was no one there. He must be in the other room. You think to yourself as you tiptoe over the cluttered mess. You open the door and see Jungkook fast asleep wrapped tightly in his blanket. He looked normal, but when you touched his forehead you could tell he was burning up. Luckily there was a note on the door that told you where the spare key was or else you would’ve had to wake Jungkook up to open the door for you.

 

You head over to the kitchen to make some soup knowing that he’ll probably be hungry when he wakes up. While you were at it, you decided to clean up their dorm too. How do they live like this? You think as you pick up a sweaty sock from the coffee table in the living room.

 

When the soup was done, you open the lid to let it cool off. You were still mopping the floor when you hear some noise behind you.

 

“Hyung?”

 

You turn around to see Jungkook rubbing his eyes, clearly still sleepy.

 

“Jungkook-ah, it’s me, Minchan.” You say, walking over to him. “You should continue to rest.”

 

“Noona?” He says, now getting a closer look at you. “How did…”

 

“Are you hungry? I made you soup” You say, while guiding him over to the couch.

 

After drinking two warm bowls of soup, you could tell he was feeling much better and his fever was going down.

 

“Thank you, noona” Jungkook says, while smiling at you. The smile that could make any kind of hardship in the world worth it.

 

“I should apologize. It’s my fault you’re in this condition,” You say.

 

Jungkook shakes his head.

 

“I think the hyungs are going to thank me for getting sick when they see how clean our dorm is. I don’t think I’ve seen the floor since the day we moved in.” Jungkook laughs.

 

“Can you make other things besides soup?” Jungkook asks curiously.

 

“Umm, yeah I actually love cooking. Growing up, my parents were always too busy to cook, so if I wanted delicious food, I would have to make it myself. I also enjoy baking.” You smile, as Jungkook’s face beams.

 

“Can you make a full course Korean meal?” He asks excitedly.

 

You look at his cute face and giggle. “Sure” You reply. “But I can only make the most of what you guys have in the fridge.”

 

“I’m not picky. I’ll eat anything that’s good,” Jungkook says, laughing.

 

He stood in the doorway of the kitchen as he watched you wash and chopped up vegetables, marinate meat, and cook rice. Jungkook was amazed at how motherly you seemed right then, and couldn’t help but imagine what a good wife you would make.

 

Just as you finished cooking, you and Jungkook heard the click of the front door and the rest of the members walk in.

 

“Yaaaaa! It smells amazing!” JHope shouts from the hall.

 

“We’ve been robbed!” Jimin exclaims looking around to make sure all his stuff was still there.

 

“More like a angel from the heavens came and cleaned up our dorm” V says.

 

“Noona, you make us food?” Jimin says when he walks into the kitchen.

 

“Ah-hem, you mean she made ME food,” Jungkook says, crossing his arms.

 

“Haha, there’s enough for everyone” You laugh at their childishness.

 

“So besides languages, you’re also a master chief” RapMon comments.

 

“Thanks for getting sick, dongsaeng” Suga says, patting Jungkook’s shoulder.

 

Jungkook gives you the ‘I told you’ look and you laugh.

 

“Whoa, I’m going to admit, this is almost better than the food I cook” Jin says while everyone is gathered eating.

 

“You mean, it IS better than the food you cook” Jungkook retorts.

 

“I’m so satisfied, I’m not even going to get angry at that” Jin says, stuffing another piece of chicken in his mouth and following it with a bite of rice and a spoonful of soup.

 

After everyone finishes eating, the members all thank you for the food, and help you clean the dishes.

 

They then sent you off, and you tell them to take good care of Jungkook until he fully recovers.

 

“Stop by often!” You hear JHope shout as you walk away.
