I was calmer for our second performance of “Tempest”. It was still a wonder, but not as shaking as “Sirens” had been. After the performance, I was relatively calm, but was somehow still trembling.
My hands were shaking for some reason, and didn't stay still no matter what I did to try and stop them. Someone picked up on that, too.
I stood in the hallway that led to the stage, watching Key, Amber, and Kris’ performance of “Like a G6” alone, before a someone cleared their throat from behind me. I turned around to see Chanyeol’s tall frame.
“Hey, Yeol,” I said before turning back around to watch the rest of the stage. “What's up?”
“Bored,” he stated, leaning against the wall across from me. “What are you doing?”
“Watching, obviously.”
“Obviously,” he repeated before falling silent. I could feel the boy staring at me for a good minute before I looked back at him.
He frowned. “You look pale.”
“That's my skin tone.”
“No, no, paler than usual,” he observed. I brushed my hair back with my hand as he continued to frown at my appearance. “Woah, Lani, are you shaking?” He stepped off the wall, his eyes following my hands.
“Show me your hands,” he commanded. I looked at him strangely with an eyebrow raised at his tone. “Please.” I displayed both of my hands at his nicety.
He stared at them intently. My ring clad fingers were making slight, but relatively fast movements, as were my palms. “Crap, they are shaking.” He looked back up at me, then sandwiched one of my hands between the two of his.
My eyes widened momentarily at his relatively bold action. I blinked, once, twice, at the feeling of his hand on mine. They were huge compared to mine; you couldn't see my hands because they were masked by his. They were warm, but not that uncomfortable, hot type warm. A pleasant warm, like a good cuddle during the winter.
He rubbed his calloused hands on mine, gripping the bottom and rubbing the top. He removed the top hand, but let the bottom stay the way it was, gently lifting my own, with his thumb atop my palm.
“Have you eaten?” He asked, concerned.
I blinked at his question. “What?” I felt dazed for some reason. “Oh, no, not since last night, I didn't get time.”
He tutted. “Seriously, Lani? You need your energy, don't you know? That's why you're shaking.”
I let out a small “oh” before he continued. “There's food in the commons, you could have eaten some there.” I nodded at his words. “Let's go, then. I'm hungry, too.” As I stated my affirmation, he led me down the hallway, and I realized his hand was still wrapped around mine, tighter now. I felt my face heat up and I almost immediately pulled it away from his grasp.
He turned to look at me as I did, and I swore I saw his blushing face before the tall boy turned back around.
“Sit down,” he said gesturing to the table, “I’ll get something.”
