Him

I eyed each of her movements that she made as she breaks into sweat with every action of her body. Soon she crashed down on the ground and huffed and puffed like the wolf from three little pigs.

“Yah,” I went over to her and nudged her with my foot. “Get up. You still have a lot more to know.”

“AISH,” She yelled. “BREAK TIME!”

“There are no breaks,” I lectured. “There’s only a week left until the performance.”

She then sat up and frowned at me. “It’s 7PM, and I haven’t even eaten dinner yet fool.”

“Fine,” I sighed. “Five minute break. I’ll grab some food from the vending machine.”

“What is this?” She questioned with a cheeky smile. “Monkey-boy is shouting me food?”

“No, you owe me.” I said as I walked out of the studio to only see Hyorin suddenly jolting up from her sleep.

“You guys are done?” She beamed with hopes.

“What’re you doing here at this time?” I ask. “You should go home.”

“You guys aren’t done yet huh …” She sulked.

I shook my head and scratched my neck. “Not even close, why?”

“I only saw you once today!”

I then patted her head and smiled. “Don’t worry. We’ll see more of each other. I just want to make sure this girl doesn’t mess up our performance.”

Her face flushed a little—maybe she has a fever--and she nodded.

“Now go home and eat dinner.”

She then skipped home and I continued my way to the vending machine. I grabbed a few chip packets and returned to the dance studio to only see her still lying flat on the ground.

“Be thankful that I bought you this and—“

Her eyes were closed.

Are you kidding me? The girl is lying asleep on the ground.

“Yah yah,” I poked her a few times. “There’s no time to sleep. Wake up~”

My poking simply just pushed her body towards me, still sleeping so comfortably. I then decided to give up as I exhaled a sigh and lied down next to her, resting my head on my arm. Unknowingly, I closed my eyes to sleep too.

Her

“Argh …” I groan as I open my eyes after being pushed by Hyorin.

“WHAT IS THIS?” She exclaimed. “YOU TWO SLEPT HERE TOGETHER?!”

Monkey boy stood up and rubbed his eyes. “If by sleeping together you mean resting in the same room, then yes, we did sleep together.”

“OPPA!”She squealed as she hit Monkey-boy.

Donghae was standing at the side awkwardly as he watched the scene.

This girl sure is overreacting for a guy who isn’t her boyfriend—oh, wait, I see how it is.

I headed outside with my towel over my shoulder as I saw staring eyes focusing on me.

“Wow, sleeping together in the same room. What a progress”

“Eunhyuk must really like this girl.”

“They kind of suit each other though. The Dancing Couple.”

Their whispers are getting louder and more annoying by each day, aren’t they? It’s not like I didn’t want to respond, but I felt that even if I did, they wouldn’t believe me and would just make up even more rumours. What’s wrong with it anyway? Opposite genders sleeping in the same room happens all the time nowadays.

“Hyoyeon ah!” I guess Sem’s close to me now for him to call my name casually. “How was the lesson with Eunhyuk?”

“The body moves to not the beat of the music,” He spins me back up. “But to the beat of the heart.”

“It was … all right I guess.” I reply. “But it seems Hyorin’s not enjoying it.”

He then sighed and patted my back. “Well,” he explained as we continued walking through the halls. “That might be because her, Eunhyuk and Donghae have been close childhood friends. She’s a bit clingy.”

“Yah,” Oh look, monkey-boy’s here to yell at me again. “Where do you think you’re going?”

“Um, home?” I say. “My mom’s probably been wondering where I was. Shouldn’t you go home and lessen the concern of your parents too?”

“That’s not needed.” He said.

“What’re you talking—“

“—then I’ll see you back at the studio later.” He interrupts and leaves.

Maybe I was over analysing the situation, but his back made him look lonely in a crowded place. It was as if he didn’t want to go home to his parents.

Him

“Sooooooooooooooooooo …” Donghae spoke as he was eating his heart shaped muffin. “You slept with Hyoyeon?”

I then stared at him in burden as I exhaled a deep breath. “It’s not like we kissed or hugged or held hands—“

“—LIES!” Hyorin shouted. “You held her hand when you pulled her to the dance room!”

Actually, I held her wrist at that time but I actually have held her hand when dancing and pressed my face against hers when dancing.

“So what?” I retorted. “It’s not like I like her.”

Hyorin, Donghae and I were sitting at our usual place of the school—on the bench in front of Gae In’s garden.

“Well at least it’s the three of us again!” Hyorin giggled as she hooked both mine and Donghae’s arm.

Her

“Mom!” I called as I entered the convenience store. “I’m back!”

“Hmm? Shouldn’t you be at school?”

“Mom,” I begin to ask. “Weren’t you worried that I didn’t come home last night?”

 “Why? I should be happy that you weren’t home!” She reasoned and chuckled. “You’re working hard at a fantastic school and I don’t have to feed you.”

“Aigoo, aigoo, I might as well leave forever.”

“Try,” She threatened. “See if you can survive without me! Hmph!”

I then laughed and decided to stay around longer to help out the store and eat some grub because I AM HUNGRY.

As time went by, I realised that the sun was setting. I quickly rush out with my headphones to the park to just enter my world of happiness.

“W-What’re you doing here?!” I gasped as I saw Monkey-boy standing in my zone.

“You’re late.” He said. “I told you to come to the dance studio.”

“Oh … about that—“

“—let’s begin.”

The man cannot let a woman finish her sentence!

He took out his iPod dock speakers and attached his iPod as he played the song.

“Next rule to learn in dancing is confidence.”

“Bring it on.” I smirk as I drop my bag to the ground, beginning to break down into various movements with the rhythm of the music.

For an unknown reason, I felt more enlightened than usual. I’ve danced in my world many times but when monkey boy entered, I enjoyed the exhilarating moves that we did together.

Maybe it’s because I love dancing.
