Sleepover #2
Tender Love | ChanBaekⒸhanyeol called Baekhyun over towards the kitchen after announcing the dinner was done. He shut the Math book and went over immediately as he realised he was hungrier than he thought.
The males sat down together and dug in the food that was served.
"Let's see if you stay true to your bragging," Baekhyun teased as he took his first bite of the food. He honestly expected it to be only on the level of average, but when the taste hit him, it made him melt on the inside. If he didn't know Chanyeol made it, he'd think if was some professional chef had broke in and made the food.
"How is it?" Chanyeol asked excitedly, not being able to take his eyes off of the smaller one.
Baekhyun couldn't help but to want to be playful, and therefore hid his surprised face and ate normally. "It's okay," he lied, and carefully gazed up to witness his reaction.
"Oh, thanks," he smiled. "I'm glad you can eat, which is why I made it,” he said.
Baekhyun stared at him speechless. He wasn't upset that I said that? "You don't want me to compliment you?" he asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"Well, that'd be nice, but not everyone can be fully satisfied with my cooking," he replied with another smile, but Baekhyun knew he wanted it.
"I'm only kidding Chanyeol,” Baekhyun finally gave in as his reaction wasn't as funny as he thought it'd be. "It's delicious and went way over my expectations."
Chanyeol's grin grew its double size. "Really?" he asked excited. "Thanks Baek!"
The males continued to eat their meal together, sometimes chatting about random things, and sometimes fell silent. At one silent moment, Baekhyun had this itching question he wanted to ask the other, but he tried to hold himself back.
"Hey, Chanyeol?" Baekhyun started, finally giving in to himself, "can I ask you something?"
Chanyeol smiled up at him from his plate. "Of course Baekhyunie," he said.
"Have you ever been in love with anyone before?" he asked. It may sound incredibly stupid, especially at such random moment, but he needed to know if Chanyeol fancied anyone. It would either help him forget, or rise up his hope, depending on the other's answer.
"I have," he answered honestly, "I am.”
"You are? You mean, you are at this moment?" Baekhyun asked.
"Yes."
Baekhyun couldn’t help but to feel his heart race, although he didn't know how he felt about the giant’s answer, but it was his fault for asking anyways. He did want to know the truth. "Who's the lucky girl?" he asked, faking a smile to look more supportive. "Someone I know?"
"Why would I tell you when you won't tell me about you?" he asked seriously.
"Because I'm your closest friend?" he tried, but Chanyeol still chuckled at him.
"Right back at you," he replied.
"Is it someone in our class?" Baekhyun asked again, hoping to get some hints. If he knew who the person was Chanyeol had a crush on, then maybe he could help him be happy. He wasn't the perfect matchmaker, but he could still try for his best friend.
"In our class, yes," he answered.
"She must be lucky since you like her," Baekhyun said with a sincere smile, "someone attractive and with a brain.”
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're jealous," the taller one teased.
Immediately Baekhyun repeated 'retreat' in his head as he hid his embarrassment and tried to laugh it off as a joke. "Jealous? Why would you think that?"
"You compared yourself to this crush of mine," he smiled, rather satisfied with the flushing boy.
"Just shut up, please," he muttered, obviously embarrassed, whilst rolling his eyes.
After finishing their meals, Chanyeol cleared the table and started with the dishes, but as he caught the other sneaking out, he called after him.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked.
"To finish my homework," he said and pointed at the unfinished work on the table that wasn't too far away from the kitchen.
"Oh no you're not," Chanyeol opposed, "you're helping me with the dishes."
Baekhyun frowned, but whined with his natural cuteness, trying to escape the nightmare. "But I need to finish them," he pouted.
"If you help me finish, it'll go a lot faster, and then I can even help you with them," Chanyeol suggested, which Baekhyun disagreed to immediately.
"No way I'm not continuing our deal," he said.
Chanyeol laughed. "Help me, and I'll return the favour and give you the answer right away. No more questions," he told him.
Baekhyun's smile brightened up. "Okay!" he agreed right away with a smile and started to help the giant. When they quickly finished the dishes, they also finished Baekhyun's homework in not time, and suddenly the evening was approaching them.
"Oh , I promised my parents we'd be home around nine o'clock," Chanyeol muttered as he stood up immediately.
Baekhyun stared at him for a second. "Wait, did you just say we?" he asked, just in case he'd misheard.
"I did. You're spending the night at our house," he said as if it was decided just like that, which Baekhyun hadn't even heard of until now.
"Huh? No, I'm staying here, alone," he said stubbornly.
"No, you're not," Chanyeol disagreed. "Why do you keep saying you wanna be alone when we both know you don't want to? You've already told me, but whenever I try to keep you company, you keep pushing me away." Chanyeol had to be honest, he felt hurt by the fact Baekhyun tried to escape his company or just seem like he didn't want to, but he knew him well enough to know what he really want
