; BARGAIN
Unity [ MONSTA X ]"A bargain isn't a bargain unless it's something you need."
There was a low stone wall that surrounded the cemetery when they arrived. Tall willow trees cast shadows across the grave stones and overhead the sky was ominous. Long, thin strands of grass bent over in the harsh wind while flecks of rain dropped onto the windscreen of the car.
Wonho’s eyes were still focused on the map that was in his hand, his fingers brushing the corners slightly. He in took a deep breath and looked up, his fair hair hanging loosely in his eyes. He took in the surroundings through the slowly fogging window.
He studied the few family tombs in the distance, some hidden beneath the branches of tall trees. His vision was predominantly a sea of grey stones. He slowly folded up the map and placed it quietly back inside the glove box.
“Shownu should take about twenty minutes to get here,” Kihyun stated, opening the door of the car. The rest of their drive had been in complete silence, aside from Wonho giving out the occasional direction.
Wonho stepped out of the car soon afterwards, an iciness crawling up his spine. He felt the rain gently tap his face as it fell from the dark clouds.
“Which one is the family crypt?” Wonho enquired, shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his coat. He saw Kihyun rub his shoulder, his jaw twitching slightly.
“I’ll know it when I see it,” Kihyun informed, “his family has an insignia.” Wonho simply nodded his head and moved to walk by the dark haired male’s side. He kept a bit of distance between them, his eyes falling to the rocky ground.
Kihyun’s own eyes wandered over to Wonho occasionally as they trekked down the pathway, in the direction of the tombs. Flicks of rain rolled down his cheeks slowly and his lips felt numb. His hair blew around in the wind that came from behind them.
The sound of gravel crunched under his shoes. His skin crawled with goose bumps despite the fact that he was wearing an oversized coat. He rubbed his hands together, pressing his lips together into a thin line.
“You’ve been awfully quiet. Are you okay?” Kihyun eventually asked. Wonho stopped walking and exhaled softly, staring up at him. He chewed on the inside of his lower lip while the dark haired male stared at him, his expression masking that of concern.
“I’ve just been thinking,” he started.
“Thinking about what?” Kihyun quizzed, “You don’t need to worry, we’ll sort this out. It’ll be fine.”
“It’s not that…” he in took a deep breath. He stared at the thin grass rocking in the wind, drastically from side to side. “You made no hesitation to defend me when that man pulled the gun on me. I suppose I was just wondering why.”
“I…” Kihyun paused, his heart jumping within his chest. “Well like I said before, I don’t to see you hurt.” He took a tentative step forward, his gaze sliding away from the blond male to scan the area.
Wonho felt like someone’s hand was around his throat, making it difficult to speak. His shoulders were stiff and his hair was brushing lightly across the bruise near his forehead. He hesitated before uttering a silent word.
“Is that all?” Rather than moving forward like his companion, he remained in the same position, curling his fingers up into tight fists. He could feel his pulse pounding against the side of his neck.
“Was there something else you wanted me to say?” A low rumble echoed behind the dark clouds that loomed over their heads.
“I was just curious as to whether or not you had…any feelings for me.” The air around them fell silent. Kihyun came to a halt, unable to look back. His brown eyes settled on the stone buildings in front of them.
“Because of the kiss?” he thought out loud. “I care for you, Hoseok.” For Wonho, that soft murmu
