If anyone told Yoongi a few hours ago that he would be currently standing in the middle of an art shop, watching a young boy’s eyes light up with joy at the sight of a dragon shaped eraser, he would have told them that they had an over-active imagination. But yet, here he was watching Taehyung trying to choose which eraser he wanted, because ‘this one has pointy wings, but this one has a longer flame,” was absolutely a necessary point in deciding.

Yoongi looked at the price tag at the front of the display; despite never having to worry about money or expenses, he also knew what a good price was for certain items. When he read the scruffy writing stating “Erasers: 10p each! (Any size! Any design!)” he tapped Taehyung softly on the shoulder.

“Why don’t you get both?”

“Isn’t that too much?”

“Too much? They’re 10p each, you can afford to get both if you can’t decide.”

Taehyung looked at Yoongi, then back at the erasers. He stared at them for another 20 seconds before putting down the one with the longer flame, patting its head with his finger before turning back to Yoongi.

“I’ll stick with this one, his sharp wings will help if I need to erase any small errors!” He beamed before turning towards the pens just down the aisle.

Yoongi stood in complete shock; he wasn’t greedy, but he knew a good deal when he saw one. Without thinking, he picked the discarded eraser from the pile and walked towards his dongsaeng’s side. Placing it on top of the pile of pens in front of the younger he crossed his arms, and waited for Taehyung to turn around. When he did so, a look of confusion on his face again, Yoongi rolled his eyes.

“What was rule number two?”

“Um…” Taehyung lifted his eyes to the ceiling of the shop as he thought about the rules Mrs Min had given him, “oh! To only spend the money on what I want!”

“Right… so, don’t you want the other eraser?”

“Well… yes, but I don’t need it, I have this one!”

Yoongi shook his head and smirked, “what was the other part of rule two?”

“Something about… ah!” He smiled as he started singing, “the bare necessities! Old Mother Nature’s recipes~”

Yoongi couldn’t help but chuckle at this, but nodded all the same, “yes exactly, Mother is covering the necessities - or needs – in your life now, so you must focus on buying things you want. Whether you need it or not isn’t part of the decision.” In saying this he held the eraser out to him, “besides, it’s only 10p, you could buy 10 of them and still have a lot left over.”

Taehyung gently took the eraser from Yoongi’s fingers, brushing them softly with his own as he brought the dragon towards him. The older boy stared at his hand
