Mrs Min giggled at the sudden shouting coming from above, as well as the running of feet (or were they falling?) down the stairs. The door burst open, and her giggling stopped as she saw the two boys coming towards her; she changed her expression to one of complete seriousness, holding her hand up to them as she waited for their shouting to quieten down.

“One at a time, please. I must say Yoongi, I never thought I’d say this, but all black suits you very well.”

“Thank you, but that isn’t going to answer my question. What do you mean ‘Taehyung, you too’ exactly?”

“I mean exactly that. Taehyung is coming home with us!”

“Huh? I thought I was choosing!”

“Honey?” his mother raised an eyebrow at the statement. “I said I’d get you a friend – you and Taehyung seem to get on so well, he must be the friend you’ve been looking for!”

The boys looked at each other, then back at Mrs Min, who was smiling like a Cheshire cat.

“I need to talk to Taehyung first, won’t be a moment!” With that, Yoongi pushed Taehyung out of the door into the corridor. What was meant to be a private conversation was currently surrounded by 17 pairs of prying ears, who soon fled when Yoongi showed his best intimidation face.

“Do you want to come home with us?”

Taehyung looked into Yoongi’s eyes, trying to find some friendliness to them; it was hard, but he saw it, just a shimmer.

“Yes…and no.”

“Huh? Why not?”

“I like it here too! I have friends here”

Yoongi squinted at the word ‘friends’ – he didn’t even have one. Yet.

“Hm, I guess that might be hard to leave behind. Here’s the thing,” Yoongi looked down at his feet, Taehyung’s searching eyes becoming too much for him to handle. “I’m not good with other kids, okay? I’ve never had a brother or sister, or a friend for that matter. I don’t even know if I have any cousins my age, we’re pretty independent as a whole.” He scratched the back of his head before continuing, “I honestly don’t know if this would work – I mean, you’re messy and I’m clean. You like the rain, and I prefer the sun, well no I prefer clouds, just without the rain falling from them.” Yoongi shook his head as he began to deter from his original point.

“Wait, why do you prefer the clouds?”

“That’s… that’s not what I’m getting at here.” Yoongi
