The woman stared. She blinked. She stared some more.

Taemin tilted his head at her curiously.

“L-Lee Taemin?” she stuttered.

Breathe. Nobody will believe she saw you anyway. Breathe.

“Please, keep your voice down,” he muttered, leaning over the counter of the near-empty coffee shop.

The aroma of coffee was thick, and various cakes were displayed lovingly around the counter, but none were tempting to Taemin.

“First Onew came in here, and-and-“ She stopped in her tracks, blushing at the mention of Jinki. “I'm sorry for-for...” She trailed off, intimidated.

“Just answer my questions,” he growled lowly, hood shielding him from the few customers that dwindled by the window seats, eyes glued on laptops or Seoul’s bustling streets. None of them seemed too distracted by the conversation he was having with the young waitress, probably under the assumption that they were friends or acquaintances.

"S-Sure,” she murmured, flattening her apron and keeping her eye on the inviting door for more customers.

Taemin understood why Jinki had chosen to relax in this coffee shop: it was bright, clean, refreshing, quiet and the waitress was cute. It suited Jinki perfectly.

"But-sorry for being so intrusive, but- aren't you-“

Taemin raised an eyebrow, shoulders strict from the morning chill he'd experienced outside.

“Aren't you in... Hiding? Like-Like nobody knows where you are, and why are you- why are you even talking to me, I-“ The girl furrowed her eyebrows, perplexed. Taemin gave her a few seconds to get her thoughts together.

“I'm sorry,” she finally managed, “it's just not every day an idol you’ve... You've seen on TV for years suddenly walks in, asking you...”

"I understand,” Taemin nodded, “but you really can't tell anyone you saw me. You really can't.”

The girl pursed her lips.

“Yes, of-of course, I won't. I won't. I won't. Anyway, those... Questions?”

Nobody will believe her anyway. Don't jump to conclusions and abandon ship yet. You've still got a lot to find out.

“What time did Jinki leave here?”

A woman actually asked for his autograph before he left, and he gave it to her and he was smiling so I doubt-“ She stopped in her tracks, noticing how Taemin inhaled deeply and his eyelashes fluttered, like an emotion had just caved in within his conscience.
