Car dealerships, car dealerships, car dealerships... Taemin sighed.
They were everywhere.
He hadn’t assumed there to be many at first – despite the growing amount of cars frequenting the busy roads, and despite his own expectations, Taemin hadn’t expected there to be quite the amount he’d found.
It seemed that the sheer amount of car sellers nearby could amass to a city in themselves, and so he’d had to try narrow his search, painstakingly. He’d manages to discount all the lowly, inch-off-the-ground business, seeing that the man with the tattoo had appeared to be rich and successful, and had instead focused on the larger dealerships, the ones selling the flashy, overpriced Mercedes’, or the rich -kid convertibles. Of those businesses there had been fewer, and within a local circumference only three stood out. The closest was about half an hour’s walk from where Taemin was – the library – and could be accessed easily by the public.
The only problem was, Taemin knew that if he did get there, it’d be near impossible to meet the manager; complaints were dealt with by underpaid staff, or fixed with simple offers and compliments. Even if he demanded to see the manager, even if he trashed the store front and vandalised the cars, he knew the manager would stay hidden behind wads of cash and petrol.
And so Taemin had to be smart. Taemin had to be inventive. Taemin had to show initiative.
A slight smile ghosted across his lips as he thought of these qualities. The only person he knew who could display all three with proficiency had been Kibum. Fashionable and creative, of course, but also extraordinarily smart, with a mind-set built for logic and sense. At times like these, it was Kibum who would find a solution. It was Kibum who would know what to do. Not Taemin. It was never Taemin.
“Ah- um- e-excuse me,” muttered a soft voice, snapping Taemin from his thoughts almost immediately. “Are you... Are you finished, because all the other computers are taken and you- you’ve been staring at the screen for about six minutes now, without blinking...”
Taemin turned to the girl and stared.
The girl squeaked, shocked.
Taemin cursed.
He lifted his bag and fled
