It took Lee Taemin a total of twenty-three years to realise he was alone.

Raised simply and into fame with his surprisingly successful audition to SM Entertainment, anyone would have assumed him to be happy – and, of course, they were given plenty of reason to believe so. The maknae of a group containing four other warm-hearted and funny members, they'd seemed to the outside world like a family. Shining SHINee, forever one.

Everything had changed so quickly.

Following the death of leader, Onew, in a fatal shooting outside Seoul, the group fell apart. Those who wanted to quit left SM in a tangled web, and those who wanted to further their contract found themselves at a dead-end: SHINee was not SHINee with only two members. Taemin knew that.

And so Taemin ran.

Driven by revenge and insanity, refusing to acknowledge the existence of his torn hyungs, it is only now that Taemin realises he is alone.
