Taeyeon was adjusting to her new environment. She could foresee herself going back to Singapore often since their business has been picking up lately. Yoona used to be her translator since the younger girl had a better command in English. But now the girl was no longer around so the company got her a new translator.

She was going to meet the lady during lunch time. Her company has arranged for them to meet. She sat comfortably at their office lounge. She flipped through the business magazines while waiting when she heard someone approaching her. She put her magazine aside and looked up. Her eyes grew larger when she realized a familiar figure coming towards her. The other woman was all smiles and Taeyeon jumped on her feet.

“YOU!”

“Hi Taeyeon.”

“YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!~”

She unleashed herself at the taller woman in front of her. She was searching for this woman for the last few years. Nobody could tell her where she went to. She ran up towards the woman and hugged her tightly.

The taller woman held on to her tightly and gently pat the back of Taeyeon’s back. She knew Taeyeon was searching for her. Yuri had been updating her.

“I’m sorry, Taeyeon.”

“What the hell did you think you were doing?! How could you disappear away from me?!”

Tears welled up in Taeyeon’s eyes. The pain she kept deep down in heart for so long had finally diffused after the surprise meeting. She was even annoyed when the taller woman explained her side of the story.

“I know you have been searching for me. Yuri has been updating me.”

“YURI?! KWON YURI?!”

“Don’t get mad at her. I requested her to keep it a secret.”

“But why are you doing this? Soo Young, why didn’t you return to Seoul?”

Yes, Summer Choi turned out to be Choi Soo Young. At first the woman didn’t realize that she had applied for a job with Taeyeon’s company. They needed a translator and Soo Young passed all the tests given during the interview. So when she was recruited that was when she found out that she would be working closely with Taeyeon. She was panicking and immediately called Yuri.

It was close to 1am in the morning (Seoul time). Yuri was sleeping with Tiffany next to her. She was exhausted after their night activity so she was naturally annoyed with the caller at the moment.

“Are you kidding me?”

“Woah, someone’s grumpy.”

“It’s 1am in the morning. I need some sleep.”

“It’s still early. Did you just have with Tiffany?”

Yuri rolled her eyes as she shifted to the opposite side. Tiffany was still sleeping soundly next to her. She looked at her mobile and realized who was on the line.

“Choi Soo Young, you better have a good reason for calling me at this hour.”

“Wow, you’re really grumpy but I’m panicking.”

“Wae?”

“Guess who I will be working?”

“Am I supposed to press the bell before answering you?”

“YA, KWON YURI. KIM TAEYEON IS MY BOSS NOW.”

Yuri finally realized the panic streak in Soo Young. Yuri actually knew but she didn’t inform Soo Young.

“YA! YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!”

“She just told me today. She said she’s going to travel to Singapore and they have a new translator for her. The name written on her file is Summer Choi. I saw your resume and I knew it was you. Your home address gave a lot of clues.”

“Shut up. So now what am I going to do?”

Yuri sighed before sat up against her bed rest. She glanced to her side to check on Tiffany. That woman was sleeping like a log. She was dead to the world.

“Listen. It has been so many years and Taeyeon has no relapse or whatsoever. I never told you much but this woman has been searching for you. Jessica and Taeyeon are just friends now. Please make your move.”

“I don’t know, Yuri. She loves Jessica a lot.”

“Yes, but Jessica still loves Yoona.”

The mention of Yoona made both ladies’ hearts hurt a little. Yuri especially could feel the pain quickly entered into her heart. She has lost her cousin forever.

“Hey, Yoona is in a good place now. Don’t worry so much. She’s probably watching over you.”

“Yeah I believe she is. But Jessica has lost her forever and she couldn’t take her back. While you, you can still find your way into Taeyeon’s heart.”

“So you’re saying I should step out from the shadow and embrace her?”

“You have waited for far too long.”

Taeyeon was shocked when Soo Young told her everything. The heart in her belonged to Soo Young’s late husband. She cupped her hands around Soo Young’s cheeks.

“Why are you doing so much for me?”

“I…I just thought you deserve more than what you think you should.”

“But I don’t deserve it.”

Soo Young shook her head.

“He wanted to help you. He couldn’t make it anymore.”

“I’m sorry, Soo Young. It must have been really hard for you.”

Taeyeon leaned in and hugged Soo Young tightly. Soo Young smiled and her heart whispered softly.

But it was really hard for me when I knew you could die without a heart.

Jessica sat on her armchair. Her mind was filled with Yoona. She thought she saw her. She wondered if that woman earlier on was indeed Yoona. She looked so similar.

But that woman is married and her name is Anna. Her husband was calling out to her earlier on. And the way the couple behaved intimately right before her eyes; Jessica couldn’t help but feeling envious.

“I must be out of my mind. Yoona is gone.”

Jessica whispered to herself. She wiped her tears away before turning back to her work. She had to re-focus herself. She pulled out the proposals on her table and started reading. Just then someone appeared at her door.

“Jung Soo Yeon.”

She looked up; Tiffany was smiling at her.

“Yes Miyoung?”

“I’m lonely.”

“What the hell are you talking about? Where’s Yuri?”

“She has some event going on at her university. She would be back home late. And your daughter has been dating her girlfriend too much.”

“So I’m your last resort.”

Jessica rolled her eyes when Tiffany gave her the sweetest eye-smiles. Tiffany has been her best friend for the longest time. So the latter was able to sense Jessica’s mood.

“Hang on.”

Tiffany stared deep into Jessica’s eyes. She leaned closer; putting her face right in front of Jessica’s. Jessica pulled back; alarmed at the closeness between them. She flicked her finger on Tiffany’s forehead.

“OW!”

“What’s with the sudden closeness? You’re almost married to Kwon Yuri.”

“You’re too beautiful. You do know how much I loved you before, right?”

“Oh god, Tiffany. Don’t make my heart flutter now. I’m fragile and vulnerable right now.”

Tiffany smirked before settling down on the sofa at the corner of Jessica’s office.

“Are you regretting for not choosing me?”

Jessica rolled her eyes again. But then she sighed loudly.

“If I chose you, we would probably be a happy family, huh?”

“Maybe. But then again, if we got together, Irene won’t be born.”

Jessica smiled at the mention of her daughter. She adores her only child.

“True. My beautiful daughter may not be here with me.”

Tiffany frowned before exclaiming again.

“YA! If we have a daughter together, she would be beautiful too!”

“I didn’t say anything. Why are you so sensitive today?”

“I’m having PMS. So don’t bother about my sudden outburst.”

“Tiffany Hwang, you’re full of rubbish. I’m finishing soon. Let’s grab some dinner.”

“I WANT MACDONALDS!”

“Yes, you 40 year old kid.”

Tiffany was sitting in front of Jessica. The two 40 year old ahjummas were having Macdonalds for dinner. But Jessica opted for chicken salad much to Tiffany’s dismay.

“YA, you’re supposed to share fats with me.”

“Tiffany, I’m 40 years old. Fats will stick to me no matter how much I exercise.”

Tiffany doubled rolled her eyes.

“You’re so skinny. And your daughter is in her 20s. What rubbish are you talking about?”

Jessica grinned and she earned a smack on her forehead. Between the two, Tiffany was curvaceous. Yuri loves her woman’s curves. But Tiffany often thought she looked fat; however the truth was; Tiffany was just plain y in her own ways.

The two best friends relived their past memories. Jessica was really grateful towards Tiffany. She stood by her side for so long and even took care of Irene when Jessica didn’t have the capacity to. The two kept chatting when suddenly Tiffany saw someone familiar from a distance.

She was biting into her burger when that familiar someone walked past her. Jessica’s back was facing that someone. But Tiffany was stunned for a second.

“What the hell.”

“What thing?”

“Nothing.”

Tiffany shook her head and diverted her attention to something else. But Tiffany was stunned and terrified at the same time.

IM YOONA, IS THAT YOU?!

 “Where’s your Mommy?”

“Which Mommy?”

Yuri was stunned for a second while Irene replied her innocently. But then she realized both women were not at home.

“Both Mommies?”

“I have no idea. I just got home.”

“Then why did you ask which Mommy?”

“Well, I don’t know. I have like …”

Irene was counting.  Then she showed 5 fingers. Yuri sniggered.

“You’re one lucky girl to have so many Mommies.”

Irene let out a small grin when her phone rang. She disappeared instantly. Yuri shook her head.

“This girl. Amazing.”

Yuri grabbed the groceries and went inside the kitchen. Shortly after, she heard the door opened and Jessica walked in casually. Tiffany followed from behind.

“You just got home?”

Jessica asked quickly.

“Yeah, I just got in.”

Yuri was watching Tiffany who behaved weirdly. She seemed like she was in deep thoughts. She nudged Jessica gently.

“What’s happening to my wife?”

Jessica looked over her shoulder and shrugged.

“She was like that since just now. She was stuttering most of her words. Maybe she saw her ex-girlfriend or something.”

“EH?!”

Jessica didn’t wait for Yuri and went up instead. She looked for her daughter; leaving Yuri bewildered.

“Mother and daughter. Same pattern.”

Yuri then turned her attention to Tiffany. The woman was still in her deep thoughts. She didn’t even realize Yuri was right in front of her. Yuri pounced on her.

“AISH!”

Tiffany almost whacked Yuri.

“Woah!”

“Sorry baby. Reflexes.”

“What’s wrong with you? Didn’t you realize I have been standing here?”

Tiffany stared at her wife and then sighed loudly. She pulled out a chair and sat down. Yuri joined her immediately; worried.

“Hey, what’s going on? Why are you sighing?”

Yuri suddenly recalled Jessica’s words about ex-girlfriend. Yuri frowned.

“Did you really saw your ex-girlfriend?”

Tiffany shifted her eyebrow upwards and smacked her wife.

“Excuse me, I only had one girlfriend which was you. Half of my youth I was waiting for Jessica, remember? So are you my ex-girlfriend now?”

Yuri felt dumb out of sudden. Jessica always had a certain hold on her.

“I should stop letting Jessica control my mind.”

She mumbled to herself. Suddenly Tiffany grabbed her hands. Yuri was stunned.

“Baby ah, I saw something that I shouldn’t.”

“What did you see?”

“I’m not sure if because I miss her so much.”

“What the …”

“Listen what I have to say. I think I saw Yoona.”

Yuri was bewildered.

“Baby, you saw Yoona? In your dreams?”

“No, I saw someone who looks exactly like Yoona. Our eyes met but she didn’t seem to recognize me.”

“Tiffany, are you serious?”

“I have never been this serious before.”

Irene kept searching for articles about the plane crash. Ever since she saw that someone who looked like Yoona, Irene was taken by surprise. Wendy almost fainted because she thought she saw a ghost. She even got her ex-lecturers to help her out.

One of her ex-lecturers called her. He had found something.

“Sir, did you have good news for me?”

“Irene ah, I have something which might be a clue. I chanced upon this wedding photo. The woman in the photo looked the same as the one you sent to me.”

“Oh?”

“I’ll be sending to you shortly.”

“Thank you Sir!”

“You’re welcome.”

Irene was hopeful. She waited before seconds later, a photo was sent to her whatsapp. Irene quickly opened it up and she almost fainted.

“Oh my god!”

That woman looked exactly like Yoona.

Jessica initially wanted to look for Irene but her daughter seemed to be on the phone. She looked serious so she decided not to disturb her daughter. She turned away and went into her bedroom instead.

She laid on the bed and her mind quickly went to that one woman she met earlier on. Her name was Anna but she looked so much like Yoona. Her mannerisms; her doe-deer eyes; her long black hair and her chiselled sharp jaw were too familiar. Jessica remembered them by hard.

Her heart started to ache as she closed her eyes. Tears quickly found her eyes. She wanted to cry but she just couldn’t anymore. She had cried so much. It was just so tiring but Jessica knew she wouldn’t stop.

She wished Yoona was right here beside her. Sometimes she could feel Yoona’s warmth because her heart was missing the woman so deeply.

“Yoona ah, I miss you so much.”

She muttered painfully.

Anna was having dinner. Toby was still sleeping in their room. The man was panicking too much and he got panic disorder attack. Anna had a hard time trying to calm him down. So when he fell asleep soundly, Anna decided to find something to eat.

She didn’t go far because she was worried for Toby. So she just went to the restaurant across the hotel. She had no idea why the restaurant was so familiar to her. She entered the restaurant with a feeling of dejavu. Somehow she felt like she was here before.

She sat at the corner of the restaurant. She was comfortable enough to sit alone. The waiter came to her and Anna comfortably ordered her food. She was surprised that she knew what to order.

Anna was confused at first. Did she come here before? She looked around the restaurant and suddenly a collage of photos caught her attention. She stood closer and then gasped.

She saw a photo of her. Or someone who looked like her.

“Wait, is this me?”

But she wasn’t alone. A woman was standing closely to her. They were so intimate.

“Who are you?”

She pondered then suddenly she felt unsure.

“Who am I?”

She was bewildered.
