Chapter 9: Chapstick and Bullied?

“ Today we will learn some adjectives and use them to describe others,” Ms. Seo, the english

teacher said. “Repeat after me.”

She stated adjectives such as ugly, fat, pretty, skinny, tall, short, and more.

“ SungYeol, say a sentence that describes yourself,” Ms. Seo said to him.

“ I am.. long,” SungYeol said. Ms. Seo and a few students started to laugh.

“ That's what he said,” someone said in the back.

“ You are tall, not long,” Ms. Seo said, “Your turn JaeHwa.”

“ I am ugly,” JaeHwa said proudly. Ms. Seo laughed.

“ Why would you say that about yourself?” Ms. Seo asked.

“ It's true,” JaeHwa responded.

“ Alright then..” Ms. Seo said, “ How about Yuki?”

“ I am.. small,” Yuki said.

“ That's what he said,” someone chuckled again.

“ Small is more of a relative term,” Ms. Seo explained, “ But it would work if you are comparing

yourself to a giant.”

“ That's just what it says on the tag of my shirt..” Yuki muttered.

“ You are ugly, u-k-l-y ugly,” someone said to JaeHwa.

“ Oh my god, you are so nice!” she replied and hugged the guy that said that to her.

Your POV

Math class..

Why does it take people over 10 minutes to answer one question?! Well I shouldn't be talking..

It took me 8 and a half minutes.. There's nothing to do now.. I look around the room and

something caught my eye.

Third Person POV

SungYeol saw someone sniffing their chap stick.

“ Can I smell that too?” SungYeol asked. The other person nodded and gave it to him. He

sniffed it and it felt like he was in Paradise.

“ Oh my god. This smells great! What's it called?” he asked the girl.

“ It's called Paradise,” she said while taking her chap stick back.

SungYeol made a mental note to himself to go buy it later.

Your POV

Want to come over to my house this weekend? -L

I read the note and looked at him, but he was busy listening to the teacher. So I decided to

write back to him.

Why? -Yuki

I threw it at him, which accidentally hit his head. I laughed.

“ What's so funny, Yuki?” Mr. Park asked. I shook my head.

“ Nothing, sir,” I said. He glared at me and then continued teaching. A piece of paper was

thrown back at me.

So we can bake! I didn't get anything for the party yet. And the rest of the guys are out that

day. -L

I looked at him and nodded. He smiled and went back to listening to the teacher.

As I came out of the bathroom stall, I saw JaeHwa and one of her little friends standing there.

“ Excuse me,” I said while trying to get through to wash my hands.

“ Excuse you,” she said, “ Being all over L and SungYeol like that. Don't you have any shame?”

“ Apparently, there is something wrong with hanging out with my friends,” I chuckled.

“ I saw you guys passing notes in class just before,” JaeHwa scoffed, “ Stay away from MY

oppas.” I couldn't help but chuckle. Who does this girl think she is? So I decided to mess with

her.

“ What if I said I liked them?” I challenged. JaeHwa's face turned red and she raised her hand

to slap me.

“ Hit me. I dare you,” I smirked. Her face still red, and she tried to slap me on my face. I was

too fast and she missed and fell forward. Then she reached out for my hair, but I was still

faster than her. She was too predictable.

After a few minutes, she gave up.

“ This is not over,” she said as she walked away as red as a tomato with her friend that had

stood there watching the whole time.

I laughed to myself and walked to the lunchroom.
