Chapter 10: Vampire? O:

#nowplaying: IU- Good Day

When I arrived at lunch, got whatever food there was and went to find MinJi. It took me a few

minutes until I found her buying chocolate cake. I tried to sneak up on her, but she already

knew I was there.. Together we walked to our usual table.

We started to eat and talk about our day. But why did it feel like someone was staring at me.. I

kept squirming around and looking behind me.

“Is there something wrong?” WooHyun asked. I shook my head and he nodded.

Then it felt like something was coming my way. Before I could catch the meatball that

someone was aiming at me, someone else already did. I looked at who caught it. It was L, that

was sitting beside me. How can someone catch something so fast? Is he what I think he is? My

eyes widened.

Third Person POV

“ Are you..?” Yuki asked with her eyes widened.

“ Say it,” L said. He knew one day he wouldn't be able to control his instincts; that he would be

exposed.

“.. a vampire?” she finished. L's eyes widened.

“ What do you think this is.. Twilight?” L chuckled. Although he was glad that he wasn't

exposed, he didn't like the fact that he was hiding something from her.

“ But you're sparkly..” Yuki responded while staring at his skin under the sunlight coming in

from the window. L looked at his skin as well. She wasn't lying.. he really was sparkly. Then he

laughed.

“ SungYeol spilled glitter all over me this morning,” L said while pointing to SungYeol that was

smiling. Yuki blinked twice and then laughed.

“ Ohhhhh. I knew that..” she said while poking her food. L chuckled and then wiped his hand

from the meatball sauce. He met eyes with SungGyu. You were lucky this time, his eyes said.

Meanwhile, JaeHwa was raging from the fact that the meatball had missed her. But what made

her more mean was that L had saved her. You will regret coming to this school, JaeHwa

thought. But of course, she didn't have the power to do that.. now did she?

…

..

That Saturday..

“ This has to be green!” Yuki shouted.

“ No! Green will make it look like poop!” L said, “ Then no one would want to eat it!”

“ I would..” Yuki said.

“ Make it red!” L said.

“ It'll look like someone bled on it!” Yuki replied.

“ Okay, so we'll just make it half green and half red. Happy?” L said. Yuki hesitated. Then she

smiled.

“ Yup!” she said and proceeded to mix the green food coloring into the cupcake batter. They

were baking cupcakes for the entire class. When they were done making their half, they put it

in the oven.

“ We forgot to get the frosting and the sprinkles!” Yuki said.

“ I'll go buy it, I'll be right back. Watch the cupcakes,” he said as he put on his coat.

“ Alright!” Yuki said. When she heard the door close, she started to wash the dishes and clean

the mess they had made. When she finished, she didn't realize she had gotten the floor yet and

slipped. Then she heard laughter. He's back already?, she asked herself. Then she looked at

the ceiling and her eyes widened.

“ What are you guys doing here?!” she asked her cousins that were hanging on the ceiling. Her

cousins Ji Ah and Kai were there. Ji Ah was 16 and Kai was 18.

“ We came to visit you! But then grandmother said you went to your friends house.. and

brought us here!” Ji Ah exclaimed.

“ Grandmother?!” Yuki screamed. She walked in through the door.

“ Did someone call me?” she said while her ice cream.

“ Why are you guys here?!” Yuki asked again.

“ It's fun climbing on ceilings..” Kai said. Then Yuki climbed up there as well.

“ You've gotten slower.. What happened?!” Ji Ah said.

“ Too much homework.. I can't practice as much anymore,” she replied.

“ Psh school.. Who needs that?” Kai asked.

“ At least I have friends,” Yuki replied.

“ HOW DARE YOU.” Kai said to her, “ I have friends. When I walk down the street, everyone

wants to be my friend, okay?”

“ Alright, alright” Yuki said.

Then they heard the door open.

“ Get out, get out!” Yuki yelled at her family members.

“ Who are you talking to?” L asked.

“ Oh um you know, just the mice,” Yuki said.

“ We have mice?” L asked.

“ I meant, the flies,” she said. He nodded. He knew there weren't flies in the winter, but nodded

before further discussion.

“ I got the frosting,” L said. Then they frosted the cupcakes when they were finished baking in

the oven.

When L went into the bathroom, Yuki found them again, but now standing on the ground.

“ I thought I told you guys to leave..” Yuki told them.

“ We were playing tag on the ceiling..” Grandmother said. Then L came out of the bathroom.

“ They just came..” Yuki explained while glaring at them.

“ Oh, no problem. I just didn't hear the door bell ring..” L said. Before Yuki could say anything,

they were interrupted by the loud commotion of more people. In came the rest of their group.

“ Yuki! You're here!” WooHyun exclaimed and wrapped his arms around her. Then when he let

go, he saw Ji Ah.

“ Who is this fine lady?” he said to Ji Ah, but when he looked at Kai, he looked a bit

discouraged. Yuki chuckled.

“ These are my cousins Ji Ah and her brother Kai,” Yuki explained, emphasizing the word

brother. WooHyun nodded and walked to Ji Ah.

“ Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?” WooHyun grinned. Kai rolled

his eyes and Ji Ah laughed.

“ Don't eat their cupcakes!” SungGyu yelled at SungJong.

“ It's okay, we made extras,” L said. SungJong smiled and took one.

“ Grandmother, you don't eat cupcakes with chopsticks..” Kai said.
