JUNE 15, 2013 — Saturday
DAY ONE HUNDRED SIX

The previous weeks were spent in a repetitive cycle especially now that our finals is just two days away – I wake up, go to class, eat during breaks, head straight to my own dorm after classes, do some schoolwork, study our lessons, rewrite my notes if I have spare time, then sleep the night away. Contradicting the past months, I rarely had time to hang out with the boys aside from Jongin since we share the same class together and same lunch break schedule during Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Because of this, we decide to have dinner together inside the cafeteria.

“So,” Baekhyun speaks once we have settled down in our seats. “What are your plans for summer?”

“I want to spend summer with you guys!” Chanyeol exclaims, his face lighting up. “Let’s go camping!”

Subin shrugs beside me, blowing her soup. “I’ll probably go back to my hometown though and perhaps, hibernate ‘til fall semester starts.”

I nod in agreement right away, chewing my beef.

Baekhyun groans exaggeratedly, gripping the strands of his hair to give emphasis on his frustration, “Come on guys. This is your first summer break! Let’s do something fun.”

“Convince us then.” I quirk an eyebrow, sipping on Sehun’s water bottle from across. Sehun instantly lets out a protested hey, but I merely ignored him. Instead, I turn to look at Baekhyun. “Something better than sleep.”

“Nothing’s better than sleep.” Jongin murmurs from the end as he slices his meat peacefully.

Subin smiles. “Exactly.”

“How about,” Baekhyun purses his lips in deep thought. “We stay over at Jongin’s hometown!”

From the side, Jongin looks surprised, almost choking on his chicken. Peering at Baekhyun, he asks with furrowed eyebrows, “Why?”

“Why not?” Baekhyun questions back, taking a bite of his blueberry muffin. “Junmyeon hyung spent his summer there right?”

“Yeah, it was fun.” Junmyeon nods his head. “Our grandma’s house and Jongin’s house were near Suncheon bay. The sunset there was beautiful.”

Chanyeol claps his hands together, announcing, “Then Suncheon it is!”

“Mark your calendars!” Baekhyun says, pulling out his phone and checking it. “Let’s go there probably August twenty-five? Yup, a week before fall semester begins!”

Jongin merely grumbles on his seat in subtle disapproval while Subin shrugs heedlessly. “Fine with me.”

“Wait,” Kyungsoo intervenes, “Why the hell are we talking about summer break? It’s finals week.”

“Why the hell are we talking about summer break?” Baekhyun mimics Kyungsoo in a mocking manner. “It’s finals-”

“Byun.”

It was just a simple sentence, but I find myself frowning and thinking deeply at Chanyeol’s reply.

Standing up from my bed, I slip on my sneakers, not minding that I did not wear it properly. I look at Subin’s side, but the has not come back yet from the convenience store.
