No feelings for the Supposedly-Straight-Boy

"I'm STRAIGHT!"

It was a few days after the dinner and Jungkook was preparing for an afternoon class when someone knocked on the door of his dorm room.

On the way there, Jungkook caught sight of the leftover medication Taehyung bought for him on the night of the dinner when they had gone home early. His headache was gone after sleeping, but he took a tablet to settle his stomach that did not take the food he ate on the night of the dinner well.

I should put in some request for a mini fridge, or something.

Jungkook thought as he slung his bag over his shoulder and walked to the door to open it for the unexpected guest.

Unexpected, alright.

Hoseok stood in the doorway holding a bag of his own, except it wasn't the bag he used for classes. It was a sports bag, which Jungkook guessed, held sports gear. Hoseok himself was wearing basketball shoes and holding a basketball under his right arm, his left holding two water bottles.

"Oh, Jungkook! Hello! Got a class starting soon, eh?" he greeted casually, already knowing Jungkook's class times.

They were close friends, anyway.

Jungkook nodded. He spoke up when he got out of the dorm room and shut it behind him.

"What's all that you got there? I don't have the time to play sports right now." he said

Hoseok grinned.

"I know, I know. I came to ask Taehyung to join me. I told him I'd teach him a thing or two." Hoseok spun the basketball on his finger and brought it under his arm again.

Jungkook frowned, "Taehyung? Well, he's not here at the moment. But he did say he was going out to the school courts-"

"He did? Oh, I'll meet him there then. Didn't know our meeting place was the the courts." Hoseok started to jog away and he waved a hand before taking down the stairs.

"Bye, Jungkook!"

Dazed, he lifted a hand slowly and waved belatedly, even though he was already gone.

Since when were they so close? Hoseok probably already replaced me with Taehyung.

Jungkook sulked and stalked his way over to the elevator. When the doors opened, he saw Jimin stepping out.

"Oh, Jungkook!" he waved a hand

Jungkook smiled at his friend, "Hi Jimin. Why are you here?"

"I came here to look for you. Want to hang out after your class? I want to check out the new game shop that just opened." Jimin said

"Okay, sure. I don't mind. What about Yoongi though?" Jungkook answered

Jimin scrunched up his nose, "He says he's too tired to go out today. But I planned to ask you to follow us two there but it seems like it may just be us."

He shrugged his shoulders. "What do you say?" he added

"Yeah, why not. If there's a new console out, let's both buy it together." Jungkook suggested and grinned back at Jimin.

"Yeah, I got no complaints about that. You got to buy the first game!" Jimin said quickly.

Jimin and Jungkook walked together to Jungkook's class talking. He waved to Jimin, promising to meet after the class.

As his class came to a close and he left the room, he saw Jimin already waiting for him outside.

"Let's go now!" he jumped up, walking over to Jungkook and dragging his arm along.

"Jimin, wait. I need to put my stuff back and grab my wallet."

As the two of them argued playfully in the elevator about whose going to buy what game, the doors to the elevator opened to reveal Taehyung and Hoseok on the other side.

Both sweaty but looking happy, Jungkook and Jimin walked out first while the other two entered.

Taehyung held the door to the elevator open so he could talk to the other two for a bit.

"Jungkook! Hi Jimin." he greeted

Jimin smiled and waved at both of them and Hoseok grinned back. "We tried out some cool skateboard tricks after basketball. You should've seen us!" he said

Taehyung looked at Hoseok and they both cracked up. "That older boy thought he could beat us!" Taehyung laughed.

"Yeah, that was crazy! Did you see what he tried to do?" Hoseok laughed with him.

"That board looked expensive too!" Taehyung answered, still holding the elevator door open.

Jungkook and Jimin listened on, confused at what they were talking about.

Taehyung turned to look at Jungkook, "Anyway, wherever you're going, I'll see you later." he waved happily.

As the elevator door closed, he could see the two chatting together and laughing.

"Well, let's go catch the train to the shop!" Jimin quickly turned and pulled Jungkook to the receptionist to inform them that they were leaving.

Jungkook stole glances at the closed elevator doors as couldn't help but feel that his roommate probably has more fun with Hoseok than he does with him. The thought brought his mood down slightly.

After being told when they had to be back, the pair rushed off to the train station on foot.

On the short walk, Jimin talked continously and Jungkook's attention was caught quickly when his friend mentioned Taehyung.

"Do you think he's really not gay or acting like he's not? Or do you think he really is gay but doesn't know it?" Jimin questioned

Jungkook shrugged.

"He surely acts like he is." Jungkook answered

"I know! But he's always saying he's straight whenever the topic arises."

Suddenly feeling somewhat drained and unmotivated to leave for the game shop, Jungkook just sighed and let his eyes wander about when Jimin started talking about other things again.

The image of Taehyung and Hoseok came to his head again. A thought entered his head upon arriving at the train station.

Maybe I should take Taehyung out somewhere this weekend. Bonding. That way he'll probably tell me more about himself.

Jungkook nodded to himself.

And that also means he won't be spending all that time with Hoseok hyung.

***

Taehyung sat down on his bed with a tired but content huff. He laid his back down on the covers but quickly rolled off the bed and onto the floor upon realising he was still sweaty and dirty from all the outdoor activity.

He moved to his side of the closet and opening it, he picked out some warm clothes.

I hope the weather gets warmer soon. Then I can go out to the ice cream parlour with Jungkook and Hoseok hyung.

After dropping off Taehyung at his dorm room, Hoseok entered the room in high spirits. He managed to spend a whole hour with the said boy and he couldn't have been happier at how things turned out.

They met at the courts and Hoseok had Taehyung learn some skills and tricks with the basketball. After a one-on-one match, Taehyung got considerably better and Hoseok can remember himself complimenting him non-stop. Clapping and applauding him whenever he managed to get the ball in the basket, saying encouraging words when he dropped the ball.

Hoseok smiled as he remembered how Taehyung tried his best to move around him to get the the basketball hoop behind him in their one-on-one match. He ended up succeeding when Hoseok decided to let him pass, smiling when Taehyung started jumping up and down happily when he got the ball in the hoop.

He let out a content sigh as he moved towards his own shower in his dorm room, remembering when he and Taehyung stopped playing basketball in the courts and left the school grounds for the skate park.

As Hoseok entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him, he let out a laugh, remembering once again when Taehyung slipped off the board and landed harmlessly on the grass that was luckily located beside the road.

Hoseok's heart began to thump a little faster and he started to feel a little lighter as he recalled how Taehyung sent him his special box smile full of joy as he watched Hoseok complete a full turn with his borrowed skateboard.

Jungkook rushed back to the school building with Jimin, both racing to get to Jungkook's dorm room.

They pushed and shoved each other as they clambered up the stairs as the elevator was taking too long. The receptionist barely had any time to see the faces of the two boys as they rushed past, only managing to see enough to know who they were.

She sighed as she marked their names off from her computer to show that they were back on the school grounds.

What's the hurry?

She thought as she went back to sorting paperwork.

But there was a big hurry for the two boys, because as soon as they got back to Jungkook's dorm room, Jimin had to fight for the newly bought console in Jungkook's hand.

If Jungkook got there quicker than he did, then the console would be set up in his dorm room and Jimin wanted the console in his dorm room. Jungkook dug his hand into his jacket pocket on the way up the last flight of stairs and pulled out the key to unlock the door.

When the two boys reached the dorm room, Jungkook jammed the key in the lock and Jimin wrestled for the console in Jungkook's hand while he banged rapidly on the door.

Jungkook turned his back on Jimin and did his best to hold the console out of his reach, all the while turning the lock.

What they didn't know was that Taehyung was on the other side of the door, hearing the rapid banging and he quickly rushed up and opened the door. Jungkook also turned the door at the same time and when Taehyung pulled the door open, Jungkook pushed the door open from his side with such force that Jungkook's body slammed against Taehyung's.

Jungkook shoved his way in as soon as he got the door open but he did not expect a second body to be right in front of him. Not having enough time to stop, his body rushed right into the person in front of him and both of them fell to the floor.

Jimin, right next to Jungkook with his arms reached across the said boy's body, fell sideways on top of the human pile a second later.

Taehyung grunted and tried to free himself from underneath the two bodies.

Jungkook's eyes widened upon realising who it was and hurriedly pushed Jimin off on top of him, scrambling to his feet. Slightly dazed, he felt Jimin pull at the bag in his hand and he snapped out of it. He pulled the bag to his chest and crawled over Taehyung and the now scattered shoes, entering the dorm room in a hurried and messy manner.

"I'm first! The console will be in here!" Jungkook shouted

"That was so not fair! Taehyung was right at the doorway-TAEHYUNG!" Jimin stopped short as he realised what had happened.

The two boys spun around to see Taehyung picking himself off the floor where the shoes were. The shoes were everywhere around him and he pushed himself against the shoe cabinet.

"Ugh, I thought we placed all the shoes inside the cabinet-" Taehyung didn't get to finish as Jungkook rushed to his side, dropping to his knees and pulling Taehyung up by the elbow.

"Taehyung! Are you okay? I'm so sorry!" Jungkook helped Taehyung to his bed and proceeded to stretch his arms. They were basically flattened against the flooring.

"Taehyung, Taehyung, Taehyung! Are you hurt?" Jimin joined in the fuss. He looked the the said boy over once and his gaze landed on Taehyung's face.

He sighed as he looked at the two boys.

"Nothing's broken." he shrugged.

But then he suddenly yelled and the two flinched violently with shock.

"Why the heck were you two stampeding in here, trampling over me like that?! What are you, savages?!"

Jungkook hurried to soothe the other, holding out his hands and bringing them down in a way to tell the other to calm down

"Hyung, we're sorry. We were just racing in here for an important reason." Jungkook said

Jimin nodded, "A very important reason." he added

Taehyung huffed and crossed his arms across his chest. "And what might that be?"

Jungkook reached for the plastic bag which contained the brand new console. He smiled at Taehyung who looked at it, wondering what was inside.

"Look, hyung! Jimin and I bought a new console at the game store that just opened up somewhere in the city!" he said, clearly excited

There was a pause.

"Yeah, and?" Taehyung questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Jungkook cleared his throat and said, "Well, we raced over here and if I got here first the console will be set up here. If Jimin beat me then it'll be set up in his room. But look! I got here first so we can play whenever we want!" he said, looking pretty happy with himself.

Jimin mumbled something about the whole thing being 'so unfair' and Jungkook ignored him.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung's expression and his smile slowly faded. Turning sheepish, he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

Taehyung looked the picture of unimpressed and Jungkook didn't exactly know what he should say or do anymore.

"That's great but my face did not need to be kneed and stamped on by the two of you." Taehyung responded, pointing to his red forehead and cut cheek which started to bleed only then.

"Oh my gosh, you're bleeding! That was not my foot, Jimin has spiked shoes and yeah, it was probably me that kneed you but- right! First aid kit, first aid kit!" he flailed his arms in the air uselessly and began to scramble around the room, looking for the first aid kit he was so desperate to find.

Taehyung just rolled his eyes, "It's not that bad. Stop flipping out on me."

Jimin walked over to Jungkook's desk calmly and pulled out the first aid kit that was sitting in between the end of Jungkook's bed frame and his desk.

"Jungkook, I've got it. It's not there." Jimin said, watching as Jungkook searched the drawer beneath the closet.

Spinning around, he calmed down at the sight of Taehyung's cheek that was not bleeding anymore, due to the tissue pressed against the wound.

Jiming pushed Jungkook onto his own bed and made sure he stayed put. After he tended to Taehyung's minor injury, he apologised and the three of them started to set up the new console.

"I'm forgiven, right?" Jimin said

Taehyung nodded, "Yeah." he said simply

Jungkook looked up from the wire he was attaching to the to end of the console.

"What about me? Am I forgiven?" he asked hopefully.

Taehyung raised his head and looked Jungkook in the eye with his own, staring holes into his head. Jungkook started fidgeting and Taehyung's eyes brightened as he started laughing.

"Yeah, yeah. Actually, we'll see about that, roommate." he winked playfully in his direction and set out attaching wires to the small television in front of the bathroom.

Jungkook flushed unwillingly, focusing his gaze down as he felt his face heat up.

Luckily, they had a small corner they could use that just fit the small television they intended to use for the console. Hooking up wires here and there, everything was up and running within forty minutes.

It was already evening, but Jimin stayed and battled with Jungkook in the new game they both ended up buying together. Too engrossed in the game, they didn't realise when Taehyung answered a call and walked outside.

"Hoseok hyung! Well, nice to see you again this evening." Taehyung said, walking out into the corridor when he shut the door to his dorm room.

"Hi, Strawberry. It's pretty cold out, but I wanted to know if you'd just like to walk with me. I don't feel all that tired from this afternoon." he said, pulling his thick jacket warmly around himself.

"Oh, that's fine. Let's go for a walk. Jungkook and Jimin are too busy playing on the new console they bought and I don't have much to do anyway." Taehyung said, though he himself did feel tired from earlier on.

Hoseok only nodded, a gentle smile spreading on his lips as he and Taehyung walked to the elevator.

"Where do you plan on walking?" Taehyun questioned, shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans.

"Well, not sure actually. I usually like to go out on evening walks whenever I have time or if I feel the need of some stress relief. The school has pretty nice gardens, you know." Hoseok answered him as they both exited the elevator and walked out the back, entering the lush green grass of one of the school gardens.

"You usually go alone or..." Taehyung trailed off, indicating for an answer from the other boy.

"Yeah. But I like spending time with you, so that's why I called." he confessed.

Night settled in, the sun already disappeared for the day earlier on and allowing for the moon to shine with the stars. It was a pretty bright night, the almost-full moon illuminating their way.

Hoseok stole glances at Taehyung walking next to him, noting how his eyes sparkled with the stars reflecting in them. Hoseok almost forgot how to breathe when Taehyung caught his gaze and sent him a smile.

The two boys settled themselves in the middle of one of the school's bigger gardens, laying their back down on the grass and looking up at the sky.

The night was cold and all Taehyung brought out was a thin gray cardigan over his white t-shirt. He shivered, feeling cold. But warming up ever so slightly when he realised that this was Jungkook's cardigan he had borrowed on the night of the festival a few weeks back.

It was washed, thankfully. Jungkook made sure of that. Even sending it for a wash twice to make sure it was absolutely blood and dirt-free.

He almost laughed at the memory and suddenly his mind was just filled with memories of the night he spent with Jungkook under the sky on the night of the festival.

His thoughts were interrupted though, when Hoseok called out to him.

"Taehyung, you're shivering."

Taehyung turned his head and indeed, he was. Suddenly feeling colder than before, he wrapped his arms around himself and sent a smile in Hoseok's direction.

"I'll be fine." he said, trying to return back to the memory that kept him warm.

Hoseok frowned and instead, shrugged off his own jacket, offering it to the other boy.

Taehyung looked at him in surprise, shaking his head. "No. It's cold, hyung. You have it. I've got this on," he pulled at his cardigan, "and you've only got that on under that jacket." he proceeded to point at the black tank top the other was wearing.

"I'm not cold. I'll be fine." Hoseok insisted. But really he was lying and he felt like he was going to freeze in five minutes.

He wasn't cold with the fleece jacket, but seeing Taehyung shivering really got him to just move on his own.

"Hyung, really. If you're not cold now, you'll be cold later." Taehyung said, refusing the offer.

I am cold now. And I'll be cold later so just take the damn thing.

Hoseok thought to himself.

Taehyung didn't move and so Hoseok pulled him into a sitting position and swung the black jacket over his shoulders and zipped it up. It looked huge on Taehyung, the ends of the jacket reaching Taehyung's thigh mid-way and the sleeves too long, the shoulders drooping down.

Hoseok simply smiled at the cute sight of Taehyung's blinking eyes and too-long sleeves.

He lay down again and closed his eyes. "Let's rest for a while before going back."

Taehyung paused, warmed by the jacket from Hoseok as well as from his act of kindness.

"Thanks, hyung. If you're cold, just ask for it back." he said, closing his own eyes.

Hoseok simply hummed, and even though he was cold, he knew he was not going to be asking for it back.

***

After about an hour later, Hoseok opened his eyes, awoken by the cold.

It was really getting to him now and after falling asleep for an hour, he woke up shivering. His body unable to rest any longer in the cold weather.

He looked to his side and saw Taehyung sleeping peacefully under the blanket of stars. The moonlight made his face glow and Hoseok took a moment to stare.

Again, his heart started thumping faster and his heart proceeded to leap around in his chest.

The thought of spending time with Taehyung made him smile and he swiftly but carefully lifted Taehyung into his arms. The still sleeping Taehyung didn't move as Hoseok walked back inside the school building, trying to stop his shivering.

He entered the elevator and when he was inside, he glanced at Taehyung. His head rolled to the side, facing Hoseok's body and he could feel the heat coming from him.

He held him closer, trying to warm himself up and when he arrived on the floor of Taehyung's dorm room, he walked softly across the corridor.

He knocked gently with his feet, Taehyung occupying both his arms and Hoseok heard something rushing to the door. It sounded like a book had dropped from it's place and soon the doorknob was shaking as the other person behind the door hurried to open it.

The door swung open to reveal a worried looking Jungkook with disheveled hair.

"Taehyu-Hoseok!" he exclaimed, surprised.

"Shh. He's sleeping." Jungkook's eyes widened upon seeing a sleeping Taehyung in Hoseok's hold.

Feeling his stomach drop to his feet, he moved out of the way slowly to let the two enter.

Taehyung was laid gently on his bed and Hoseok pulled the covers up to his chin.

Just as he was about to leave, Jungkook grasped his arm.

"Hoseok hyung, where did you guys go? It's 11:40pm!" Jungkook not-so-quietly whispered.

"Strawber-I mean Taehyung and I went out for a walk in the garden for a bit." he answered

"A bit?" he repeated. "Considering the time now, that is not just a bit." he frowned.

Hoseok smiled apologetically. "Sorry. We walked around the gardens for about an hour and a half. Then we rested and fell asleep for another hour."

Jungkook continued to stare at Hoseok, calculating the time when Taehyung and Hoseok left for their not-so-short walk.

Jungkook then noted Hoseok's clothes. "Aren't you cold? Go back to your own dorm room!" Jungkook hurried Hoseok out of the room.

"Yeah, Taehyung looked cold so I gave him my jacket." Hoseok said, leaving the dorm room.

"Well, you better go back. If not you're going to catch a cold." Jungkook said, "Goodnight, hyung."

Hoseok nodded and the door closed behind him.

As soon as he heard the click of the lock he ran at full speed to the stairs, running one floor up to his own dorm room.

Teeth chattering and body shivering, Hoseok decided to leave the elevator and run up the stairs to get blood circulation in his legs. And plus, it was late at night and most were sleeping, the corridor was dark and Hoseok shuddered.

I need to stop the horror films. Really, I am literally going to be human ice if I don't get warm in two minutes.

Jungkook, on the other hand, couldn't get rid of an uncomfortable feeling refusing to leave his body. He was taken aback by Taehyung and Hoseok's sudden appearance.

He was worried when he realised that Taehyung was gone an hour and a half later when Jimin left. He went out to search for him but returned fifteen minutes later when it started to get dark.

He can come back by himself

He thought. But as an hour crept by he started to feel a bit scared that Taehyung had lost his way or something. Which was unlikely since he had now been here for a while and knew the school layout quite well.

But he was back now and Jungkook walked to the side of Taehyung's bed and brushed a few strands of hair out of his face. Jungkook's fingers lingered on Taehyung's face for a few seconds before he pulled away.

"Why were you outside with Hoseok..." Jungkook muttered.

He didn't know why he was so bothered. It didn't bother him that much, but Jungkook still wondered.

The thought that he was slowly developing a crush on his roommate crossed his mind. But then he remembered what Taehyung had said before and now.

I'm straight.

Even though Jungkook was really skeptical about those words, he shook the thought out of his head.

Nah, I can't have feelings for the supposedly-straight boy. After all, aren't there heteros who behave like homos?

Jungkook sighed and returned to his own bed, slipping underneath the covers and warming himself up. He was glad that his classes didn't start until late morning at the earliest.

Closing his eyes, he quickly fell asleep, the thought of spending the upcoming weekend with Taehyung briefly crossing his mind.
