SEOHYUN’S POV

            It has been a year since Amber left me. It has been a year since my heart died. I don’t know what I should feel. I don’t hate her. But I still don’t  understand her. Why did she give up that easily? I know she did this for me. But doesn’t she know that it hurt me so much knowing that it’s easy for her to let me go? I thought her love for me is strong enough to stand any obstacles in our life. Then why did this happen?

            For the past months, I was like a walking zombie, living outside but dead inside. My parents were very glad when they learned what Amber did. When Yonghwa Oppa found it out, he  continued courting me. My parents persuaded me to him. At first, I didn’t give it significance. My heart still belongs to Amber. But that guy is very persistent. I finally gave in after six months thinking that maybe he could heal my broken heart.

            “Joohyun?” I saw my father peaked at the door.

            “Yes Appa?”

            “Can I talk to you?”

            “Sure Appa, come in.”

            My father went inside my room. He sat on my bed and held my hand.

            “Joohyun, first, I want to thank you for being a good daughter to us. Thank you for choosing us, your parents. You didn’t know how much it means to us.” He smiled at me. I didn’t know what to say. Honestly, I never choose anyone. I didn’t want to choose at that time. Amber is the one that gave me a choice.

            “Always remember that whatever happens, we are here for you. Your Umma and I, we will support you in anything that you do.” I didn’t understand why my father is telling me this. Then I saw a tear fell from his eyes.

            “Why are telling me those things Appa?”

            “Nothing. By the way, fix yourself. Your boyfriend is here. He is waiting outside.”

            “Huh? Why is he here? He didn’t tell me that he is coming.”
