Déjà Vu
i quickly ran up to her and pushed both of us to the side of the road. I fell right on top of her. I quickly pull myself up and shook her.
"si yoon!" I realized I pushed her too hard that her hands were all scraped by the ground and blessing profusely.
"w-why did you save me..." she stuttered.
I hugged her. "I don't want you to leave this dimension. you left the dimension where you were because you took your life, and you're here because you had a second chance"
si yoon's pov
I pulled away. "you didn't tell me... you were dating taeyeon. you should have told me..." I said.
then I wouldnt have told him about anything. about us.
"the company wanted us to be together. taeyeon liked me for a long time. I thought I could give her a chance. and also to do a deed sm asked me to." he replied.
I wonder how many girlfriends he had before taeyeon. this baekhyun doesn't look like someone who deals with relationship seriously.
"do... you really love her?" I asked in curiosity without thinking.
he couldn't respond.
"I can't trust you." I said as I stood up and walked away.
"let me bring you to the hospital!"
"no. it's nothing serious. let's... not meet ever again" I said.
my hands were stinging so badly and I walked to the nearest bus stop to a hospital.
it wasn't the peak hours, so there were not much bus. nor taxi.
a car stopped right in front of me. the windows lowered and I saw baekhyun.
"isn't that baekhyun?" a school girl whispered to her friends.
"who is she?" another girl asked as they looked at me.
"please. let me bring you to the hospital" baekhyun said, despite the fans around.
people were taking out their phone and taking pictures of us.
I quickly walked to the car and got in quickly as baekhyun drove off immediately.
baekhyun kept talking to me, reassuring me we'll be there and how near the hospital is. I kept quiet and laid on the seat back.
we reached to hospital soon as baekhyun parked at the side. he alighted and came to my side as he opened the door.
I nodded as I brought myself to seat up straight and stand. I couldn't. I felt too exhausted.
baekhyun noticed and he quickly carried my bridal style and ran into the emergency room.
"she's losing a lot of blood and she look really pale" baekhyun said as he put me down onto the bed as the doctor attend to me.
baekhyun stood there... please don't leave me...
"I'll never leave you" baekhyun said to me. I'm sure I didn't said that out loud.
once they cleaned my wounds, I had to stay for a night. my parents were contacted and they were on the way.
"thank you" I said to baekhyun, as soon as we were left alone.
baekhyun smiled and he pat my head.
"si yoon-ah!" I heard my mum cried out as soon as she entered the room.
she ran up to me as she hug me. my dad soon came along.
"are you okay?" she asked worriedly.
"yes mum. just that I got scraped on my arms. nothing serious. just stinging a little" I said.
"and who is this?" my dad asked.
baekhyun looked up.
"hi, i am baekhyun" he bowed.
"baekhyun?!" my mum said.
"yes. we were having a date when she left and almost got herself into a car accident. I pushed her and got her hands scraped. I brought her to the hospital soon after" he said. a date?!
"what- date?!" my mum exclaimed.
"yes. I knew her long time ago." he said. did he did all these... to show my parents that I am not mental?
"o-oh. but, are you alright? I am so sorry!" my mum apologized.
"I am. thank you for asking. you guys can go back to rest. I can take care of her for you. it's my fault that causes her hands to be like this."
"is it not troublesome for you?" my mum asked.
"nah uh. it's my duty." he said and my mum smiled. "we'll leave then. we'll come back tomorrow morning." my mum said as she poke my dad to leave.
"your mum sure loves me" baekhyun said as soon as they left.
"of course. she's like... a fan of you here. in my dimension, she really loves you a lot."
"ah, no wonder" he said.
i heard a phone ringing. "is that your phone? you better answer it, I've been hearing that since you drove me to the hospital."
baekhyun's pov
I nodded. "excuse me then," I said. I walked out of the room and went around along the walkway.
taeyeon. as soon as I click answer, taeyeon has already hung up. I realized there were 24 missed calls and 16 text messages.
the text were mostly:
"where are you?"
"why did you leave so abruptly?"
"are you okay?"
"are you alright?"
"did you went after si yoon?"
"did you two know each other?"
"is si yoon alright?"
"you're making me worried"
"answer me please!"
taeyeon called again and I answered.
"hello,"
"baekhyun! why are you not answering my calls and texts? do you know how worried am I?"
"I'm... not in the mood. I'll call you tomorrow"
"did you ran after si yoon? because you ran right after she left"
"no I didn't. I don't know her."
"then are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm hanging up" I said as I hung up.
why was I so annoyed with taeyeon, when she did nothing wrong?
I walked back to si yoon.
si yoon's pov
"was it... taeyeon? you better go back to her. she must be worried." I said.
"don't worry. it's my mum." he said.
"taeyeon's... really shy. she's weak... don't make her sad because she'll get really emotional" I said.
"talk about yourself first, si yoon" baekhyun replied nonchalantly.
i couldn't help but laugh. baekhyun looked at me weirdly.
"what?" I said in between laughters.
"it's... my first time seeing you smile." he said.
"so? I look weird then?" I said.
"maybe" baekhyun replied jokingly.
I was served dinner when baekhyun insist to feed me. I let him easily, since he was being so annoying. as soon as he feed me the first bite, I was remind by the old times. baekhyun and I used to feed each other all the time.
"does he feed you like this everytime?" baekhyun interrupted me.
I couldn't help but to nod. why is baekhyun.. trying to be like my boyfriend? what was he trying to do?
"thank you" I said again politely.
"you need to stop being so thankful for me. we're friends after all" baekhyun said.
we're friends. since when this cold arrogant baekhyun became my friend?
"when... are you going to leave?" I asked.
"I said I'm staying, didn't i?" he replied.
"then where are you sleeping?" I asked.
"I don't need to sleep. I usually don't sleep" baekhyun said creepily.
"I hope you're joking with me" I said as I rolled the other side and close my eyes.
the next morning, I woke up, seeing baekhyun's head resting on the side of my bed.
I realized. the more I knew baekhyun, the more the two baekhyuns becomes more similar to each other. the difference was, this baekhyun was way more conceited and fashionable, while the baekhyun I knew was more casual and comfortable in style and more caring for others.
and then it hit me. I was taeyeon's best friend. her boyfriend was baekhyun.
it was like i was given a choice. whether to be still friends with taeyeon. or become baekhyun's girlfriend. I couldn't have both.
this baekhyun was still different. he do know about my life... my boyfriend... but no matter how, he's never the baekhyun I knew.
I couldn't resist both to bring my hands towards his head and ruffle his hair gently. I brought my hands lower to his shoulders and caress it.
he shifted as I quickly pull my hands back to myself and acted like I was sleeping.
he opened his eyes and I heard him saying, "how did I end up sleeping?"
he pulled himself up and he patted my back.
"get well soon and come back. I need you" he said. "I'm sorry I have to go... because we have a schedule today. I'll be back later in the afternoon" he said before I could hear him shuffling away.
that afternoon, baekhyun didn't came when I was discharged.
I didn't contact baekhyun nor went back to sm. taeyeon's my best friend. I can't.... break ties with her again... the second time.
when I reach home, the biggest news came out.
"baekhyun and taeyeon are dating. confirmed by sm"
