She opened her eyes and saw a bright light above her. She slowly sat herself up and looked around. A machine next to her was keeping track of her heart beat and a thin pole with a clear liquid in a bag hung at the top while a wire connected the tip on one end and the other end was injected into her wrist. The curtain opened, and Hongki walked in with a cup of water in his hand. He smiled, with his gorgeous eyes and revealed his cute white teeth. “You’re up!” He sighed with a relief. He handed the cup over to her and adjusted her pillow and bed. She looked at him. “Hongki oppa.” She was shocked to see him but couldn’t control her pain. She started tearing up again. Hongki stretched out his arms and held her. She weeped again in his arms, but it was a silent weep. She cried long and hard for countless hours, her body had no more fluid to let out. Hongki let go of his grip and turned to face her. “I know what happened, and I’m going to take care of you for now on, don’t worry everything will be fine.” She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and gulped down the water. Hongki brushed her bangs with his hand, and his index finger against her face and smirked a little, hoping she would cheer up a little bit. She felt his comfort and warmth but wasn’t ready to accept it. She looked at him with watery eyes.

The doctor walked in, “I got your tests back and it came out perfectly fine, you just need to eat more and rest. So you guys are free to go.” Hongki stood up and held his hand in front of her. She was shy, and embarrassed that this was her first impression after reuniting again. She accepted his help and got up. She walked with him towards the elevator with her arms linking on his. She was tired and couldn’t help but let her head fall on his shoulder. Hongki looked at her, and frowned. Thinking of how much she went through in her life, and knowing her parent’s relationship stayed the same all this time, had his heart tearing like a flower’s petal falling one by one. He unlinked his arms with her and put his hand around her small waist, making it easier for him to support her weak body. “Let’s go eat first, Jaejin and Jonghoon already cooked dinner.” She nodded, while her empty stomach growled. Hongki put his other hand on her tummy and looked at it, “don’t worry we’ll be home soon.” He said in his Jeremy character (from you’re beautiful drama). He looked up at her, hoping she would smile. Of course she didn’t, but Hongki couldn’t blame her, after what she had been through. They got out of the elevator and walked towards the car.

They arrived home, opened the door and welcomed her inside. All the members came dashing towards her and gave her a welcoming hug. Her eyes widened in shock and just stood there like a mannequin. The members stepped back and bowed at the same time. They all introduced themselves one by one, and each gave a warm welcoming smile. Jaejin grabbed her hands and walked her towards the dinner table. He sat her down in one of the chairs. The table was filled with Korean dishes, such as tofu, kimichi stew; stir fried vegetables, bulgogi, rice, and pork. Each member took their seats and she sat between Hongki and Jaejin. They all started digging in, and Hongki looked up at her; “don’t be shy!” he grabbed her hand and put a pair of chopsticks in between her finger and thumb. She only ate the vegetables and rice. Although she didn’t eat much she got very full within the first 4 bites. She didn’t have the appetite to eat much, but only ate out of courtesy. “Jwesonghamnida (sorry),” she looked up at the members. “Don’t worry we understand.” Minhwan replied. Hongki asked, “here why don’t you try some pork.” Before Hongki was able to grab a piece, she refused; “I’m a vegetarian.” “Crap, why didn’t you tell us Hongki!?” Jaejin argued. “What? Well I didn’t know!” he argued back. “I’m really sorry, I always cause trouble to everyone.” She started crying and she headed towards the door. She opened it and ran off.

Hongki panicked and ran behind her. “YAH! (usually Koreans make this shout term when they are angry)” He hollered at her. He bolted towards her and managed to catch up. He grabbed her hand and accidently yanked her backwards too harshly. Her back fell against his chest, and Hongki let his arm wrap around her tiny waist while his chin laid on her hair. He tried to catch his breath, “you don’t have to run away from problems, I’m here for you, and so is FT Island. Please don’t let your weak side get the best of you.” He whispered in her ear, trying his best to avoid the pain in his voice. She cupped her face with her palms and apologized again. “Babo, don’t apologize, you didn’t do anything wrong, but just don’t scare us like that again. We’re going to stay by your side, and we’re not going to let you cry by yourself again.” He let go of the hug and she freed herself from him and they walked home. Hongki took off his sweater and wrapped it around her cold body. He grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to his side and put his arm around her shoulder to transfer his warmth to her. She put her hand on his stomach and had her head near his chest. It’s been a long time since he had skin ship with a girl, so Hongki couldn’t help but blush and smile.

Eunjung P.O.V

I can’t stop worrying over the loss of my parents. I know I should really rest and eat but the stress makes me lose my appetite and I would rather stay up crying then sleeping.

Oppa was always very brotherly towards me, and I’m very thankful he is here to help me in this situation. FT Island boys are really pretty, and caring. I’m glad to have met them. I feel like I don’t deserve all of this, but I don’t want to hurt Hongki again. After hearing his trembling voice I felt like I have done something wrong to him. I put my hand onto his waist and sunk my head between his shoulder and chest, to signal him I was sorry. I wanted to cry again, but I didn’t want him to notice, so I just walked quietly back to the dorm.

Hongki’s P.O.V

Her hand crawled up my stomach and her head leaned on to my chest. My heart paced a little faster out of surprise. I was only startled by her touch but I thought to myself, she probably heard my heartbeat quicken, which made it beat even faster. I didn’t want her to think of the wrong idea, but just thinking of this only made my heart beat grew. I don’t know why but having her close to my side made me blush. I guess it’s been a while since I had skin ship with the opposite that it made me a little nervous. Usually I don’t feel this way towards someone who was younger than me. I guess it’s because I probably feel like I turned into a father, caring for his daughter, although we only had 2 and a half year .

Narrator P.O.V

They arrived back at the dorm safely and Eunjung walked towards the member and bowed while she apologized. Minhwan ran towards her and hugged her; “It’s okay!! Don’t worry! Just never run away again, instead run into my arms and I’ll protect you<3” He smiled and patted her back. She looked up and saw Jaejin smiling; “gwetchana?” she nodded. Jaejin held her hand and lead her to the washroom; he grabbed a fresh towel and ran it through some warm water and squeezed the water out. He laid it flat on his palm and started wiping her face. He the tap again and rinsed the towel. “Do you feel better?” He asked. she nodded. “Thank you.”

“I need to go and get her stuff from her home, does anyone want to come and help?” Hongki asked the members. “I’ll come,” Seunghyun said. Hongki walked towards Eunjung, “we need to help you pack some things from your home so we can bring it here.” Eunjung shook her head and said, “Its okay I’ll just stay home.” “No! You’re a young girl, you can’t stay home alone.” Hongki refused. “But I’ve been living that kind of lifestyle my whole life,” she debated. Hongki saddened a bit and still refused; “I don’t care, it’s going to be different for now own. We, FT Island are going to look after you and make sure you have a real family for once.” Hongki held out his hand in front of her. While everyone stared, she looked up at him. Before she even lifted her hand; Hongki tugged her forward and hugged her. The members walked over and all gave her a hug.

The 3 of them walked into the car; Hongki was in the driver’s seat while the rest of the 2 sat at the back. Seunghyun conversed with Eunjung, trying to get a better understanding of her character profile. Since it was late there wasn’t much traffic so they reached their destination within 10 minutes.

“Oh right, next time don’t forget to lock the door! Especially when you live in a such a nice house! If you leave the door unlocked in FT Islands dorm, a lot of trouble can happen.” Hongki reminded her. “I left it unlocked today because Suzy told me to.” Replied Eunjung. “Suzy is a babo! Don’t listen to her. Leaving the door unlocked would be dangerous!” Hongki reminded her once again.

They entered inside the house and the lights. “WOAH” Seunghyun’s jaw dropped. He ran down the hallway and explored the whole house. “OH MY GOD. This is incredible! Hyung I want to live in this house!” “Yah! That’s impolite running around someone’s home without permission!” Hongki stated hypocritically. Eunjung walked up towards her bedroom while Hongki followed up behind her. Seunghyun still ran around exploring the mansion, and was lost in the maze. Eunjung opened her drawers and grabbed her suitcase. She stuffed her clothes in her suitcase, her toothbrush, accessories and hair irons as well. She grabbed her teddy bear and being a gentlemen, Hongki took her suitcase and headed downstairs. “Oh! Is that the bear I gave you when you were 5 years old?” Hongki asked. She nodded and hugged it tightly. He smiled while he had flashbacks of their childhood together. He chuckled and rubbed her hair with his hand, making her hair a mess. She looked up at him with puppy eyes, as he looked back at her and smirked.

Seunghyun returned and apologized. He grabbed the bags of her belongings and they all left the building and put the stuff in the trunk of the car and drove off home. They entered their dorm and set her stuff inside Hongki’s room. Hongki had his own room since he was the oldest hyung in the band, but now he is willing to give it up to her. She was a girl so he obviously didn’t want her to share a bed with the guys. He prepared his bed but didn’t have the time to wash the blankets since it was already really late. He put her suitcase on the ground, while she was washing up and getting ready for bed.

She tied her hair back sand undressed herself, and then entered the shower. Out of habit she left a small gap of her door opened, but luckily everyone was already asleep and Hongki was too busy cleaning everything up that no one noticed. She slid into her domo pj’s and brushed her teeth. She was finished with the washroom and entered Hongki’s room while holding her teddy bear closed to her chest. He noticed her entrance and looked up at her happily; “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to change the sheets today, it’s really late so I can’t wash them now.” "It’s okay I like Hongki oppa’s scent anyways,” she said putting him at ease.

Eunjung P.O.V

“Where are you going to sleep though?” I walked closer to him. “On the couch,” he replied. “Andrai!(no)” I refused. “It’s already enough for me to live in FT Island’s dorm, accept love and care from 5 members, and now taking over your bed!? Andrai, I’m not accepting.” “It’s alright I fall asleep fine in any condition.” He replied, as he headed towards the door. I grabbed his hand, and he turned around. “Chebal (please)” I begged, looking up at him. “We’ve shared the same bed when we were young, it’s not like it’s a new thing. Would it make you feel uncomfortable?” I frowned.

Hongki’s P.O.V

Her puppy eyes made my heart weaken. How can I reject? It’s true that we have shared the same bed, but that was when we were 6... It’s not that I didn’t want to share the same bed with her but its different since we’re much older now. If she didn’t mind then I guess there was no harm. I sighed and cupped her face. “Okay only because it’s really late and I’m too lazy to set up the couch.” I told her. She smiled with a sigh of relief after winning the debate. Although I could sense her smile wasn’t genuine, I was happy to see her trying to show a new emotion. I walked out of the room to use the washroom to wash up. After I was done I found her already asleep, cuddling with the teddy bear I had given her when we were young. She was too cute; I couldn’t resist the urge to hug her. I laid next to her and wrapped one arm over her waist and whispered goodnight. I turned to the other side and slept through the night peacefully.
