Drabble 7 // Cliché (141006 - this has been edited)

It’s not a cliché, it’s just my life. It’s just our love.

I never expected our love to be like a cliché.

I remember all the days we’d play the marriage game as kids; you were always dressed in female hanbok and I was dressed in male hanbok. We’d walk down the line in the small backyard that was big enough for two of us, and then I’d throw the bouquet of dirt covered flowers up just because you enjoyed catching it.

Then when we were older, all the times I played mannequin just because I loved having you touch me. Even if all you ever did was fix up my shirt, my tie or my hair; the distance of your beautiful eyes and graceful lashes continued to take my breath away when they fluttered. They made me gulp every time, and yet I risked you seeing my red cheeks again and again just because I can’t resist having you so close.

And the first time we held hands while enjoying the city view as young adults. Tingles zapped through me in all directions when I felt your fingers sliding back to intertwine themselves with mine so smoothly. The softness was just like the softness of your face, both mesmerising and loveable. Everything felt so natural.

And that was the moment we finally accepted our cliché relationship.
