Drabble 15 // When we're together. 

     "Hurry, hurry!" Jimin squeaks frantically as quietly as he can, though his arms are motioning Taehyung over wildly. The taller, only by about two cm, rushes over, takes Jimin's tiny hand in his own and they start running towards the big bedroom where eighteen other orphan children are sleeping soundly. Taehyung struggles with the slippery door knob for a moment before they slip in and he lets go of Jimin's hand as they separate to their beds opposite each other. 

Footsteps of the intimidating, scary, horrible lady that 'looks after them' can be heard descending the stairs and all children in the bedrooms are lying still and fake snoring even if they're not asleep because being caught awake means punishment. Taehyung drags his blankets on top of himself roughly when he sees Jimin across the room, still struggling to hop onto his bed. Taehyung wanted to slap himself for forgetting that Jimin always had trouble climbing onto the mattress, and he regretted not listening to his hyung when the other begged him to leave their small sneak out earlier. 

The tapping of high heels down the hallway becomes louder and Taehyung feels panic rise in him as he watches Jimin's efforts become more frantic by the second. He hears the door of the previous room creak open and he knows he's only got mere seconds. He jumps off his own bed, sweeps an arm up the blankets to neaten them and runs over to help lift Jimin up onto his bed, quickly jumping in next to him and covering them tightly with the blankets. As the tapping of shoes stops right outside their bedroom door Taehyung has one arm around Jimin's waist and with chest against back and cheek against neck, he squeezes Jimin tightly and hopes that the elder's eyes and shut like his own. 

The bedroom door creaks open and the orphanage lady walks in at a constant pace, about ten times slower than the rate of Taehyung's heart, and she stops right infront of Jimin's bed occupied by the two boys. He feels her staring at them for about five long seconds before walking out silently and moving on to the next room. Taehyung lets out a big breath of air he was holding in and peaks over Jimin's shoulder to see the other frowning. "Are you alright, Jimin?" He whispers softly. Jimin opens his eyes with a few blinks and glances up at Taehyung. "You're holding me too tight." 

Taehyung pulls his arm away and shuffles back to give Jimin more room. But it seemed to only make the elder frown more. Jimin turns over to face Taehyung and pulls the younger back, snuggling into his chest and wrapping a small arm around his chest. He looks up at the younger and mumbles something with a bit of a stutter. "If we're allowed t-to sleep on the s-same bed, d-do you think we can do this every day then?" 

Taehyung feels a small blush heat up his cheeks as he looks back into his hyung's bright eyes. After a while of the two little kids simply holding each other close and enjoying the warmth they're sharing, Taehyung nods and finds himself admiring Jimin's sleeping complexion for longer than usual.
